omg Dr Cherie, you are amazing! i have watched sooo many videos of yours and loved them all. i have however found it so difficult to identify my type as it seemed contradictory until now. "Geeking out...spending a lot of time researching and learning about human behavior..." Okay but did you have to call me out THAT hard?! 😂 On another note I would really love to see a video talking about the inverse - Fe dominant with a lower Ti (especially in the 3rd position) and how that might present itself. Like, is there a similar potential to cope with things by trying to override the Fe with doubling down on the Ti? I know the social stigmas/pressures aren't really so much of a thing in that case, but I still feel like it would provide a fascinating contrast! Especially for anyone who might be like me - a female likely-INTP (never officially evaluated, but it's always seemed to fit) who also resonates strongly with how you describe Fe-dominant types and is now questioning if I'm actually Ti-dominant, or if I've actually just been coping too hard! 😅

As an ENTP, the raw truth ressembles strongly at me. The criticism can be hard if I sense it don't comes from a place of debate, yet it comes from a judging perspective. If it's open and fair, I can receive, so long we can linger and review the opinion

Actually, Te doms are ENTJ and ESTJs. INTJs are Ni dominant and Te Auxiliary, you aren't a Te Dom.
@dxfifa7 ай бұрын
INTJs have Fe blindspot so along with ISTJs are the most clueless to social norms and how to create harmony and good emotions. To an IxTJ feelings and norms are so personal they often assume everybody wants to be treated completely individually and therefore project their own personal norms by default (assuming everybody shares their norms until proven otherwise). Thus they do what would make them feel happy and included completely ignoring that Fe users have rules they believe are polite for anyone to follow and high Fi users are also obsessed with their own personal values of politeness that are usually less naive and more thought out comparing values of their own to other Fe and Fi users to get the system better equipped. The only people who really don't care about the IxTJs strange behaviour are the Fe demon types, or people of any type who have all the same ideas of politeness and social skills by coincidence. You'll find the types with low Fe are the worst, but low Se is also huge, and low Fi of the types with no Fe are the "weird and rude types" ISTJ are completely clueless outside of their narrow comfort zone. They're almost always incredibly rude, rigid, impolite and selfish when in a group of people who aren't like them. ESTJ are just as bad. INTJ can be charismatic and clever about seeming interesting, but seeming interested and socially skilled is beyond them. Their Se is a little bit rudimentary but they can sometimes pull off giving others entertainment and engagement, they are socially oblivious though. INFP are completely oblivious to how to play a crowd and entertain and come across as very self centered and unaware of how anyone but themselves feels. Reading the room is almost impossible for them. INTP are also oblivious to their surroundings and how to make others have a good time, but they don't struggle to understand how everyone is feeling, they do struggle a bit to affect it how they would like to though. These are probably those with the worst social skills. ENTJ, ISTP, ENTP, ISFP are better but all struggle a lot in certain situations

INTP here and I am at a point where i'm mentally and and emotionally exhausted because of trying to navigate between Ti and Fe and i just can't figure it out. I want to have deep relationships but I feel like I'm doing it wrong. I mostly feel like an alien, observing instead of being in the moment, when i try to develop my Fe, it feels so mechanical so i end up isolating myself, then i regret that. I've been called blunt, cold and aloof but i know that's not me i just don't know how to navigate it. As you said, I have a huge interest in human psychology, personality types, even astrology in a bid to understand people better but it's still a struggle. I'm at a point of just wanting to shut down my Ti and not bother with Fe. This video made me feel less crazy😅, thank you.

My x-gf was an ISTP and her "optimization" simplified me as an ENFP, she couldn't handle any of my individual thoughts that didn't fit her template. That makes sense of adopting the values of external resources for a high Ti, with her it was being a radical lefty in politics, whereas my values on politics are flexible and I pick and choose within the left to-right spectrum. I also see that people's personal choices come from systemic issues and she couldn't handle that to the point it seemed she would ignore reality to make sure nothing questioned her way of thinking.
@DrCherieTypes Жыл бұрын
It seems like several things are happening with your ex. 1) Fe Inferior has a binary understanding of values, vs your F dominant capable of understanding nuances. 2) Ne Blindspot struggles to hold paradoxical ideas simultaneously, whilst you can slide comfortably left and right within the political spectrum depending on situation and it still make sense to you. Of course, it doesn’t mean all ISTPs will share your ex’s thinking. But it’ll require the ISTP to broaden their sources of info (Ti), have experiences with a variety of people and situations (Se), in order to open their mind up (improved Ni and Fe). Thanks for sharing

I'm an INTP. You're right about the unappreciated bluntness. I work in marketing and I'm really good at it because I research SEO and know what motivates people. Sometimes when I tell others what type of marketing messages and campaigns work, they get so insulted. I find it kind of funny but it holds me back so much in my career because I just can't seem to sugar coat things, especially when I get excited about an idea

TE women are more protected by their FI, they don't need group harmony. As an ESTP, I relate to this on a deep level. @heidimdewan70462 ай бұрын
Are you sure you are an ENFP? I ask because the assessment says I’m ENFP, but deep down I’m an ENTP. The two types are close cousins and due to societal expectations women are expected to be F’s. Plus, I’ve heard that we experiment more with our tertiary when we reach maturity and that is often when we discover MBTI, which can lead to incorrect typing.
@sofiarosario23834 ай бұрын
I'm ENTP and I grew up with my mom saying I was not feminine, and even as a child I always felt that my mom was overly emotional oriented and used to confuse me... also, can you suggest what are the most compatible functions for ENTP/Ti dominant?
@DrCherieTypes4 ай бұрын
Theoretically, the most compatible functions for ENTP (Ne, Ti, Fe, Si) would be your Shadow functions: Ni/Se, Te/Fi. However, working with clients and my own research and observations has taught me that each individual has their own function preferences depending on our own unique upbringing, surrounding culture and life experiences. For example, one ENTP may value F a lot, vs another was brought up to value T - they will therefore feel different chemistry and compatibility with different types. So in reality, we must explore what our own unique preferences are.

I think you may have incorrectly defined Ti and how it works. Sounds like you described Te instead. Ti isn't looking for practicality. It's a reductive thinking process that takes objects, extract for the essential properties and concludes for itself whether that essential property is true or not. It does this by comparing objects against its own method of coherency. Ti doesn't do this for logistical purposes like Te.
@annepaulinetiu40362 жыл бұрын
Yes, this is true. She got Te and Ti confused.
@DrJamesT2 жыл бұрын
She differentiated Ti from Te by saying Ti is subjective thinking, implying Te is externally derived. Both Te and Ti, meaning thinking in general, can lead to practical results. I agree with your definition of Ti. The outcome of "comparing objects against its own method of coherency" could result in something practical or logistical. The team that invented Amazon Prime, a practical and logistical example, can't be exclusively Te able. Te seeks truth too, but differently. Once truth is found it will be utilised in the world - the definition of practicality.
