OK, this is interesting. You’re the first person I’ve come across to a) acknowledge that both heat and cold stress are hormetic stresses and follow the ‘upside down U’, but more interesting still, you b) point out that the stress with an ice bath is front-loaded and immediate, yet it’s very much back-loaded in a sauna. You’re the first person I’m aware of to elucidate that distinction 👊🏻

Kitaro, you changend the way I look at this great Method. I'm from Germany, so please don't judge me for my terrible english. I used to start the Method 2 years ago with some interruptions. When I started It increased my energy levels extreme and my emotions where not as overwhelming as before. It also hepled me to get rid of my panic attacks. But as someone who tends to a unhealthy desire for perfection, I started to track my breathholds an was focused on the tingeling an the "high" feeling after the retention time. I started to get really sad and angry because I wasn't able to enjoy the sessions anymore. Thats wy this video defenetly changed the way how I will performe this Method in the future. Thank you Kitaro, your videos changed the way how I see it as a whole. Keep going my friend. I love your videos! Keep breathing and greetings from Germany :)

Thank you. One of the big strength of the WH method is that it’s as SIMPLE as powerful. Even if what you try to give us seems to be very interesting, it’s seems very complicate and confusing for me … I hope that I’ll find the time to watch the video a second time, but at the first listening, I’m lost (unfortunately, I’m French speaker and my English is far from perfect)…

I love what you're sharing here because I've been practicing this for some time ever since I was a little kid. If we choose adversities that are a bit more difficult than what happened to us randomly and spontaneously in life then it is a bit easier to flow and manage stress in how we either react or respond to situations and the people involved in them. 🙏✨️✨️✨️💖

Mix the following ingredients for access to amazing healing and tibetan monk abilities 1. Morning cold water exposure between 3-5am 2. Intermittent fasting 3. Deep mindful meditation 1 hr plus with a focus on heart mind coherence 4. Kundalini Awakening meditation 5. Finding a spiritual practice that involves service to those suffering more than yourself 6.use acceptance to harmonize the chaotic energies released from the previous 5 steps. If you do this you will become something new.

I'm a WHM instructor myself and agree that mindfulness in the official Wim Hof method teaching can seem to come a little short - it's in there though. For me Vipassana meditation practice adds that element wonderfully. But Wim Hof brings that daily power and these incredible health benefits 🙏🏻
@dominiquestulens10 күн бұрын
“The mindset protocol” as Wim always meant it, awareness, will soon be added to the syllabus - it has actually always been there. Wim talks about awareness, intention, trusting the bodies wisdom, life intelligence EVERYWHERE 🤷🏻♂️ - we now structured this in a protocol and is even much simpler than explained here 😉
@bennubreath9 күн бұрын
@ This is amazing news! I'm very glad you'll include mindfulness in a structured way into the method, Wim Hof style. For the purpose- and intellectual-minded the depth will become even clearer that way 🤙🏻
@dominiquestulens9 күн бұрын
@@bennubreath - exaclty - we are in-structors - We put in a structure that intellectual minded people can apply step by step and gives them the experience from this pathway too.

Maybe two years ago, after having practiced the cold exposure for a couple of years, I discovered your videos teaching Wim Hof breathing and with their help added it to my routine. After a period of sticking close to your instructions, I found myself being moved to experiment with the technique such that a remarkable spontaneous sequence of changes in my way of practicing unfolded and produced an ever-expanding experience wherein one new wrinkle after another introduced itself in a continuing flow from one paradigm to the next. It continues to be a fascinating adventure as the body seems to know intuitively how to build on the benefits of each successive change. Thank you, Kitaro Waga, for your help in launching me on this marvelous journey! Your way of teaching inspires calm confidence.

Kitaro, with all do respect - I teach the WHM at the Academy - a lot of things you’re saying here that supposedly are missing, are simply not true; eg about the breathing technique (awareness is key in doing the breathwork begore, while and after; more precisely to reawaken life intelligence and intention) - Interoception was studied in MRI studies of 2024 - The meaning of breathing in WHM has the deeper goal of reawakening gut feeling/heart voice (mindfulness) etc etc etc - WHM breathing phase = hormetic stress - WHM retention phase = becoming aware of “just being” and doing absolutely nothing - Looks like you were not up to date at all. - Awareness before the breathwork, deep intention to reawaken Life Force as Wim says, before the breathing, to do it mindfully with intention, is all part of the WHM breathing. -
@dominiquestulens10 күн бұрын
Kitaro, the Mindset pillar (wim calls it the science of your soul) IS the deep and infinite foundation where the Breathing and the cold exposure are rooted in. It deals with Life intelligence, awareness, recognition of infinite consciousness and unconditional love that is already there and needs to be recognised and dis-covered with the breathing and the cold exposure - Or you never truelly understood the Mindset pillar of the WHM, or you deny that it has always been there. - The WHM is definitely enough if you understand the Mindset pillar … - As well the breathing as the cold exposure are hormetic stressors. - It has been studied and detected in the brain (insula and ACC) in the brain (interoception) en in the executive networks (orbitofrontal cortex) - No problem with you sharing your idea’s with your metaphores and frameworks, but just don’t deny as if the WHM misses these parts (HEIR = hormetic enhanced Interoceptive refocusing was studied because of the WHM) - The insights of the WHM mindset part are life changing already, even without the breathing and the cold. - The breathing and cold are the tools to reawaken and reactivate this body intelligence & Life activation consciously. - Eg the retention phase has the goal (set up front) to experience the deeper being (by doing nothing, not even breathing) and just being with whatever arises (physical symptoms, emotions, etc) - Or you never understood the Mindset Pillar, or you are consciously and supposedly “adding” things that were not there. 🤷🏻♂️ - up to you. - So please, teach your things the way you want after your WHM period. But don’t pretend or act like this is absent within the WHM … - I’ve learned nothing new and can add a lot more stuff to breathing mechanics (eg understanding “surfactant function in the alveoli” with deep breathing and so much more. - WHM = conscious, diafragmatic breathing in one fluid motion. 🤷🏻♂️

Hi 👋 thanks for the video. Quick question: do you do the Tummo breath/Wim Hof breath by breathing in through your nose and out of the mouth, or do you do the inhale and exhale through the mouth as Wim Hof has shown? I've been doing it ~3 hours before bed to help drop my heart rate lower as I sleep. Though I don't necessarily sleep great, my heart rate drops quite low, which is good. Anyway, thanks for any feedback!
@KitaroWagaАй бұрын
I inhale through the nose. There are rare cases where I inhale through the mouth. I wouldn't recommend the WHM in the evening. Try coherence breathing instead. I have a free 15-day breathwork course where I guide you through different breathing techniques.
@benchcrewgamesАй бұрын

The WHM néver went about “tolerating the cold” and “holding the breath” longer … If you were a WHM instructor, you should know this back than too. - So no, you didn’t add “awareness” and “consciousness” to the WHM, the whole mindset pillar of the WHM deals with awareness, recognition of Life intelligence and life power that just need to be reawakened by the breath and the cold (which are both hormetic stressor) … - All these things are integral parts of the WHM 🤷🏻♂️
