6:10 so I've been to that beach, there are warnings EVERYWHERE and I was on a schooltrip so we werent even allowed to go close I might be misremembering but not only would you probably freeze up in the water instantly, the waves are incredibly powerful and the second they sweep you out even a bit you’re done for. I believe there's a pretty famous photo of a tourist being swept away, but again i may be wrong
@KristinnEs2 ай бұрын
Yup, the beach is deadly. The wave pulls you out and there is a big drop not far beyond the visible beach which the water pulls you down into if you are unlucky. Do not ignore warnings here, nature is out to kill you.
@anakinskywalker4732 ай бұрын
Yeah I think the biggest danger from these waves is the power. I’ve been to that exact beach On a school trip and there are warnings in all major languages and a traffic light warning sign. The powerful waves can come out of nowhere, coming in a lot further than the other waves/tide.
@infin8ee2 ай бұрын
It's truly beautiful but totally ridiculous what they're doing. All for Instagram probably. We see tourist's getting caught all the time. Of course you won't freeze in Australian oceans!
@SunbeamDrxgons12 күн бұрын
They are creeper waves. They are slightly different from other waves by the fact that they suck you out to sea instead of just towards the shore. They sort of go over and the back towards the ocean, so it's likely that if someone got stuck in one, especially amll children or pets, they could get into some bad situations.
@grw_gg2 ай бұрын
6:10 I’ve been to this beach in Iceland before and, before you can even step foot on the beach, there are loads of safety warnings about the dangers of the beach. The reason why it’s so dangerous is because the undercurrent when a wave washes up on the shore is extremely strong. That’s why they were falling over when they were running back after taking their picture. If you get caught in it, you can very easily get dragged under the surface and caught in an underwater current. When I visited, everyone was just standing to the top end of the beach, going nowhere near the sea. It’s not a bear h that’s meant for swimming, really. Also, judging by what they did in the video (running back to shore after taking the photo) actually says that they did read the safety instructions before deciding to do that. They knew they had to run back up and that they weren’t meant to go near the water, but they did it anyway. They were extremely lucky that they didn’t get killed when doing that.

Moist Critical made a video about this too, and then later apologized for making fun of him without the full context.

Further, Judge Simpson is disappointed that the defendant would lie to the court.

Those waves are vicious. They WILL pull you in. An entire family went missing after they got too close to the water, and the clip doesn't do it justice how terrifying those waves are. Zoom court became a thing during covid. For minor cases like traffic infractions reducing the number of people in the court room greatly reduced the risk of illness. After the majority of the threat was gone they continued to do it because it's cheaper. They can quickly swap cases, have defendents go on breakout sessions with their lawyer while they do another case, etc. It basically just streamlined a lot of things and avoided defendants needing to spend all day waiting for their name to be called at the court freeing them up to do other things waiting to be called. Basically it's a massive win-win for small cases. It's a privilege though, it can be revoked if the judge thinks you're a flight risk, not paying attention, or it endangers other people(like the idiot who joined on his phone while performing surgery).
