@Jack-eo5fn
@Jack-eo5fn 2 жыл бұрын
AA did not “break in” to that house. It was a wide open construction site. On the stand McMichael said it made him angry that AA was walking around the construction site so “nonchalantly.” So black people should walk through construction sites with their heads down? AA was nonchalant because he had nothing to hide, no reason to sneak or cower. I wish the prosecutor would just ask McMichael, “what did you think AA stole from that construction site? You think he stole the homeowner’s jewelry? You think he found some cash under the sofa cushion? What exactly did he get away with that makes you so suspicious and enraged that you chased him down and killed him?”

If the offense is a felony and the offender is escaping or attempting to escape, a private person may arrest him upon reasonable and probable grounds of suspicion. 1. Trespassing is a misdemeanor 2. He didnt actually see it ( his & Gregs own words not mine ) so they didnt even meet the standard needed to make a citizens arrest. 3. Greg admitted to saying to Arbery " Stop or ill blow your fkn head off. " At that point it becomes a threat to Arbery an he has every right to defend himself. In the cross examination, the prosecutor brought attention to the fact that there was nothing in Travis’s written statement to the police that he actually said to Mr. Arbery that the police were coming. The reason is because Mr. Arbery never stopped long enough for Travis to have any kind of conversation with him. So, she caught him in a lie that time. I’ve watched this footage of the trial many times and I still can’t get over the arrogance of the McMichaels in their belief that Amahaud had the obligation to stop and talk to them just because they barked orders at him to do so. I’m sure in their prison cells that on a daily basis they regret not minding their own business and leaving Amhaud Arbery to just jog in peace.

The prosecutor told Travis that he could have said something to the effect of: Dad, this is a bad idea that could go horribly wrong for us. If you provoke the violent encounter, you don’t get to claim self defense. Not that Amhaud stole anything, but even if he had, theft of replaceable “stuff” does not give you the right to pull a weapon on someone, let alone kill them.

Ok So he took the gun out to deter him after they literally chased him down. Doesn't that go against the whole chase itself? If he wanted to deter then he would have stayed in the truck and let Ahmad continue to run on his own. There was no need for him to deter Ahmad when they were the one chasing him. He wasn't chasing them. I really hope the prosecutor lights his lies up tomorrow 🤞🏾

@@nightwithoutstars9415 chuckle , “The problems that led to the Civil War are the same problems today-big, intrusive government. The reason we don’t face the specter of another Civil War is because today’s Americans don’t have yesteryear’s spirit of liberty and constitutional respect, and political statesmanship is in short supply. Actually, the war of 1861 was not a civil war. A civil war is a conflict between two or more factions trying to take over a government. In 1861, Confederate President Jefferson Davis was no more interested in taking over Washington than George Washington was interested in taking over England in 1776. Like Washington, Davis was seeking independence. Therefore, the war of 1861 should be called “The War Between the States” or the “War for Southern Independence.” The more bitter southerner might call it the “War of Northern Aggression.” History books have misled today’s Americans to believe the war was fought to free slaves. Statements from the time suggest otherwise. In President Lincoln’s first inaugural address, he said, “I have no purpose, directly or indirectly, to interfere with the institution of slavery in the states where it exists. I believe I have no lawful right to do so.” During the war, in an 1862 letter to the New York Daily Tribune editor Horace Greeley, Lincoln said, “My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and it is not either to save or destroy slavery.” A recent article by Baltimore’s Loyola College Professor Thomas DiLorenzo titled “The Great Centralizer,” in The Independent Review (Fall 1998) cites quotation after quotation of similar northern sentiment about slavery. Lincoln’s intentions, as well as that of many northern politicians, were summarized by Stephen Douglas during the presidential debates. Douglas accused Lincoln of wanting to “impose on the nation a uniformity of local laws and institutions and a moral homogeneity dictated by the central government” that “place at defiance the intentions of the republic’s founders.” Douglas was right, and Lincoln’s vision for our nation has now been accomplished beyond anything he could have possibly dreamed. A precursor for a War Between the States came in 1832, when South Carolina called a convention to nullify tariff acts of 1828 and 1832, referred to as the “Tariffs of Abominations.” A compromise lowering the tariff was reached, averting secession and possibly war. The North favored protective tariffs for their manufacturing industry. The South, which exported agricultural products to and imported manufactured goods from Europe, favored free trade and was hurt by the tariffs. Plus, a northern-dominated Congress enacted laws similar to Britain’s Navigation Acts to protect northern shipping interests. Shortly after Lincoln’s election, Congress passed the highly protectionist Morrill tariffs. That’s when the South seceded, setting up a new government. Their constitution was nearly identical to the U.S. Constitution except that it outlawed protectionist tariffs, business handouts and mandated a two-thirds majority vote for all spending measures. The only good coming from the War Between the States was the abolition of slavery. The great principle enunciated in the Declaration of Independence that “Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of-the governed” was overturned by force of arms. By destroying the states’ right to secession, Abraham Lincoln opened the door to the kind of unconstrained, despotic, arrogant government we have today, something the framers of the Constitution could not have possibly imagined. Not to be an ass but you sound like a modern day British sympathizer ...

At the start of the testimony you can see where TM is telling the truth about where he lived and military training. His words flow very smoothly but when he talks about his confrontation with AA he is stumbling all over the place and his verbiage makes no sense. They are just a bunch of jumbled phrases that don't fit together. Also if he was trained to de-escalate situations why would he pursue AA in an unmarked truck bearing a confederate license plate. He would have to know that some African Americans associate that with fear of racial bias. He would have to know that AA might be afraid of him for that reason; too afraid to stop. In fact why would he drive around with a license plate like that in the first place if he de=escalated situations. There are plenty of neutral Southern Pride license plates that he could use.

@@anabelleigh5745 well whoop tee doo, I'm from Georgia too ! And in my 68 years I found out that I qualify for the "Sons of Confederate Veterans" and "Sons of the American Revolution" organizations. You've bought the bullshit lie taught in the public sch(F)ool indoctrination system... Anyway, those 3 got what they deserve ... Peacefully Professionally Legally Lawfully! The Seven Southern States seceded lawfully and peacefully; and why wouldn't they? Why would the South have any desire to war with the North? The seceded states population numbered 5 million while the United States population numbered 26 million. The North had far more resources than the South. Why would the South want a War with the North? The obvious answer is, The South didn't want a war with the North. All that the South wanted was to be left alone. The South had recreated the government they initially agreed to, with a practically identical Constitution. They were on their way to great success. They would be trading freely with Europe and others all around the world. Imagine the Confederate States of America trading their goods without any interference from Washington DC. It would have been a sight to behold. The Southern tax dollars would stay in the South and be used in the South. No more Southern dollars being spent on Northern infrastructure. Unfortunately, for all of us, we can only imagine how successful the South would have been. The South obviously didn't want a war with the North. So the question has to be, why did Washington DC create the war? Would it be too much for us to believe it had to do with money, power and control? We know that's why all wars are fought, so why would believing that be difficult? Is it a stretch to believe the War was very purposefully started for money, power and control? Based on history it's the best bet. So why is it so difficult to accept? It's very difficult to accept because U.S. Citizens starting at 5 years of age go through 13 years of mandatory indoctrination and brainwashing. You spend the first 25 years of your life learning the romantic story about Northern men grabbing their rifles and giving their lives to free slaves, and that's hard to shake off, especially if the story is showing you in the most favorable light.
