Try haiga rice. Its 70% milled japanese shortgrain, it gets rid of the outer layer of brown that can taste the most cardboardy, but it still leaves some on and includes the germ. So you're more likely to enjoy more of it and not feel like a chore. Try Tamaki brand is saving money, or Rice Factory from NY if you want peak flavor fresh milled to order. No not really. Fiber merely creates poop because it is indigestible plant matter and need to be expelled quickly. It's part of the reason why nutrients are difficult (if at all possible) to be absorbed from plant matter. Fiber is not friendly on the gut and is why Gastroenterologist's advice against all fiber in patients who are leading up to, or returning from, colorectal surgery, or who are experiencing general bowel distress. A life without fiber does not lead to constipation, as the fat being consumed from one's diet (in addition to proper hydration) will soften the stool appropriately, nor will the colon be bombarded by a jam from excess (and unnecessary) amounts of fiber stool.

BINGO! Rice is almost devoid of any nutrients. It's about the same nutrient and satiety level as table sugar (not exaggerating). It's one of the worse foods you can use on a diet. Potatoes are the exact opposite. They are one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet, and they also are considered the most satiating food you can eat (boiled, baked, microwaved). Eating rice as a staple while dieting to me is like some sort of forced torture.

@@warrenhoffman653 phytic acid is anti inflammatory and great for your health, and brown rice doesn't have a huge glycemic index like white rice. No insulin spike, much more b vitamins and zinc. The only issue with brown rice is its higher arsenic content, but its offset by all of its benefits due to the fact it is not as refined as white rice.
