Few days ago i found out about those Technical paint line from Citadel and I love them! I got Nurgle's Rot and Blood for Blood God paints. That oxidation effect is really awesome! Have you tried other technical paints and which one would you recommend?

@@iphatbass Yes, technical paints are great but too much can take away from the model. I like to use technical paints for specific purposes. Typhus corrosion is good for streaks and grime. Some of the bases are pretty good. I use stirland mud and astrogranite a lot for bases. Ardcoat is another good one. It gives a shiny finish. If you look at my Instagram post of the leviathan, the dead spacemarine on the base, I mixed arcoat with a red contrast paint.

You have this talent for taking a model and in the messiest way possible, making it look awesome. But no primer... is that paint going to stay on the mini? I feel like that's gonna have the paint job peeling off. :( Oh, you can skip cotton swabs for removal, just get makeup sponges. Cheaper and no fibers. Saves a lot of time. Took me a lot of trial and error before I figured this out. Really enjoyed this vid, thank you!

@@Lanessar8008 One does not simply paint a mini, without priming it first. I used mechanicus Standard Grey rattle can. Also, the paint is likely to chip off if not primed first. Ironically, I don't have a makeup sponge. I suppose it's not common issued from the administratum. I might have to ask ratling! Glad you like the vid!! 😁

like to using only paintbrush, but no separate parts to paint, its bad idea. Never do that people! Weathering effects here are good, but not great. Just look at some ww2 modelars, how they make weathering and your leviathan will be so much better than this one :´*

Unfortunately many people don't know the tocity of oil paints and it's thinners. As well as airbrushing without a proper ventilation and equipment. Hope this helps!! 😁

@@Derpa_Derpa_777 That's the color of mechanicus standard Grey. Years ago it actually used be a slightly lighter color. I typically do polls and let you guys decide on the mini I paint. The grey is a good neutral color and goes will with pretty much every paint. It's not practical for me to have 15 rattle cans, especially when everything is out of pocket on a full time student lol

@@nukakitten I hear ya. I do have a small collection of rattle cans in various colors now but I might upgrade to an airbrush. It is becoming way too common in tutorials to ignore. You can get a pretty inexpensive setup too. The biggest selling feature for me is time saved. But the downside is that my washes won’t have as drastic of an effect on the miniature. I am definitely a fan of what Streaking Grime does!

@@Derpa_Derpa_777 Perhaps future me will have an airbrush. The only downside to having one is the layer is thin and may chip easier compared to regular paint brush. This would mean you have to varnish it, where if you painted with brush, generally you don't have to varnish. I have 10 year old painted minis, without varnish, thrown into a box in the attic, and there is no chipping. Also, once any paint become a spray it becomes toxic to breathe. So proper equipment is needed. Streaking grime looks awesome, but unfortunately all oils, oil paint thinners, and enamel is toxic. A lot of these say it's potentially hazardous if exposed for long periods of time without proper equipment. However, on my channel I want to promote alternatives that nearly all people can do without indirectly causing any harm 😁
