I have watched so many of your videos, i found myself humming the the intro tune from your videos while making coffee this morning in the outer banks. In two months i have progresssed from never touching a foil to being on foil 95 percent of the time and getting close to making my jibes. No lessons, i rented a ride for the first session then bought some beginner gear on Craigslist while in hood river for 3 weeks. 6 days on the water in hood river now 3 days on the water in outer banks. Your videos are the reason i was able to get up and ride, buy the right beginner equipment, and progress as fast as I have. I am 59 years old and have a disease similar to MS, and a bad shoulder, but I haven’t let that stop me from learning an awesome new sport. If it wasn’t for your videos, i would probably be using the wrong equipment, struggling to stay on foil and swallowing a lot of water. Thank you guys for making these videos. I have an RV youtube channel with 50k subs so i know what it takes to put these videos together. we live in an RV full time and love staying at Jonathan Dickinson state park and ride in Jupiter. Hopefully i will meet you there someday. I am working on a video about my wing foil learning journey from hood river to OBX, watching your videos, buying gear, and how i use the knowledge from your videos to go from zero to staying upwind on foil on the first day. I recorded the whole thing with multiple GoPros attached to the board and wing. TBs of video. Thank you again for your videos and your inspiring message to get on the water and try a new experience. Larry

Such a great narrative of it David. Magical place. Mate, that’s some solid name dropping, even for you 🤣. Take care to share your patronage with the all the local hospitality, or calma may bite on final days 🙂

Thx Tucker. I have non-narrated videos on my channel Foil Journey… but I have to give credit to Damien and Gwen for structuring the questions and editing.

Hi Damien. That was fully inspiring. Now I have to go there! Question please: I sup foil so could I paddle onto the waves or is it strictly tow in? I glimpsed some long boarding so assuming I could paddle onto the wave?

Sup surfing there is amazing Paddle in Easy entry Use the boat to get back to the break you are riding because the paddle back will take too long….😊

This man is a legend. Need more of this: everyday people going out there and doing it. And being able to speak to the process.

Hi Damien, what is the best season of the year to go to Chicama and have good conditions for winging and supfoiling ? Thanks for this amazing video

Hey Damien, love your stoke. I am a passionate waterman. Fully under the stoke of riding such wave but I couldn’t get over the tons of kerosene to burn to flight with my toys there. We are not doing a favour to the same nature we love by promoting excessive travel. And compromising the future of our kids. What responsible message should our generation of watersport enthusiasts convey to the next one? My ego trip first, your future play ground second? Keep the good work and spreading the stoke!

Great point friend and very well received. There is no question you can enjoy the little things in your local area first and always be grateful for that. That itself can be as rewarding as the greatest wave in the world. Its's all how you look at it. Well said. Thank you!

Great video. Which board is this? Obviously a Lift, but is it 4'0, 4'6, 4'10?

David had a 60L 4'11 Armstrong for winging and a 38L Amundson for towing.

Wow, Chicama is truly a foilsurfing paradise. There is a sense of: if this bloke made it I, along with less-blessed mortals , maybe we could do it too, we could rip and fly and carve endless waves. Fantastic drone piloting too.
