So, I literally just walked to the kitchen and said, "Thank you for cooking dinner and bringing it to me [I'm cleaning out the linen closet]. You make me feel catered to and special inside." Which was true and even BETTER made him feel special too! Cause then he smiled. And it was a big smile, a real one, and then he talked about the food a bit, and then I came back here. When I was sick and on bedrest, when I had to isolate from everyone, I told my boyfriend "Mmm a Twinkie sounds so yummy rn. He brought me some Twinkies and Orchids. I told him that I felt so good and that I thought he was super cute for doing that, I'd send him pictures of my roses daily. Next thing you know every few days he's bringing me avocados from his avocado tree, a vaporizer, more roses, cute socks, some DVDs, OTC medications, and food. It's true. They really want to make you feel good because it makes them feel good like a man should feel. He loves that ego stroked and still does so many things to keep me pretty satisfied the more I tell him how it makes me feel inside.

I just found you today. This helped a lot. I never knew 'how' to 'be' feminine. As you said, I look feminine but I was acting masculine. Growing up in the 60's and seeing my mom 'being' a housewife and not having any independence, led me to be totally, independent and controlling with men. I did (doing) the appreciation thing when they opened the door for me, but I haven't seen any high, quality, masculine men that I believe I deserve. I felt if I didn't 'do' anything, a man would lose interest. But that was coming from a less than confident energy. And I just thought of this now, while listening to you. I have been realizing that this is what I needed to change. I don’t want to be the masculine in my relationships anymore. And I’ve attracted someone by just being myself and leaning back. This is so beautiful...I’ve never looked at it this way. I’ve definitely expressed gratitude and opened up emotionally, both come naturally to me. However, I didn’t realize the impact it has on a man. In one of your other videos you touched on vulnerability not as a weakness, but as expressing your truth & being authentic, which gives a man the opportunity to show up for you. My guy and I are "seasoned" citizens so our dynamic is quite a bit different than most of the women you coach. That said, my question is: just tonight we were talking on the phone about laundry. He had done his today and the ironing he seems to feel is necessary. Oh you are so good about doing all those things, I said. I get washing done but don't seem to get to the folding part. And he said well next time I'm up there let's get at it and just fold it all up. Probably unfortunately, I said that he shouldn't have to help me with it so it gets done. My thinking of course being that I should be doing it myself (instead of procrastinating). I should have said that would be so nice of you .... correct? I appreciate the part about learning how to slowwww down because that is also somethin I’ve struggle with. I’m always on the go, go, go! It’s like I’m running a marathon or something. I hurry to wash my face, do my make up etc.. I’m always in a fast pace to get something done or get somewhere. An ex once told me to slow down because my fast attitude makes it harder for a man to become romantic with me ash! Over the years, I find myself becoming more talkative than ever before like misses know it all type gal. My brain is constantly racing with thoughts I feel a need to share. I tend to over think everything. It’s quite ridiculous to say the least Thankfully me noticing this pattern over the past couple of months, led me to want to do things because this attitude takes away from my feminine energy. I want so desperately to relax, enjoy being feminine-having a man by my side who adores the hell out of me. Who continues to pursue me through the relationship I take your advice to sloowwwwwwww all the way down. Talk less, listen more and smile more often. More importantly, think less. Savor every moment by being present in my body. I love it 😍

Adrienne I have known this guy now for 5 month but he lives a bit further away and we only met twice but talk one hour a day on the phone. We just had a beautiful date and yesterday he was still happy with me on the phone. Today he changed 100% he says it will be too hard between us cause he feels I try to control him. I’m So sorry. This is so heartbreaking because he’s taken up so much of your time with very little results. In effect you were lured into over investing in the man with little action on his part. You want to go on regular dates 2-3 x a week. Proximity is everything. Not phone calls and texts. Don’t believe his “you control me” line. I meet them on a online platform and there are really only a few interesting guys. What do you mean by don't believe his I'm scared you will control me....you mean it's just an excuse? The weird thing was the evening before he said to me: I will do anything for you. And the next day he went crazy and I would have never expected that!

Thank you, Adrienne. We all need these reminders from time to time. Speaking of texting, do you think a person can text too much? I have a friend who tends to text every guy she dates 24/7. At first, she insists this is the man that she will marry and he always seems thrilled with her. But, eventually he stops texting her. It is to the point where she is texting at the dinner table, at midnight and into the early morning hours. She has to get up for work at 6am. But, she sometimes doesn't fall asleep til 3am and a lot of times she falls asleep texting, consequently becomes exhausted and short-tempered, esp. with her daughter.

Yes, there's absolutely such a thing as too much texting. It can create a one-dimensional form of communication and can, as you illustrate, become obsession. No man will want to be bombarded with texts 24/7. She has to try and lift her head up from the phone and get into real life, and real life communication. Texting is only one of several communication tools. XOXO
