That wasn't as bad as I thought. For my first college dorm, it was about maybe 2 sq ft larger. But I had a sink in my room. The bathroom was down the hall. 40 girls, 2 pay telephones, 15 shower stalls, 10 toilets (only 5 ever worked on any given day) and an elevator from 1938. I transferred after my freshman year! In actuality, I wanted to leave after the second week!

Hey Justin I believe your shared bathroom is called a wet bath in the RV world. There two kinds of bathrooms in RVs (I believe) are a wet bath and dry bath. A wet bath toilet, shower, and sink all in one small area. While a dry bath is the shower is separate from the toilet and sink like any hotel room bathroom.

Hey Justin, just happened to stumble across your vlog. I found this video very interesting, as I am ex-Navy. If you think your personal space is limited there, consider the fact that there are aircraft carriers with bunks for 400 in the same room. Bunks are 3 high, and the majority of your personal storage is in a compartment under your mattress. The Chief Petty Officers quarters on my last ship including berthing for about a dozen, with an accompanying lounge and small galley. Bear in mind, this was for sailors with between 12 and 25 years of service, if not more. So..... you're lucky. :-)

the short answer is no, you will be able to unlock the door from both sides, but you will need something that is flat and can withstand a little force. The reason for this is in the event of a fire or similar incidents, those in the crew who are firefighters / able sailors shall be able to search the entire ship. I have worked as a motorman apprentice for 2 years on a Norwegian cruse liner.

Mercy, I wanted to work on a cruise ship for so long. But after seeing and hearing of your experience, I am relieved that I didn't go for a job as the standard Bar, Waiter, Housekeeping Attendant. The pay it would be substandard even given the fact that I am American. I would be paid to the same standard as countrymen and women from other countries. I am better off just cruising as a passenger as often as my budget permits.
@renee3045 жыл бұрын
Rodney Morgan Brown This isn’t true at all. I worked on the Pride of American and they pay you according to the country that you live in. That is why you don’t see many Americans on international ships since they have to pay Americans the most. They’re not going to pay Americans the same amount of money they would pay someone that lives in the Philippines. When I was on the Getaway two months ago, this guy from the Philippines said he made like $1,000 a month. When I worked on the ship 9 years ago. I was making at least $2,500 a month. We both did the same job. So it all depends on the country you live in. Just to also let you know, hospitality works the most amount of hours. Back then we were working 70 to 80 hours a week. I think now it is 60.
@JSHIPLIFE5 жыл бұрын
Rodney Morgan Brown Honestly I couldn’t say for sure since the only American I know in house keeping on my ship is the manager. However I’m sure she makes a decent living. dang that sholiet is crazy small, like an RV toilet. The room is small and I could maybe deal with that since I'm assuming one could go elsewhere on the ship. But such a small toilet idk....lol
