I'm sorta new, and I'm lazy, so I sit in a chair when airbrushing and I cant get a steady hand/arm. Would standing in front of an easel be better, or a stool? I use a smaller desktop easel right now and a table and chair setup. I do have an easel like yours though, I just got it. Thanks. p.s. I also only have a small compressor, with tank, and it seems to run constantly when I am using the system, it doesnt keep ahead of the airflow, but it does seem to keep up with it though. Im not made of money.. LOL. But I did invest last year into the Eclipse.

@@latenighter1965 you might find a ledge, stand, or chair or or stool might help you steady your hand.

I’ve started using a chunk of sponge soaked in simple green to clean tip dry. I just jab the needle gently into the sponge and give it a little twist, I’ve yet to bend a needle doing this but I’m sure I will eventually

Thanks for the video - great content as always! Just wanted to say that I prefer your normal video format without the noisy and distracting special effects. IMHO you have one of the best instructional presentations on KZbin, your explanations and demonstrations are excellent; you speak clearly in a supportive and encouraging way. I appreciate that. Just saying, highlighting something is fine but I don't think that you need to embellish your videos with special effects. Cheers!

Love your advice I been painting for over 30 let me give you a tip as well if you want a faster way for balance "strain" your white paint the minute you get it you can even add water then filter it the spray with it...trust me you will love it
@crackedfingerz Жыл бұрын
Very clever. I'm going to attempt this. What do you use to strain the paint? Will a coffee filter work? Thanks.

Liquitex white acrylic ink works great. Gouache flows nice but you gotta mix it up and I'm lazy. Been using the same 2 Iwata HP-C's since the 80's. Nickle is all wore off the cups but they still work perfectly. Good videos!

Thanks for the help video for the white’s!!🙏 I figured out my problem the other day. I’m a newbie to the brush as you can tell by my question’s. I started out with the Chinese red brush like you had in your comparison video with it against the Iwata doing skulls side by side. And to keep going the cheaper way I bought a big chain box stores large set of “no name acrylic brush paint. Well I was wanting to try skulls and the first color I tried was the white. Everything I tried with thinning the paint different ways, 50/50, 70/30 and even going to the extremes both ways along with different pressures up and down the range it would not spray anything out but the reducer. That’s why I couldn’t see anything coming out of the brush until I would stop my stroke and it would finally start to spray paint out and spidering before I could react fast enough with getting the stroke movement going again. Every other color works and sprays great except the white. I don’t know what’s different about it but it will not accept the reducer. I can stir it with a paint brush really well and after I pour it into the airbrush it will separate. At first I thought it was a bad airbrush so I bought a Badger Patriot 105 fine needle and nozzle combo along with their superfine needle nozzle which makes it spray a extremely fine line. It would not spray the white either. I tried the other colors in the red brush and it sprays them well also. I bought some createx airbrush white paint and both brushes sprays it just fine. I’m guessing that the no-name acrylic paint company must have added something to the white paint that the reducer will not bind with that’s causing it to separate like it does?? Anyway thanks again for the great advice earlier with your reply to my question and this extremely important help video!!🙏 I know it will help all the newbie’s out there because I did a search for the help spraying of white paint out of airbrushing before I asked you for help and as far as I know yours is the only one on KZbin!👍👍👍

Thanks so much mate and yes , white is challenging hence why I made this video to hopefully help those that have had issues using it. 🤞🏻 Glad you got it sorted in the end and through the process of elimination you figured out that it was the white (cheaper paint) that was giving you grief. I would definitely recommend paint that is specifically designed for airbrushing as you have learnt that you can’t count on the performance of cheaper paints . 👍🏻👍🏻 glad this video helped thanks again for sharing your experience I think this comment will be valuable to many people .

Thin paints with multiple coats is all nice & well for large masked areas, but how do you deal with detailed freehand lines, like say the ones at 2:20 ? Seems awfully tricky to keep hitting the exact center of that line 5 times in a row to get sufficient opacity.

I’m not having a dig but I’ve been using an airbrush for years to do minor repairs on ceramics in construction and most ceramics are white and I’ve never had an issue regarding the colour, is that because of the paint more so than the airbrush?

@@AirbrushAsylum I don't know if they are related but they do cerakote instead of airbrush sir. The thing i want to know that if airbrush can do that to? The connector with different color they call it coated connector ( there are a lot like - coated aviator connector - coated yc8 connector...... like that). Can you get it sir? If it can then I'll want to start my small business. I want some ideas from your. Hope you do that. Thank you from me bolivan.🙏

Does anyone have any tips for white primer? I really need it for a project I'm working on but no matter the brand or what airbrush I use it always goes on chalky and beady, even at 40+Psi. Never had this issue with anything else to the degree that I couldn't solve it but this is really a wall for me.
@AirbrushAsylum Жыл бұрын
How are you spraying the primer ? If you are trying to spray it through an airbrush, then it may be too thick and keep in mind some paints are not designed to go through an airbrush, so if you over thin them then it will compromise the viscosity . Perhaps try a mini spray gun and mix according to the recommended instructions on the primer 👍🏻 hope that helps
@jamescandela7304 Жыл бұрын
@Airbrush Asylum lately I've been using the pro acryl. It is made for airbrush and per the instructions you are not supposed to use thinner.

Same with yellow and skin colour if its water based tho. Laqcuer paint is the best for modeling but the toxicity is not good tho. Not always that I want to use a mask and went out for hours cause the spray booth wont take all the odour. I have the ps 275 and every time I let loose of the trigger it sprays a large burst. Any way to fix this? Its really annoying.

How do you keep from getting a blue shift
@babel2323 жыл бұрын
I haven't tried this yet, but saw a video where it's a matter of layering colors .. I saw where he painted his white highlights and had massive blue shift.. then he Fogged over the highlight with orange then re layered the white. Looked like it worked really well. and he didn't even layer the orange in all that thickly just enough to shift away from the blue.

Useful vid. Another problem with white (and other lighter white mixes spraying over darker) is blue shift (another video series altogether)!
