Fenugreek is my favourite! My hair is tailbone length because of it. I soak the seeds in water with cloves and rosemary for a week at the least (until the water gets thick, almost like aloe gel). I use this water to moisturise my hair once a week between washes. Try it!

Add curd to the paste (before straining), use less fenugreek (same as you recommended). Also it’s a usual practice in my country to add twice the amount of Pre-soaked mung bean to the mix before grinding. Basically less fenugreek, more curd/mung bean seeds.

What people don’t know is that fenugreek is exactly the same as a protein treatment which is not all hair (protein sensitive) can tolerate which in return can make the hair stiff and hard even cause hair damage, it’s great for hair, but high in protein content. Low porosity hair doesn’t need protein much as once a month is more than enough.. It’s no different from it and rice water, hibiscus, cloves, eggs, mayonnaise etc.. We should use them with cautious specially for low porosity, I did big chop twice because of protein overload it was so severe which I didn’t know much about low porosity hair and I continued using rice water and other protein sources without knowing it was the same thing breaking my hair and making it stiff, dry etc… I know better now

Same! I RUINED my hair with rice water. I didn't know what low porosity hair even was and I'd never even heard of protein overload! Crazy that more people don't talk about this stuff! I ruined my hair all the way to the root after working hard to grow it out. Two years down the drain but at least I learned a valuable lesson. I don't touch protein now. I was gonna try fenugreek but honestly my hair is fine right now, maybe i should leave well enough alone

Fenugreek paste penetrates and smooths my low porosity, 3B hair. The first time I tried it the wash out was difficult because it's grainy and tends to bind, so I moved to grinding 2 tablespoons of seeds ( you don't need much because it expands), adding warm water gradually as it expands, and then I blending the mixture on high to get it as smooth as possible; then I apply to detangled sectioned hair, braid or twist those sections during the application (overnight), and then rinsing those individual sections to avoid a tangled mess for next level results.

So many herbs we use could make hair stiff and dry. We should just listen to our hair at the moment and do what it takes to keep the balance. I know this but again went a little over board with herbs without balancing moisture and elasticity. These ingredients are wonderful to have in our arsenal

Never thought to use it in paste form. I always make a Aloe Vera juice and fenugreek seed gel, by letting the seeds soak in the aloe juice for at least 2-3weeks at room temperature. It’s amazing. I even combined that mixture with okra gel that I freshly make. It has tons of slip and does amazing with detangling my type 4 hair. The fenugreek and aloe gel can last a long time outside of the refrigerator. I have been using this stuff for the past 2.5 years. This year I will start adding the fenugreek to my smoothies.

Then I freeze it and use it on my hair frequently every week. I massage my scalp. I have been frequent with this and I will say it works. It just takes time and consistency. I also started doing onion juice masks this month I will see how that works. some fengreek tend to have stronger smell and some light smell so try to go for the light smell one ,,i find that sweating (workout in warm temp.) and drinking lots of water , lemon ,strwberry juice or ginger and mint tea help to remove the smell from the skin faster and using a good body wash . however useing it during the weekend will be the safest option.

Are you not supposed to deep condition after using it as a mask because it is a treatment right?

I feel that using a little bit of any aryuvedic herbs is best. Henna and amla are my herbs of choice. I mix them with my moisturizing deep conditioners. Game changer.

Exactly, if these herbs really are as powerful as they’re known to be, then people need to treat them as such.

How do you use henna and Amla in your condition?
@rhondadenis3469

@@MulengaMalema I make Henna and Amla gloss bars. You can find lots of recipes on KZbin. I melt the bar and mix it with any moisturizing deep conditioner that I have on hand. Then I apply it to shampooed hair. Leave it on for an hour then rinse and use a rinse out conditioner to make sure all of the powders are rinsed away. Then style as usual. I hope this helps.

@@MulengaMalema One way is to simply take a spoonful of each powder and stir them into a few scoops of conditioner. Another way is to hydrate the powders with warm water to a thick consistency and then add it ti the conditioner conditioner. My personal favorite, is to make a tea from the powders and add some to the deep conditioner and use a couple drops of preservative if I’ve made a big batch. I like using this on protective styles to avoid that leftover powdery residue.

I'm experienced moisture 1 time and then severe dryness another time 🤷🏾‍♀️. I'm choosing to use it a mist now - can't go wrong with that.

The best way to use fenugreek without leaving it in, is straining it using a cheesecloth or pantyhose.

Not the paste. Lol. I only used the tea after it got stuck in my hair and attracted fruit flies. It took me forever to pick that sharp stuff out of my strands, and I wear my hair short.

Which one is better, fenugreek seeds or the powder?
@VyalaBloom
@VyalaBloom Жыл бұрын
Both are great! It’s a matter of personal preference really. I prefer whole seeds as I feel like they last longer in storage, they’re versatile, and honestly they’re just more fun to use. My biggest issue with powder is that it’s rarely fine enough to be able to just add some water and have a smooth paste immediately. And so you still need to go through a similar process making fenugreek paste as you would with whole seeds (recipe for this is in the description box). You may get a more potent fenugreek tea using the powder (though I have not tried this).
