2022 and I’m playing a 910D3. I’m hitting it the longest and straightest I’ve ever hit it. The difference? Learning what hitting a golf ball with power actually feels like. £400 for a 12 yard improvement is just not worth it. Spend the money on lessons and you’ll gain more than that in just hitting the driver properly.

Thanks for watching. No doubt that the older technology still performs! - Thomas

I gamed the 913 D3 for couple of years before switching to TS3 in 2018. I have not seen massive distance difference between those when I got fitted but I set my mind on the TS so went with it. Still very happy to this day. TSi is sweet but I cannot justify the upgrade. Will likely game the TS for another two iterations unless I get a cheap head of TSi in 2-3 years. Great review

Love this test. Titlest clubs are hard to recognize for a beginner like myself. This was much need information. Thanks fellas, great job.

Love your videos! These kind of in depth comparisons really bring some new stuff into the YT golf area. Would be interesting to see a similar comparsion/test with fairway woods. Seems like drivers have been quite maxed out last years and if correctly fitted you will see little, to no gains. However with fairway woods it seem like alot of the technology which were exclusive for drivers have now been incorporated. That said I currently game a Xhot Pro which when struck well provide top numbers, the dispersion is lacking though. That 3w was bought off the rack, unfitted, and I currently thinking if a shaft upgrade with a sw match would reduce dispersion or if there really are so much advantage in the newer heads that a new club is worth it.

Thank you for watching!! We do have tests like this for fairway woods on our list. We are limited in the hours we have for videos with Thomas' fitting schedule and his competitive events. One thing we will say for both drivers and fairway woods is that performance on off-center hits is what has noticeably improved over the years. Manufacturers have been great about reducing punishment for misses.

Just picked up a 7.5* 913 D3 off your site. Inexpensive experiment to see how a lower lofted Club works for me.

Kevin, What driver are you comparing this new experiment against? Would love to hear your feedback! -Danny

Great video! I went from a 913 7.5 deg to a 917 D3 9.5 deg and noticed a lot more forgiveness. Was hoping to see a 430cc head in TS line. I attended one Titleist Thursday and neither the TS2/3 gave me noticeable improvement. Heres to hoping 2021 has some great choices!

Hi Jacob, thanks for watching! Have you checked out the TS4 model at all? It's a 430cc clubhead, built for lower spin.

How are you liking the 917? I’m just returning to the game after a long hiatus so some clubs are outdated. I’m a scratch player I still have the 909 in my bag (tells you how long I’ve been gone) and considering tossing it for the 917, I don’t think the extra cost of the ts and tsi is justifiable imo

@@TalmboutJonAfrica im itching for an upgrade tbh. Want to at least hit the tsi3/4 and see. Still gaming the 917 and its consistent but im always searching and tinkering for more!

I bought the 910 D2 new in 2012 and still love it. It was a replacement for a 983k driver. I compared my driver to the ts3 on a launch monitor and the numbers were virtually the same. Most of my drives are consistent at around 220 yards total. I am interested in testing the tsi3 driver. Perhaps my swing speed is too low to see a significant difference?

Tsi3 is great
@golfendeavor82673 жыл бұрын
Try the TSi3, it went certainly hotter of the face and was very straight compared to my TS3. Be open minded when testing, maybe the TSi2 or even TSi1 might be a better fit especially if you swing speed is below 100 mph.

I think that the 910 series was an anomaly. Took titleist years to make any model that was anywhere near as good.,

Clubhead speed increased towards the end. Warmed up or due to the club design?
@2ndswing4 жыл бұрын
Likely some of both. Thomas does his best to swing consistently throughout but after that many swings it's natural to swing a bit faster! Thank you for watching!

Very useful. Currently playing 910D3 and trial fitting each new Titleist over the years with minimum improvement vs value. Even against other brands. The time will come soon though as age catching up!

Numbers look very similar to other brands you've tested, makes picking one brand to test difficult. Really just proves you need to get fitted to find the right driver.

Played several of these drivers. Currently have TS3. 917 was short and spinny for me.

Thank you for watching! Is the TS3 playing better for you in terms of spin?

2nd Swing Golf yes but I still struggle with high spin and high ball flight.

I've been worried my 913 is out of date, technology wise. I am not really seeing a reason to "upgrade" to a modern driver after watching this. It seems the gains are minimal in this review. Am I right?
@2ndswing4 жыл бұрын
The main difference we've noticed with Titleist drivers over the years is that the spin number has dropped, especially with the new TS3. If you hit the ball low as it is, the 913 probably still works pretty well for you. There are some distance gains to be had if you don't have a problem launching the ball into the air and the spin drops by around 400 RPM. In this test, Thomas gained 10 yards. It could be more or less for you. It's up to you to decide if that's worth the upgrade!

I was thinking the same thing. But my 10 year old 913 was working quite well the last time out. Good enough distance for me and great workability. I hit a power fade on a tight par 4 that, somehow, silenced the group.

Would changing the hosel settings of the 915 help with reducing spin?
@agoodbogey2 жыл бұрын
Im not sure i have an 8.5 degree turned up to 9,25 and recently got a TSI3 8.0 degree and I cant verify numberrs but i can tell i gained some 10-18 yards and less spin . But i am keeping my 915 head still . ALso i should say that i changed my shaft of the 915 driver as well The extra .5 inch was throwing me off
