Several years ago I made a lot of changes to my lifestyle. One of those things was cutting out processed sugar, white bread, soda, sweet coffee drinks etc (for the majority of the time, I will still have a treat if I want to). I did not give up fruit. Blueberries and blackberries are my sweets now. Love them. I did that for my overall health, but it was fascinating to learn it helps my skin too.

@SuperBranFlakez sugar in an orange is fructose. Table sugar is sucrose, which is fructose + glucose. Many processed foods simply have extreme high concentrations of these simple sugars, where the concentration isn't nearly as high in fruits and vegetables. The sugars are the same in both but fruits and vegetables have healthy levels where things like soda do not.

Great video, the more people know about AGEs the better! I agree with everything, but some fruits do need to be limited in consumption. Dried fruits in particular, like dates and dried berries, contain high amounts of fructose. They’re also very high glycemic index foods and are often sold with added sugar on top of the high natural sugars. These fruit are as bad eating a cake.

What a Happy News video ! I love whole fruit & tire of being told how bad it is for me. If I blend up a peeled lemon , I often add in a peeled orange to help sweeten it, but then get a guilt trip too c/o the Keto diet gurus !! The only worry with fruit is the acid on your teeth afterwards. Rinse off with water & get saliva flowing to neutralise ph eg chew a gum or take a little cheese or milk which are alkaline

Yes, I use some Rice Vinegar in my marinade chicken breast and it gives it a boost of flavor on my 'regular' marinade of bone broth, seasonings, water, Extra Virgin Olive Oil - let all that marinade in the fridge for UPTO 24 hours (not always that long) and then oven bake (covered in glass/ pyrex dish) on 375F for 1.5hours and i have ways to incorporate all those chicken breasts in to various meals/salads etc for the week ahead, without cooking much at all

Big sugar spikes in your bloodstream wreak havoc on your insulin resistance and other hormones. Too much sugar is absolutely detrimental to your health, just as much as smoking or drinking in excess. The effects are just different.

This is a great video! When it comes to fruit, there are fruits that are much higher in sugar with fewer nutrients/fiber and have a higher glycemic index. You can find charts online that will help indicate which ones are healthier and which ones to avoid, at least on a regular basis. My motto is berries are best.

Moderation is better than denying yourself all treats! If you totally deprive yourself, eventually you will feel cheated, and then it tempts you to binge. I used protien supplement bars and drinks to lose 20 pounds last year. They have a little sugar and/or sugar substitute. They satisfy my craving for a LITTLE sugar, and help me maintain my weight at the optimal BMI. I'm 72 yo 5'3" and 120lbs. I avoid fats except olive oil. I eat very little carbs. And, most important, I watch portion size!

Gave up, sugar, alcohol, don’t smoke or do any drugs, gave up dairy, seed oils, grains. But I feel I’m not aging great. I feel it’s because I can’t give up stress. I do take a lot of caffeine every day because I work the graveyard shift. Hard time sleeping during the day. Only 28 and I feel I should look better than I do.

Maybe they just live very carefree lives and don’t stress but for someone who is uptight and is looking for stability and security that stress may age the skin quicker than their lifestyle choices I’m guessing and alcohol can have lots of antioxidants that protect the skin

I bought a sugar alternative today. It's called stevia. It is way sweeter than sugar and you only need it 1 g of it to sweeten a whole drink. Btw it comes from a plant and it's pretty safe for most people. I suggest doing your own research before trying it tho.

@@ButterflySUB none at all. I wore a CGM for a month and it does not spike your glucose. I carry the packets everywhere I go. Europe still has a lot of the unhealthy sweeteners in coffee shops. I think the EU banned stevia at one time so it’s not very common here. My favorite brand is Sweet Leaf.

@@sandrar6670 I live in Germany and there are small pills of stevia available. I bought it from my local dm. And it's very cheap 100 pills were less than 2 euros. And each pill is equal to one table spoon sugar.

I agree, that processed sugar is the enemy. Rebel brand ice cream and Lily's chocolate are sweetened with stevia and erythritol NOT processed sugar.

I wish I liked stevia. Monk fruit sweetener is my go to, but it isn’t used nearly as much as stevia.
