Give it a go! I couldn’t keep my B12, Vit D, and hormones in optimal ranges after a couple years. Was religious about getting outside, exercising and using high quality supplements. Always felt bloated and lethargic as a result. It wasn’t the silver bullet for my health, unfortunately. I was able to restore these levels and my vitality after changing diets. Just sharing a personal anecdote. Glad to see that you feel great, keep up the good work! 💪

@@asplmn thanks for the advice, I became vegetarian in the beginning of the year and since then, I’ve never felt lethargic yet and was bloated only in the beginning. Right now I feel absolutely good

There's this YT vid and this guy explains with actual research how we can get enough ALA in adequate amounts to convert to DHA and EPA. Flax seed, chia seeds, walnuts. I put about 1/4 a cup of walnuts in a coffee grinder ànd grind them so its almost powder. Break them in half first. Just 10 brief hits or less on the button. I mix it with my oatmeal or breakfast cereal.

Dr Kim Williams who was the head of the American College of Cardiology. He said he teaches to be up to date all doctors should just focus on LDL. McDougall and other PP MDs have caught on.

One of the other youtubers showed an article where they looked at survival rates for cancer patients who had B12 supplementation during treatment or before. Both groups who had B12 supplementation had lower survival outcomes.

There are so many factors involved in any research study. Random selection, patients & researchers not knowing if they're getting a placebo or the real thing, publication in a respected medical journal where the Whole process is examined by others & most important, can the study be replicated elsewhere with same results? One more thing, sample size is huge. The fewer the study objects you have, the less chance you can apply the results to the general population. So take "research findings" with a grain of salt. Forgot also the importance of who is doing the study & who is funding it.

You protein intake is low as evidenced by low BUN 8. Low total protein 6.8 and low globulin 2.1 could also indicate some nutritional deficiencies. TSH of 3.61 is a bit high, better to be less than 2. In addition to iodine, thyroid needs a lot of other minerals, so make sure you’re not low on minerals. Also, your platelet is a bit high, you may want to investigate.

Yep! I had been following his recommendation of taking at least 2000 mcg a week (I did 1000 mcg 2-3 times a week), but now I've bumped that up to daily since my levels were a little low.

Also check your omega index. I tested mine and it was ridiculously low. I'm now supplementing DHA and EPA and it makes a massive positive difference. I'm also wondering if vegans need to test choline and carnitine.

Your B12 is SUPER LOW!!! I had crazy neurological symptoms after starting Dr Goldners protocol I did her rapid recovery and the neurologist at Weill Cornell tested my B12 which was in the 300’s and told me that a level of 300 B12 can cause permanent nerve damage. Needs to be upper range. One also needs folate to absorb B12 I take seeking health methylfolate and hydrox adeno B12 I only take 1/2 a tablet per day sometimes I skip days bc it’s potent.

@@showmemovegan I was surprised because I didn’t realize the importance of B12 but I thought I had multiple sclerosis the neurological symptoms were so bad and the only thing that the neurologist could find after a lot of testing including an MRI was low B12, which was in the 300’s. He said that was low enough to cause neurological symptoms.

I came across your video while looking for something else. I’ll say this - tip my hat 👒 off to you being a healthy vegan. 👍🏽Obviously it agrees with you and your body has adapted. In the early 2000’s I tried doing so three times. My nails broke something fierce each and every time. I was hungry all the time. So not fun or good. As it’s said, “three strikes and you’re out.” Months before the Covid-19 lockdown, I decided to remove beef, chicken, and dairy. I kept my green veggies, pastured eggs, egg whites, and wild caught salmon. The nightshades I removed and still do to this very day. They mess with my arthritic condition. I was able to keep this up one full year and four to five months. As luck would have it, surprisingly my nails started to chip, peel, and split. Yes, I was taking my vitamins. Starches I just don’t do. Many are lectin heavy and they aren’t filling for me. Twenty or so minutes later I’m hungry again. No thank you. The gluten is too problematic. I don’t trust anything made with any kind of flour or grains. No thank you. Histamine issues and leaky gut I recently learned are very closely related. That being said, both are kind of hard to diagnose too. Hives and the itching are no joke. I’m currently trying to follow a low histamine eating plan.

I'm so sorry to hear you've had a hard time with it! Sounds like we've had the opposite experience. My hair and nails became much stronger since I added more fresh fruits and veggies to my diet. And when I still ate animal products and processed foods, I used to be hungry all the time and had to eat about every hour to feel ok, but now I can go many hours without eating and feel fine. I hope you can find a good dietitian that can help you find your best diet. I spent years on all kinds of elimination diets with no success so I can understand the struggle. Wishing you well in your journey!❤

@@showmemovegan … Thank you for your input. I’ve always considered vegans very lucky individuals. Especially if they are eating healthy 80% of the time. Presently I am doing okay with again, the eggs, salmon, herbal teas, green veggies, simple salads, and fruits. No citrus as they are high in histamines along with a few others. Low glycemic definitely. The other animal proteins (no beef) I’m keeping them at an arms distance. Only when I feel the need for a heavier protein.

@@houserdiane you're welcome! Glad to hear you're doing ok. Have you heard of "The Fiber Fueled Cookbook" by Dr. Will Bulsiewicz? He talks about histamine and has a low histamine protocol in there that might be useful.

Hi - Dr William Roberts explains that lower levels of HDL are normal when Total Cholesterol is in its "normal" range - ie lower than 150 for TC - he is the Executive Director of the Center of Cardiology of Baylor University and an authority of Cholesterol research with something like 1300 peer reviewed articles published in his lifetime - one statement from a news letter he published is the reason I became vegan almost 16 years ago: omnivores and carnivores are animals that cannot develop atherosclerosis - only herbivores can develop atherosclerosis - so from his publications I learned that only herbivores can develop atherosclerosis and the only way they do so is by eating atherogenic food - the most atherogenic food being egg yolk followed by dairy products followed by meat as he explains (fish is also atherogenic for those who wonder) - proving beyond the shadow of a doubt that humans are part of the herbivore group and certainly not omnivores or carnivores since all of us humans are subject to develop atherosclerosis. So basically humans are of the herbivore group (we're a particular type of herbivore with a single stomach a bit similar to gorillas for example so we're mainly granivores + frugivores) and most humans eat the food of omnivores which is by definition atherogenic to us herbivores thereby causing all non vegan humans to develop atherosclerosis (ie heart disease).

How are your omega 3 levels? I heard vegans are more likely to experience mental decline with age unless they supplement w algae oil.

@showmemovegan 4 ай бұрын
Hi there! I actually recently had my levels tested and they were a little lower than "normal." I don't think there is really definitive research yet about what optimal levels are or whether supplementation is necessary, but I did go ahead and start taking an algae supplement recently just in case.
@ExtraAtEase

Good to hear! I’m planning on testing my levels soon and have been supplementing with algae oil for a few months. Hoping I land somewhere in the 5-6% range which seems ideal based on studies.
