For anyone with a Costco membership, I highly recommend their Kirkland brand baby wipes, you get a lot for the price and they are unscented, very soft, and alcohol free. They also don't foam and aren't super wet like some brands. It takes about 2-3 months to get through a whole box for us.

I totally agree! The only downside I've found with these ones is they seem to make my baby's face break out in a little rash if I use them to wipe his face.. but they're fine for his booty 😄

100% agree with Costco diapers and wipes. Their pull-ups are awesome for toddlers, too. Some Costcos also sell the Honest brand shampoo/bodywash in a two-pack! They have great deals on Graco 4ever car seats, fair prices on formula, cute baby and kids clothes, and baby-friendly snacks for when kiddo starts weaning. Having a Coscto membership has been very worthwhile for our family.

A little tip on the clothes, you can get a TON of awesome baby clothes second-hand at thrift stores or online shops like Facebook Marketplace and such for much cheaper than at stores. Babies outgrow stuff much faster than people are expecting so a lot of the stuff is in perfect condition. Speaking of babies outgrowing things quickly, when you’re shopping, keep in mind to get things for different stages of development, lots of people get an entire four-season wardrobe for their baby in all new born sizes, forgetting that their baby will be a VERY different size in a couple months.

Hear me out, after a ton of researching, Target brands diapers are the cheapest on the market. At least on the East Coast. Target also is the only store that does cash back and gift cards for regularly purchasing. All you need to do is give them your phone number and the app will send you notifications of sales (which are often every other day or weekly) and you get money back for every dollar you spend. Seriously, way better than the Pampers diaper app. I wish I could like Luv diapers or Walmart brand but they barely hold anything and they tear so easily - and this is a learning curve from 3 kids.
@SamIAm3432
@SamIAm3432 8 ай бұрын
I find target diapers aren't as absorbent so I use far more. I personally go with Costco for my kids. They're the same as Huggies little movers at a much lower cost. It's so dependent on the child though. I'm a nanny and one of my charges is in nothing but Luvs because she seems to break out from other diapers.

@@SamIAm3432 Costco diapers are great but some folks have to consider paying the membership and even without the membership, it’s still more expensive than Target. I do like the quality though and I feel Target has the same absorption. I have some chunky butt babies and need a diaper that can handle their ish. lol But I get it, different strokes for different folks.

Water wipes for the win for newborns! I was a doubter but they are the onli wipes that don't give my newborns diaper rash. I used paper towels and a bowl of water for the first few months with my first two. Then I discovered water wipes withy third. Now they are my go-to baby shower gift.

If you can get one of those infrared thermometers (like they use at the airport etc), it's worth the extra cost. I don't mean those strips that go on the forehead - those aren't accurate. But the ones that digitally measure from the forehead are great because you don't have to wake up your baby and you can check easily and as often as you like. Fevers usually come on at night. And fevers don't usually need to be treated, but they are an excellent indicator of infection.

I love those too. Just beware that there is a delay, so if the temperature is increasing rapidly it will take 30min-1hour before the infrared catches up to core temperature. This has been an issue only once in our two babies, so just keep a core termometer as well.

Don‘t sleep on the Hello Bello wipes y‘all! They pull out of the package nicely one-handed, don‘t stretch like the Pampers wipes, they‘re textured on one side which helps with messy poops and they‘re cheaper per wipe than Huggies when you buy the big box. (Would love to try the Kirkland wipes everyone raves about but there‘s no Costco where I live)

There is a padded flower that fits in the sink that i use for my babies baths. You press it into the sink and it cushions the sink for them. Less fuss than baby tubs and you dont have to bed over like with a tub. I also put a baby towel in it and wrap the wet towel around them to keep them warm since i dont want to completely submerge them.

The windi is my secret weapon and I love giving them to new moms, they are SO helpful when you need them. Love all the other musts, but want to add the Boogie brand spray diaper rash cream is clutch with a newborn! I can literally spray diaper cream on half asleep and know it’s doing its job on those sweet baby cheeks. Also Kirkland wipes are the best.

I got one of those butt spatulas for diaper cream and I think it was used for it's purpose once. The rest of the time until we lost is we would use it to make silly little slappy noises on his belly with the spatula part or the suction cup. I recommend only if you need something easy to clean to make diaper changes more silly for everyone involved, there were some days that making those silly noises really helped fix my son's mood while changing 😂❤

If you're expecting a lot people to gift you diapers, ask for various sizes. We had WAYYYY too many new born and size 1 diapers and ended up donating most of them when our baby shot up in weight. Yes, you'll go through a lot of diapers, but it's nice to have a few boxes of 1-2 sizes bigger for when the time comes (if you have space to store them)

Personal preference as a mom of 3, target brand (Cloud Island) and Walmart brand (Wonder Nation) have the best cotton pajamas. They are the least expensive and the zipper starts at the bottom. Also, don’t be afraid to try Walmart, Sam’s or target brand diapers. Much more affordable and work well enough for most people. Praying you have a good rest of your pregnancy and a quick and easy L&D.

Personally, as a mom of 3 I don’t ever use onesies that have the second zipper/never actually unzip from the bottom. BECAUSE…. If you have it opened from the foot and the clothing gets *soiled* for many styles you have to zip back down towards that foot in order to un-zip in a full clothing removal way. Which means inserting the child back into a soiled garment. I’ve had to do it! Never again! Instead if I’m concerned about baby staying warm I just put a t-shirt with snaps on under the zip up, then the torso has a layer in the change. (Also, for my kids I still had to unzip practically all the way up to get their legs out which exposed them enough it really defeated the purpose of zipping up from the feet anyways)

❤ My first we used Luvs...they were great back in 2010. However in 2013 they changed or rebranded and lost all ability to hold in major messes. They once had been the best. We tried Pampers and found that they were higher priced than Huggies but didn't hold up as well. So Huggies it was until they out grew diapers. Honest was there but they were the super expensive brand back then. Target brand was also great until 2013 and they rebranded also. Now that I think of it, I wonder if they were owned by the same brand as Luvs. Either way, I'm so very glad to be away from diapers 😅

I prefer the buttons I don’t like that the zipper pops up. I prefer pampers for older babies and Millie moon for younger babies. The green Enfamil for easy to go to bathroom. Nido for toddlers that don’t eat or bird eat. No swing or chair for baby. But the foam mat for floor and Bobby to prop them up and baby play pin that are plastic and you can change the shape to large and small. bassinet is a must or pack n play that has the attachment.

No hate here 💜 but I have a different experience. I work in childcare and find water wipes to be my least favorite, and I've actually had babies react to the citric acid. They work really well on some kids who are easy to wipe. There's no polite way to explain it, but some babies have smoother bottoms and less sticky poop. Water wipes work great for those. But for babies who aren't like that, they are too small and tear too easily. & I've seen this opinion from many other childcare providers lol. They're cheap enough that it doesn't hurt to buy them and test if they work well for your baby! But my personal recommendation for most babies is Huggies brand wipes, or Kirkland for a cheaper option.
