Been watching Tarantula Collective since early 2020 and I’m happy to say I’ve slowly grown my collection after avidly consuming and rewatching the care and husbandry series~ not to mention the quality of cinematography in each video is top notch. I love having your playlists on in the back while I’m working or cleaning and it makes I’m so happy when you upload a new video! So happy to have fallen into this awesome hobby as a result of your hard work. Thank you so much, Richard!

My pulchra sling is eating a pinhead cricket rn. I started off with three slings and my pulchra is always walking around the enclosure almost at all times, eats prekilled pin head crickets twice a week and seems very hearty. I got it from fear not tarantulas about a month ago. They had an option the "make it a kit" or "bundle it" where they gave me everything I would need to start off with. Very convenient and showed up about three days after I ordered. I got the Pluchra, Punkin Patch, and I actually got a P. Irminia for free just for buying the other two. But the pulchra was my main purchase.

My mom(this is her account lol), cleaned the whole house 4 yrs ago and left my tarantulas (2 b.albo honduran, b.hamorii, g.pulchripes, C. Darlingi) outside under the heat of the sun and only my G.pulchripes survived (I was able to do thr ICU method). I just finished college and decided to recollect specimens, I just bought a balfourri, hamorii and beohmei slings and mature chroma, vagans, darlingi and a pair of boehmei m and f. The channel helped me refresh my mind on how to do things when it comes to T keeping. Hoping to see a vid that explains on feeder breeding ( lats/superworm/mealworm/ dubia etc.) Cheers from PH

Where do you get your terrestrial enclosures?? I’m about ready to transfer my tarantula to a larger enclosure and with more burrowing space but all of the acrylic enclosures are on the smaller side and all the larger ones have mesh tops? I don’t know how to find a large enough size with a tall enough height with acrylic top and ventilation… the only thing I can think of getting is a fish tank but that would require creating ventilation holes myself, and id much rather find one with it there already. Any suggestions?

i found these snaptite cereal containers at the dollar store here, clear plastic clear top, the sides have hinges that lock they come in square shapes and tall for the arboreals and have 2 different sizes of each 4 bucks for the tall ones 2 bucks for the smaller ones, and the plastics perfect, its not so brittle that it cracks the plastic when you try to drill holes in em, cross vent, toss in some substrate a few fake plants or hide and a water dish and bam, cheap enclosure

my favorite thing to do if you are going to go with a mesh lid, is to make a border on the inside of the lid on the mesh with some clear packaging tape so if the tarantula climbs onto the wall of the enclosure, it cant reach over the tape and latch onto the mesh.

This might sound dumb! But to me tarantulas I feel I could do well with bit crickets and other feeders I don’t know how to care for and everywhere I look makes it confusing… so I stick with crested geckos and a couple times month for them I’ll run get some feeders for a treat only one will eat them but like to give them once in a while. but still love your channel!

9:32 I just bought a heteroscodra maculata and now I got a bit of a problem, because it's container is top-opened and it's too small for anything bigger and my current small enslosure is occupied by my monocentropus balfouri communal of four, so I will probably buy another one for the heteroscodra maculata, because I hate arborial enclosures which are top-opened it's just asking for trouble if you ask me, because you always have the tarantula at the door because you will destroy webbing by opening so the tarantula will always have a bad attitude and is close to escaping

Hi! I bought an avicularia avicularia a while back from a pet shop… I know that that might not be recommended, but where I live you can only find them in pet shops and I thought that it would be okay since it was a spider. I actually was searching for a red knee or a Brazilian black but they said that for a beginner, you have to have a pink toe. I was a bit suspicious to say the least, even more suspicious since it was over prized and under the price tag was a much cheaper tag… I bought the little spider even though I was planing on getting an adult since I am a beginner to the hobby. As I said, I’m a beginner, but I knew that avicularia is an arboreal and what inclosure I should have since it was in a flat box. The so to say “spider expert” said that he would be fine in this flat box for a couple of months. She said she had plenty of spiders and that she was an expert. She was also very kind so I thought it was the right thing to keep him in the little flat box. Three weeks went, the spiderling never ate but I knew they could be without food for quite a while so I didn’t think of it that much. I was a bit worried that he didn’t give enough water since she said to spray one corner once a week, but she said they could drown and I did not want that to happen so I did as she said. Then, as you might have guessed, it past away. I saw it death curl and I was so sad. I rang to them and told them that I’d done everything they said and that it now had passed away. They said I should come up and show it, I did. They said it was… molting… I was so pissed and it told me that they knew not as much as they had said. There were spring tales eating of him?!! They said that another spider expert would call me yesterday, surprise, he never called… Never, NEVER, listen to what a pet shop has to say. I learned it the harsh way, do your own research. This was long, hopefully someone reads it and learns from my mistake…

If I tong feed my 2 inch juvie, and there is no chance of escape, is a ten gallon enclosure okay? I really don't see how it could be a problem when in nature, they're out in the wild anyway. And filling it high with substrate is no problem, either. I just love how my 10 gallon looks, lol. Please educate my amateur thoughts with your expert opinion. Thank you, and great channel!

I got a question my 5 year old brachypelma hamorii mexican red knee tarantula molted a week ago and still refuses food could their be any stress and also her fangs hardened up completely too and usually she does eat after a molt but of course when her fangs aren't soft and squishy anyway you got any ideas on what could be happening and what i could be doing And another thing i dropped in big chunks of salad for all the crickets to munch on too

I have a Brachypelma smithi and set up her enclosure exactly like you explained. I’ve had her for about 2,5 years now and just rehoused her to a acrylic enclosure with cross ventilation. I provided her with a hide but she never seems to use it and will just sit on top of the hide on display. Is this normal behavior? I haven’t seen her use her hide since I rehoused her and I’m slightly worried. Although I love seeing her on display I want her to feel safe!

I have a sub adult pink toe. Will she be okay to go in a 8x8x12 arboreal tarantula cribs enclosure?

Isn't there such a thing as semi fossorial? I would put the B boehmei in that category as it mostly lives as a terrestrial but will burrow at times.

What about enclosure placement??? Besides temperature, would tarantulas prefer full shade, part sun, a basement??? Mine lives on a shelf that gets full sun in the morning and indirect sun for the rest of the day. Would you say that's okay??? I THOROUGHLY ENJOY YOUR VIDEOS. I've recently added an Avicularia Juruensis (my very first T!) thanks to encouragement and education provided by yourself, Tarantula Cat, Dark Den & Exotics Lair. THANK YOU so much for helping me get over my fear of spiders. :)

Some people say that the venezuelan suntiger is semi-arboreal but in your videos you have them in an arboreal enclosure. I'm not sure what to believe :(
