I have bipolar 1 with phycosis. It is a constant struggle for me not to go to either extreme. What I have done to myself and others has caused me friends, family, and jobs. The history of drugs and alcohol running throughout my family tree. As well as bipolar. I've seen what happens when you mix this with abuse of either. So I've managed not to become reliant on either. In fact, I became so scared of myself that I ended up making the decision not to have kids, which was the one thing I've wanted since forever. So, while we might not be criminals, it's not quite an easy life. Especially if your condition is on the sever side. I do think that Taylor should not get off on insanity as she made the problem worse by getting on drugs.

Meth can definitely cause people to become violent. My husband and I had hired a painter to paint our house. He was really clean cut and friendly but both us of us just felt there was something “off” about him. Turns out he was a meth addict but had been in recovery for awhile. Well, a few years later he was arrested for a triple homicide. First, he murdered a woman and tried dismembering her body then dumped her in a pond. Then he killed two men because they knew he had killed the woman. He went on the run and was finally caught. As he was being led into the police station, a reporter asked him why he did it and he simply said “Meth”.

I agree totally! Tweakers are absolutely insane and they get worse the more and longer they do it. I lived in a small town in colorado Is kinda famous for tweekers. The cops busted this college boy for steroids in a neighboring city. The cops told him they would go easy on him and let him off if he would go be an informant undercover in my town. Well, he didn't last long. They figured him out real quick. And they found him up on a trail behind my house with his throat cut. My best friend from elementary school got on that was on it for years, went to prison over it and Then still did it when she was on parole. She had bullet holes in her car, she had some of her tweak friends dognap her pet for ransom. I would tell her your life is so out of control. You're going to get busted, what are you doing? She would say no, the cops love me😂 They get so delusional

I agree with the jury's verdict of guilty and the verdict that this case did not fit the legal definition of insanity. With a medical history of severe instability since age 14, this woman is the product of many failures; institutional, medical and familial. While this case is obviously extreme, it illustrates what the lack of proper medical care along with inadequate support by family and school can produce. The result is not pleasant and the ripple effect is worse.

I'm not _at all_ here to defend her, but judging one person's mental illness through the lens of another person's mental illness is almost pointless. Mental disorders affect everyone differently. My brothers and I grew up in the same environment and have many of the same mental health challenges but we had VERY different outcomes in our lives. They became criminals and junkies and I moved to a small town in Hawaii to live a quiet life. In my world, we have a saying: "If you've met one autistic person, then you've met one autistic person." Like autism, many mental disorders are on a wide spectrum. Also, isn't expecting a psychotic, mentally ill drug addict to be rational and responsible about their mental health is a bit of an oxymoron? Lmao Having said all that, she should be locked away for the rest of her life. She has no place in society whether this was her "fault" or not.
@wordsleuth992
@wordsleuth992 Жыл бұрын
@@clicheguevara5282you don’t think she should be allowed treatment and a chance to get better?? wouldn’t treatment be better than “locking her away”? I’m not saying let her out- but don’t you think she should get the help she so clearly needs??
@clicheguevara5282
@clicheguevara5282 Жыл бұрын
@@wordsleuth992 Absolutely.. But for the safety of society, she still needs to be locked away in a psychiatric facility. ..and in cases of SEVERE mental disorders and psychosis like hers, it’s statistically very unlikely that she’ll ever be recovered enough to re-enter society. It’s even less likely that a parole board will ever forgive the fact that she did a full blown ISIS execution on her boyfriend. Recovery is absolutely possible and I’ve seen it myself. ..but “lost causes” also exist and Taylor very much seems like one at this stage.

There's only one problem, I feel. Prisons do provide psych services and medications, but it is still up the person to decide whether they want those services and this woman won't do it.
