19 years ago, New York City was in chaos with 9/11, crazy I remember having the day off from work and hearing the news on every radio station, driving around, I wish I had internet, youtube and a computer back then when all that was going on, even though youtube didn't exist yet and the internet was nothing like it is today, that's the good thing about internet and social media now, you can see alot more what's going on in the world today than back then, back then was boring, I didn't visit New York until after 9/11 in 2003, so never had a chance to see the twin towers and haven't been back there since 2009, keep up the great videos of walking around New York though, stay safe

Hi M.R. 43. There were some documentaries made which captured that sad day. Hard to watch but informative. I’m sure they’ll be shown on the anniversary 2021. Just saw one children of 911 where they lost a father or a mother. Take care.

Wow, it's really hustling and bustling over there.. I used to live in a much quieter part of Woodside, south of Queens Blvd near the border of Maspeth.. It's mostly just residential over that way, not really too much going on in terms of nightlife or shopping areas..

it should be full of small family businesses with authentic cuisine, not chains. None of those brands named serve the best of authentic Filipino cooking.

At the one grocery store it has a picture of a chicken, a cow, a fish, and what almost looks like a dog! Hopefully that was a picture of a goat! 😳 Interesting to see this part of the city! Seems very brave to be walking alone after dark!

After all of your efforts to keep politics out of this, KZbin spoils it with political ads! Your Spanish accent is definitely improving, by the way. And what's with the lack of street lighting at 9:30? That is weird.

Chinatown, Koreatown, Little Manila, Little Italy, Germantown etc. etc. ... Maybe racism exists because of towns like this. Why can’t we all just live together without the misnomers or am I just an idiot???
@j134679
@j134679 2 жыл бұрын
It's precisely because of racism that othered cultures are forced to bunch together for protection... Little Manilas die out quick though because 2nd generation Filipinos tend to move away & integrate into cheaper suburbs, while a lot of senior citizens move back to the Philippines. The one in San Francisco is basically just a name now as everyone moved to cheaper Daly City or across the bay. The one in LA is also just a handful of businesses now as they spread out further north in the valley, south towards Carson/Orange County, and east into West Covina. New York's got more condensed into just the corner of 69th street as both directions of Roosevelt Ave are major transport hubs with higher rents. I think the only one that stayed strong was the one in Vancouver in Canada, but then the real estate market there is wild so it probably made it hard to move away. Not uncommon for adult children to stay with parents.
