Was the gaming headset a trs or ts connector? May be part of the problem if it’s the wrong jack type.

It was this one - www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0D3DDK5VM?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

Theoretically shouldn’t have had a problem. The documentation for the move claims the microphone input is stereo. That has a trs connector. Unless gaming headsets wire that differently. Ill have to try mine.

Ah, the perennial problem of using a mic with portable gear like this - The best results I’ve had have been from some kind of condenser mic that takes battery power. I use a AKG C1000s. You’ll need some kind of XLR to 3.5mm converter of course.
@JamesLevine-p6lАй бұрын
beat me to it. Yeah, I'd say stick with a mic that has battery power. I've got the AT822 (stereo) and a vintage Nakamichi (modular capsule). Or just do your field recording away from the device and upload them at move.local No gooseneck or lav mic is going to work. I mean, if you have a wireless pack, the output from the receiver would be mic/no phantom. You could deploy your field recording that way...

@@JamesLevine-p6l Have you guys tried the Irig I used in the video?
@JamesLevine-p6l27 күн бұрын
@@pushpatterns trig==trick? You mean using the irig preamp? No I haven't. I do have some things like that, now that you mention it. Many wireless systems don't offer phantom power, so I do have an apparatus like this. But likely I'd stay with either the stereo mic that I have or any mic that doesn't require more parts to carry around. Let me know if that's what you asked :)

@@JamesLevine-p6l I'm using the iRig preamp in the video. It offers phantom power and direct monitoring. It runs on a couple of batteries, making it super portable.
@JamesLevine-p6l27 күн бұрын
@@pushpatterns oooo. now direct monitoring is a great enhancement. That would pair well with Push 3, seeing as monitoring on there is only after the A-D conversion...If you have the mics that you want to use already, it's a good solution

Portable? The different Zoom mics might work. My H5 has line out and headphone out and several different mics available and windshields
@pushpatternsАй бұрын
That's a fantastic idea! The Zoom microphones could work well!
