Tom was such a talented singer and song writer but he was also blessed to be surrounded by such great band members many artists were envious of the band members Tom played with RIP TOM😊🎸

Amazing that this song was recorded in 1982, but never released on an album until after his passing. For any other artist, this song would be a career making single. Tom Petty.... just another tuesday.

Tom Petty was an incredible songwriter and musician, but I think that he was one of the most underrated performers in rock. He always put on a great show. His ability to keep the audience captivated by his performance even in his later years after his youthful energy was gone speaks volumes of his charisma and stage presence. Truly one of the greatest of all time. He will be missed by everyone whose life was made better by his music. And for that, he has achieved immortality. RIP Tom Petty.

Me, my husband, my daughter and her boyfriend were blessed to be able to see Tom Petty in concert last summer at Wrigley Field. Little did we know then that Tom's time here with us was limited. This video helps us all to remember. I raised my daughter listening to a lot of Tom Petty. His music is part of the fabric of our lives. This song/video takes me back and evokes many memories...all good. It makes me smile as I watch/listen! He may be gone, but will always be in our hearts, forever loved, and never forgetten.

I was lucky enough to see him one time in Pittsburgh back in 2013. I was amazed at how simple the show was. Just Tom and the band playing music and some basic stage lights. It was the best night of my life and even more special now that he's passed. The world lost an amazing man when he left us.

Been a huge Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers fan since 1977 .. I understand what Stevie Nicks said ..she would never get over Tom's death ..I believe he knew he was going to leave ..Dana said on his last day ..he asked her yo look up a girl from school who gave his band a chance to play his high school dance..(Cindy Crawford) NOT THE CINDY CRAWFORD..also to play ( You and me ) 💔 if only he had gone immediately into the hospital for pain management. Then hip replacement ..new hip and years left to enjoy .so very sad 😥 💘💘💘

I honestly never thought I would cry over an artist passing away, but I ended up crying twice over Tom...I heard on the radio he died, and I cried. Then I heard he was on life support and I felt better and thought he would come through. Then the official report that he was off life support and gone hit me again. So I cried twice for the Gainesville native...thank you so much for the great jams and lines that makes life make sense. Cheers to you sir.

I watched a Petty concert at Deer Creek in Indy about 10 years ago where a massive thunderstorm rolled in. The concert was an outdoor amphitheater - so I thought that someone would cut the concert short. Nope - he kept going. At one point the venue lost power after a lightning strike and the crowd kept on singing. When the power came back 15 seconds later he picked up right with the crowd - the whole band everything was right on queue. I sat there in the storm scared out of my wits that we would be struck by lighting but I didn't want the concert to end. I look back at that night and it was magical. This song takes me back to a time when things were less complicated. I miss you Tom!

So glad I got to see him near the end of his final tour in Baltimore. Two days after he passed away I went on a 19 hr car ride to Florida and listened to a lot of Tom Petty radio. Two days ago I just returned again from Florida and while there, this song made it's debut on TP Radio so will forever be connected to that trip. Still hard to believe he is gone, almost a year later still doesn't feel real, it's so sad to think he is no longer here, but glad we are getting this box set, unearthing unreleased music and even more amazing a gem like this sat in the vault for 36 years!

Still feeling a loss over his passing was softened by this song. It's one thing to dig deep into a full and wonderful catalog of songs but to feel numb and at a loss for words and his posthumous unknown song is him giving to his fans even after he left the world is something very Tom. He gave his all in a way that may have lead to him leaving sooner than he should have but in his big heart he still had more for us after he wasn't around to speak in a way we never could.

I've been listening to my American Treasure box set this morning. It's funny how I'm tearing up one second and smiling wide the next. I just love Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. I'm reading and watching KZbin videos and learning more about him and the band, and it's amazing and painful at the same time. I want so much to buy tickets and grab my wife and go see them again. The 40th Anniversary Tour had Joe Walsh open, and it was easily the best four concert hours of my life, and I've seen more than my share of great shows over the years. He cared so much, and I feel so certain that he loved the fans as much as we loved him. American Treasure is amazing and fantastic and I'm ecstatic to own it. To the family: Thank you, and please keep digging, because I want to hear it all. And, I hope this doesn't sound greedy, but the 40th Anniversary Tour was a genuine thrill of a lifetime, and I'd love to see you put together a DVD. I will never get enough of Tom Petty.
