Let's talk about The Golden Rule and what it misses from Never Split the Difference, Chris Voss and FBI hostage negotiation, and Accommodators, Analysts, and Assertives.
Hi, I'm Corey. I am a writer/actor/comedian based in Los Angeles. 🎤
➡️ I have dealt with mental health issues since the fifth grade. Now I want to laugh with them. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, and Depression. I'm not a doctor, but that’s exactly why my brother said I should talk about it.
This is a literal self help channel. For me, and hopefully for you. 🙌

I think this is GREAT for "business" type interactions but not helpful for personal relationships. Personal relationships thrive and form based on values. Being authentic and freely expressing your values is the most efficient way to find true personal relationships and the people that naturally gel with you.

I agree that to find true relationships, authenticity is needed. It sounds like you have already written this idea off for personal interactions? Like you feel as if you wouldn't be behaving authentically?

@@coreybennettboardman I think if it's being used as a tool to form personal relationships and not driven by an authentic intent to serve someone, then yes, I believe your time is better spent elsewhere. Using some of these verbal tricks; sounds like..., so you're saying..., us instead of I, are fine but remember that intention always speaks loader than words.

@@coreybennettboardman My 2 cents anyway.

I always appreciate your 2 cents and support! I'm sorry. You probably think I'm trying to manipulate you here with verbal tricks. 🙃 I suppose I'm not being clear enough. It's hard in Short videos. 😄 I mean to use these techniques TO serve someone else in the pursuit of connection, not manipulation or inauthenticity. I could of course, be wrong. These are all soft science stuff. But I look at this in the same way as being cognizant of someone's Love Languages, however true these are... You are not changing who you are, but you are changing what you present to the other person to better connect with how they interface with the world. And it's BECAUSE you respect them, not to manipulate. I'm also not sure that my intention matters as much as how someone perceives my intention. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to work through this more in my own brain and present a more clear synthesis. 🙌

@@coreybennettboardman Some good points. And no, manipulative is never a word I would use to describe you lol. I will say one thing. People are far more intune with intent then you think. That I do know. Might be something to look into.

What is your group? I think I alternate between group 1 and group 2.

That's great you recognize that. Like any of this softer sort of science, I'm not sure that it's a perfect system where we are only one thing. I feel like I alternate between all 3 depending on the situation. But I usually operate from group 1, Accommodator, most of the time.

Your videos are really awesome and very good quality very nice I really enjoy watching your videos. But there is a little problem with your video, you should do SEO, if you do SEO, your video views and engagement will increase, likes, comments, and subscriptions will increase gradually. If you have less idea about this, you can tell me and I will help you.
