The problem is that newer cars are aimed not really at people who want a sporting drive but at those who really want a luxury car, this is an issue with a lot of vehicles IMHO. This track just has enough tight sections to punish the new NSX for its massive weight to overcome the power difference and fast shifting transmission.
@ELECTRICEYEMEDIA2 жыл бұрын
This was only one course they tested with each car. Get both cars on a track with more open straights with large sweepers and the NA2 will get spanked hard by the NC1. For tight switchbacks and hairpins a lighter car will always corner better through an apex. On a straight, the more powerful car will leave bus lengths reducing the lighter car's ET in the end despite the fact that it can sprint a bit better through tighter turns.

300hp is very low for a car these days. The new NSX kills the old NSX on the track. This video is an extremely tight turned mountain touge battle - very different from every day use. New NSX is 30 seconds faster around Nurburgring than old NSX. Although I was disappointed with how much electronics and even the looks that the new NSX has, it's pretty clearly the superior race car, and overall daily driver as well.

The cornering motion of the NSXR is just beautiful, that is what a proper sports car should look like, Honda had no intention to make comfortable sports car in that era, only race cars. Honda really needs to get their shit together and built an NSX that is what car enthusiasts want, just like the original NSX. I don't think the original NSX got the praise it deserved. It truly has stood the test of time. Both old and new seem to have reviews focusing only on the shortcomings , not so much the merits. Will today's NSX be seen in a similar light in 30 years time? I doubt it.

Awesome video. Thankful for the three legends and the crew behind the making of this episode. I do still think that perhaps more seat time behind the wheel of the newer NSX is required in order to get really acquainted with the driver aids from the advance electronics. If you are use to driving the non driving aid cars, it will take some time to trust in the decisions, calculations, and adjustments that the assisted modern cars offer. I still love the original NSX though.
