The dozens of convictions for finacial crimes are just part of the conspiracy against him. He won that last election too but it was fixed. @user-gw9yx2wx5g Tariffs, if used properly eliminate cost advantages, meaning if u have a higher minimum wage, environmental tax through better, cleaner operations, safety etc in your country but the country u buying from does not, u effectively putting companies in your country out of business and then no more employees....that really hurts the little man, the poor man. (As a small benefit of buying local, you then are decreasing transport over the seas. All those ships travelling around, the oil burnt, maybe animals hurt.) Tariffs used incorrectly (too high, too low, volatile) can hurt businesses. Tariffs should not be used to discriminate against one particular country, like taxes, interest rates they should be stable, long term and not used for political clout! Its imperative, fundamental to have business councils per sector to put forward proper policies for government to consider. Basically, do a cost analysis and make sure the market is balanced between being protected and being competitive. Politics should not play a role.

A point to be made, the Biden administration has kept most of the Trump administration tariffs in place, and in May 2024, announced tariff hikes on an additional $18 billion of Chinese goods, including semiconductors, electric vehicles, ship-to-shore cranes, steel and aluminum, battery components, solar cells and medical devices. At the same time the EU has tariffs in place against China. China also has tariffs in place against US goods as well, soybeans for example. This a normal part of international trade balance as countries attempt to protect domestic producers.
@hadiamrane16 күн бұрын
Yes, I see what you mean, but as far as I know, EU didn't tax EVERYTHING from China but only cars from certain brands and also some other things but taxing all the stuff is impossible as the EU doesn't make these things and even if EU would tax everything that has been made from china, bosch for example would let it's cars parts be made in a different country. Maybe banglades or someplace else in Asia. The US already taxed the hell out of China, did it help? Of course not. Not only that but Trump is going to tax it even more up to 60%(?) which is just crazy. Inflation is going to get better but worse. I read another comment that butter is 7 dollars, if that's the case then the US has other issues than China. Heck, the food in US product uses crazy amounts of ingredients that are banned in other countries like high corn fructos syrope, blue 1, yellow 5, etc. The point of these trash additives was to make food really cheap but even with that much of unhealthy trash, the food is still expensive. US is cooked.
@mineapple861216 күн бұрын
Tariffs never make something cheaper! The concept of free trade is that, if someone can produce something more efficient/ cheaper, it is wiser, that you focus on something you can make more efficient than them. This way both of you maximize the potential output and margin. Tariffs counter the advantage of efficiency by design. Imo the only legitimate reasons for tariffs are to counter unfair advantages in comparison to the domestic competitors like (globally relevant) pollution or forced labor, or to decrease the reliance of system critical goods from abroad. In Europe we used to have hundreds of principalities. Each with its own tax borders, but the economy only started to thrive with free trade between them.
@hadiamrane16 күн бұрын
@@mineapple8612 Yes, it is true that the recent EU tarriffs on chinese car companies makes absolute sence as China gives out crazy subsidies that are unfair to us europeans. So somebody buys a car for 16k euros while the car should have been 25 or something like that. This is because of the subsidies. If you put tarrifs on it, it will be equal price to for example a Germany car that doesn't get the luxury that the communist give to their companies. But trumps taxes make zero sence what so ever. He will tax everything like he said multiple times in the past. Now it appears he is going to tax everything to 60% that comes from China but many things can't get made in the US because it will be too expensive to the companies so the consumers are going to have to pay for that. So the consumer is going to pay either way. Btw, if things get taxed from China, companies like Apple are going to fully move to India just to avoid the taxes. I don't think trump is going to tax india as they are good friends. So he isn't solving the problem he wants to solve. Just typical populist that want to "help".

Anyone who thinks you can bring back large scale manufacturing to rich westerners countries doesn't understand economics at all , they can't make the price of manufacturing goods significantly cheaper without reducing the valuation of the USD/GBP/EURO which they're not willing to do as the USD is the world's reserve currency & the other 2 are pretty highly valued in terms of exchange rates. If you really want cheap manufacturing in the west then you have to build up Latin America & Eastern Europe (the elephant in the room is that many ppl don't consider those regions western because of cultural differences or because of a lack of majority white population) because those are where the cheaper valued currencies are to make exports cheaper (Brazil, Mexico, Poland, Romania ect)
@RickBeacham16 күн бұрын
Eastern Europe is for sure European and also Latin America can be European in origin with a mix of Afro and indigenous. Argentina is for sure European. The West means Western Europe (And their allies) vs Eastern Europe (Russia and Its Allies). Its just a term used in language or geo politics and has not nothing to do with culture. Also, robots and automated systems will and have replaced human labor in all aspects of manufacturing. Consider Japan and how it reshaped car manufacturing... Sourcing the materials to produce the goods is the problem.
@ContraVsGigi16 күн бұрын
Well, I would be curious what skin color do you think the great majority of people have in Poland or Romania :))) A: white. As for culture, I don't exactly know what you mean, maybe because they were on the bad side of the red curtain and were comunist countries thanks to the USSR? One is mostly Orthodox (Romania, just like Greece or Ukraine), the other one is mostly Catholic (Poland).
@cryptocsguy928216 күн бұрын
@ContraVsGigi When I was talking about not having majority white population I'm obviously talking about most places in Latin America besides Argentina, Chile & Uruguay (plus Southern Brazil- all the places Nazis ran off to after WW2) When I'm talking about cultural differences between Eastern & Western Europe obviously communism is a part of that historically but also religious/cultural differences in some parts like Orthodox vs Catholicism & writing in Cyrillic script vs Latin script plus maintaining a minority Muslim population vs deportation & destruction of minority Muslim population in Western Europe historically then in moderm times Western Europe being more racially diverse. So yeah overall there's loads of cultural differences but you can still consider Eastern Europe to be western when the concept of east vs west derived from ancient Greek ideas about their own culture vs various Middle Eastern cultures

the whole point of tarriffs is to drive production into the united states. it's not implemented day 1 for that reason. manufacturers get the time to move their production for goods sold in usa. most countries do the same with tarrifs. nothing new about it. usa had a very lenient policy on it.
@hadiamrane16 күн бұрын
Yes but many things are not made in the US like car batteries. It's really expensive to pay an american or european to make batteries. That's why tesla makes it batteries in China and also many tesla cars too. So just addiding 60% tarriffs and then praying everything will just come to the US is really naive to think. You have that famous motorbike company harley davidson that recently moved from US, you really think that they are coming back? What about Bosch or Delphi, you think they are going to make their ECU in US or Germany by just slapping tarriffs? Of course not! The poor consumer is going to pay for all this. But people know about this but still voted for this. You get what you pay for as they say.
@hacorn9616 күн бұрын
@hadiamrane none of the products you mentioned are crucial utilities for poor people. Baseless compassion. Like I said earlier, tariffs done right can allow the companies to move manufacturing in comfortable time to the country, this not only driving prices down over time, but also creating opportunities in the same economy. That's why every country with any sense want to move manufacturing in their own country. That's precisely why China's economy boomed in the first place. Regular people understand basic economics. Only us armchair elites are separated from ground reality. They voted for that. (Not to mention, they also voted against the terrible socialist economics of the far left.)
@hadiamrane16 күн бұрын
@@hacorn96 Well I don't live in the US so don't know what you mean by "terrible socialist far left", so having basic working rights like in the EU or other countries like even Australia or UK are now "socialist" or what do you even mean by that? The average american doesn't even know half of the world on the map just like they dont know ANYTHING like politics because everything is now "far left" or "far right". This is all because of the 1855 politics america is stuck in. You can either vote for a "far right dictator" like many of old trumps friends call him or either a far left woman like Harris. This is not how politics works in all developed nations. You have lots of choice in other developed countries, but only US has the worst healtcare, the worst food, and the worst debt. Trump is for sure getting rid of the affordable care act and obama care, which didn't even fix most of the issues that the US healthcare has. Before he couldn't because of mccain who voted against banning it, but now, there are no people that are against project 2025 or at banning healtcare. This is the worst outcome for the US. But this is what happens when you still live in a bubble that doesn't look at how other countries are doing and still call yourself a "democracy" and having "freedom". Whatever all of that meant. Good luck over there. So back to your points of tarriffs: everything will become expensive and NOTHING is coming back to the US as a US person is way more expensive than a kid in China. If China gets taxed, then everything will go to thailand or someplace else. Tarriffs are not going to fix the issues that the US has. But whatever.

@@hadiamrane I don't live in the US either. Still I can see the fact that the left (like in most countries, across history) has socialist tendencies. Our culture villainized far-right, but forgot to villainize far-left. Including Europe. The entire EU is very collectivist around social and economic policy. Everything you've said is speculative. Nothing explains why Trump's policies in 2016 didn't lead to massive inflation. Reason being, he has good policies. I'll judge people by their actions more than their words and numbers speak for themselves. And no he is not far-anything, I listen to people speaking directly. I've heard Kamala the left speak and their policies show poor grasp of economics. Which leads them to collectivist socialist direction, evident by the terrible US economy. I can go on about it all but that's besides the point. Secondly, if tarrifs were so bad, half the nations around the world won't be doing it. Nothing is purely good or purely bad. It's how you apply it. And you've not said anything substantial in your entire rant, leading me to believe you only think tarrifs are bad because trump is doing it. Try harder.
