I was diagnosed as T2 Diabetic and with Peripheral Neuropathy . This was a decade ago. I used to take metformin until my endocrinologist changed it to Progin. Am now an Octogenarian . However, after taking the new prescribed maintenance dosage for a week, I stopped taking it, because after taking my daily blood glucose readings, it was averaging to 75. Now, my only problem now is my feet neuropathy. I never take any pain reliever when my feet aches, with burning, tingling sensation and numbness, BUT being a schooled Acupuncturist, I DIY pricking on the acupuncture points of my neuropathy . It worked for me, Thank GOD🙏👍✅‼️Plus feet exercises, swimming, cycling and slow walking! And functional Medicine, my diet helped a lot: no red meat, pork but chicken, fish, veggies, fruits, cereals, yogurt and no soda nor alcohol but coconut water and plain water👍✅🙏‼️Pls check your own health provider. Am just sharing my personal experience. Merry Christmas and GOD Bless us all‼️

What about the characteristic of this burning and what does it tell about the possible cause? Let's say it comes every 5-15 minutes in a small wave and feels like stepping in a puddle of very warm water. Or if it just persists over some minutes or even hours? How about the beginning of it, what does it mean if it slowly develops or if it begins almost suddendly from one day to another?

1. What about erythermalgia, eczema, and psoriasis for burning feet? 2. What are the odds you can have multiple causes? 3. How can you tell which of these causes is affecting you? 4. For myself, cold water is one of the only things that helps in providing temporary relief. Anything touching the feet (especially top and sides) increases the burning the longer it's worn....even socks. There is also redness and sometimes swelling on both feet. Based on that, what cause is most likely? Thank you!

@@Librona It might be erythromelalgia. It took a number of months and multiple visits before a rheumatologist took a single look at my red feet and said I have erythromelalgia. Everything fits. It's a rare disease and many doctors haven't even heard about it. Need to find a really good rheumatologist and neurologist. I also saw vascular and dermatology. It's neurovascular. Unfortunately, the treatment given so far hasn't helped, but still trying new medications.

I have some kind of nerve issue in my right foot and (slightly less) in my right hand. I had T2 diabetes, but that is controlled now (keto diet, berberine). Also some lower back issues, which I am improving slowly with Pigeon stretches, mega-dose Benfotiamine, and agmatine sulfate. I have been taking most of the recommended Diabetic Neuropathy supplements, with no results (thus I think it is not that, maybe a pinched nerve or sciatica or something). Been to chiro, did back decompression and also thoracic decomp as well (honestly, I think they had no clue what was wrong with me). Most results I have gotten so far was from a stretching service, that has loosened my very tight glutes, hamstrings, and hips. I also do BioFreeze Pro on my feet twice per day, seems to control the pain there. I really want to know EXACTLY what is wrong, so many symptoms overlap. Is it Sciatica, is it Piriformis Syndrome, pinched nerve??? Who is the best to evaluate me, a podiatrist like yourself? GP? nerve specialist (sound expensive AF)? I appreciate your videos greatly, hope you can direct me to some help.

My feet are perfectly fine in the morning and throughout the day till evening, then they turn reddish in the toe areas and have a little bit of burning feel, this is whether I'd run, and or worked out or just sat around during the day.

I’m 70, slim, exercise most days and my feet tend to get red and burn at night. I have bunions. Soaking in cold water soothes them but I’m wondering why they get like this. I occasionally get RLS if I’m up too late.

I'm sorry you have to deal with that. Anything disrupting sleep is just pure agony because we never know if it'll go away & can be scary. Try stretching your piriformis (look up stretches) and that can help sometimes. Also get blood checked

@@MelisJoy blood checked for what?
@MOEMUGGY Жыл бұрын
@@sassysandie2865 You should get your bloodwork done for many reasons. The doctor can tell right away if you're suffering from heart disease, liver disease, mineral deficiency, or any number of other health problems. If you're 70 and in poor health, it pretty safe to say you're suffering from all of the above. A blood test will tell you what's going to get you first.

What meds for RLS?
@ytb3748 Жыл бұрын
@sassysandie2865... Trust me and I speak from experience, you do not need meds for RLS. Try 'intermittent fasting' for 6 weeks. Try to fast 2 thirds of everyday (faithfully) and when you break your fast, make sure your diet does not contain meat, bread or flour of any kind, dairy, alcohol and sugar. I know it is harsh but it works REMARKABLY well!! Towards the fourth week of fasting, if not sooner, you will notice that you do not experience RLS anymore. This does not just treat RLS, numerous other illnesses and diseases can be treated with 'intermittent fasting' You will sleep better, feel younger and stronger, it really does work and it's FREE :)
@sassysandie2865 Жыл бұрын
@@ytb3748 I’ve read studies on intermittent fasting and there isn’t really good data proving it’s efficacy. I know alcohol can make it worse so I limit my wine to once or twice a week, if even that. Thank you.

My husband has been on a statin. This has caused the burning in his feet. He stopped it. The burning went away.
@DrTomBiernacki Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the great response! Statins are drugs that can lower your cholesterol. They work by blocking a substance your body needs to make cholesterol. Lowering cholesterol isn't the only benefit associated with statins. These medications have also been linked to a lower risk of heart disease and stroke. While statins are highly effective and safe for most people, they have been linked to muscle pain, digestive problems and mental fuzziness in some people. Rarely, they may cause liver damage. If possible, we would appreciate a quick and easy rating from you, and a good rating makes a BIG difference for us! g.page/r/CZWo3fJqJrVpEBM/review Thanks again for watching! All the best to you!
