Here's a great total body strength workout you can do in under 40 min. This one is great for beginners as well as those who have had some weight lifting experience. Please subscribe to my channel. Thanks!
Level: Basic
Description: This is an Upper/Lower Body Resistance Dumbbells workout. First, do a quick warm-up, then alternate between upper and lower body toning/resistance work, and finish up with a nice relaxing stretch.
Equipment needed: 3 lb., 5 lb., 8 lb. dumbbells. Optional: mat or towel, a chair.

This workout was perfect pace and intensity! I suffer from patellofemoral syndrome in both my knees and a slap tear in one shoulder. The squats and lunges you do were great ... didn't even hurt and the upper body exercises were mild enough to perform with a lesser weight or no weight at all.

Hi Jenny, Just wanted to say thanks for your videos. I'm in my mid 40's and have always tried to be fit. I was recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia so exercising is hard but you make it easy and interesting. I've been doing Denise and Gilad for years. You're right up there with those titans of fitness!! @lisa V-- Great suggestion! I need to do that. Until then, I would suggest at least 3 days cardio 30 minutes or more, and at least 2 days of strength training, and 1 day of flexibility. It is also important to have one rest day. BUt I am really liking your suggestion of making a schedule. I'll work on that. =)

Soraya, great question! The gray is 8 lbs., blue is 5 lbs., and red is 3 lbs. Be sure to use what you are comfortable with. You can start with smaller weights, and work your way up. As you build strength you can increase weight.

@beachfeet1000 Oh that is awesome! You can do a lot of really great exercises to tone and strengthen the core on a big exercise ball. I have a workout on the ball that I will be filming in the next week or so, be sure to stay tuned! I'll try and get it up ASAP. Been a little under the weather, so it put me behind on my filming schedule. But it's coming!

Hey Jenny.. It's me again!! Holy tolito.. Have no words for this workout.. I haven't done much in the way of strength training except my arms.. Been doing mostly cardio.. All I can say is wow.. My glutes will be soar for the next few days lol..but very good.. Will start incorporating this into my schedule on my off cardio days!

hey Jenny my friend just gave me an exercise ball that you are supposed to work out on, but I don't know anything to use it for except crunches, do you have videos where you are on a ball ? The ball workouts by other instructors online are mostly with the smaller balls you don't sit on :(

@preethagopal Thank you very much for your feedback. It is always very helpful and appreciated. This particular workout is an emphasis on strength training,however I do have a GREAT Hi-Lo workout posted on my JennyFordFitness if you want to try it. As far as calories burned, it will really vary from person to person, but if you add resistance to your workouts, you will help increase your metabolim, and continue to burn calories long after you are done lifting.
