You should check out the type 8 different HEALTH LEVELS (9 levels) and GROWTH RECOMMENDATIONS. Both of you might have different wings too (8w7 and 8w9), so are slightly different 8s.

I would say Enneagram is super useful , Cos there are more comprehensive test of this to allow you to improve daily. And also, the wings and the lines of progression of 8 to 2 . like type 8 Perhaps this ennegram test is quite brief. For example 8w9, 8w7 is different too. mini steps to improve daily of enneagram , in the physical quotient like breathing, emotional side, intellectual and value system too.

Enneagram is a self-help tool to understand yourself and others, how to improve yourself and communicate better with others, it's not to label people. In general there are 9 personalities but if you go in-depth, there is more to that.

As someone who researched a lot about the enneagram. It's better to study the enneagram yourself if you're interested in it. Enneagram has helped me analyze my core motivations and understand myself better, which is probably what every personality test does. Enneagram is about your core motivations, which translate into 9 core types. Your core fear, your core beliefs. This does not mean that your core type's fear is your only fear, it's just your whole core. There are also more than 9 types. Wings, instinctual variants, tritype and stances are part of the enneagram too. Wings are the numbers beside your core type that you share traits with. The one with the higher traits is your wing. 1 has wings of 2 and 9. Written as 1w2 and 1w9. 2 has wings of 1 and 3. Written as 2w1 and 2w3. 3 has wings of 2 and 4. Written as 3w2 and 3w4. 4 has wings of 3 and 4. Written as 4w3 and 4w5. 5 has wings of 4 and 6. Written as 5w4 and 5w6. 6 has wings of 5 and 7. Written as 6w5 and 6w7. 7 has wings of 6 and 8. Written as 7w6 and 8w7. 8 has wings of 7 and 9. Written as 8w7 and 8w9. 9 has wings of 1 and 8. Written as 9w1 and 9w8. Tritypes are your top three head, body, and heart together, ranked by which is strongest. An example of this is the tritype 478. This means 4 is the strongest out of the heart triad, 7 is the strongest out of your head triad, and 8 is the strongest in your body triad. 4 is stronger than 7 and 8, 7 is weaker than 4, but stronger than 8. 8 is the weakest. The enneagram has arrows, meaning that will have some behaviors of where their arrows point. This can happen when unhealthy or growth. 1 points to 4 and 7. 2 points to 4 and 8. 3 points to 9 and 6. 4 points to 2 and 1. 5 points to 7 and 8. 6 points to 3 and 9. 7 points to 1 and 5. 8 points to 5 and 2. 9 points to 6 and 3. Stances are what you do to get what you want. There are 3 stances, aggressive, withdrawing, and dependent. Your core number will be in one of these stances. 9, 4, and 5 are withdrawing, they move away from others to get what they need or want and are doing repressed. 3, 7, and 8 are aggressive, they move against people focusing on what they themselves need or want and are feeling repressed. 2, 6, and 7 are dependent, they move towards people with compliant solutions to get what they need or want and are thinking repressed. There are 3 instinctual variants, self-preservation (sp), sexual/one-on-one (sx), and social (so). There are also 27 subtypes, which match your core type (eg 1 sx). You have the main variant, the second variant, and your blind spot, which is your last variant. (eg sx/sp/so) Your main variant is what you focus your attention too, your second variant helps supports your main and your third variant is one you're not good at. Self-preservation (sp) is about taking care of yourself. They want to be independent and be comfortable. Their well-being is most important, and their attention is on their health and financial position. Sp blind - they have a disconnect with the notion that their body is absolutely fundamental for their survival. They often have a childlike belief that "everything will be ok" and that they don't have to worry about preserving their health, finances, etc. They will also consider building foundations and skills as boring or unimportant. Sexual (sx) are more into one on one contacts. They are looking for intimacy and having a relationship is important to them. They are looking to merge with one another. Sx blind - They are less in tune with what attracts them and while they may be passionate people they won't immerse themselves completely with another person. They tend to have stronger boundaries than sx doms and are averse to completely open themselves up to other people. They also tend to believe that they have cognitive power over their attracted rather than becoming a slave to their attractions, like sx types. Social (so) prefers to be in groups and teams. They are more interested in the position in their group and want to fit in and be accepted. So blind - They are unaware when breaking certain social cues and often don't care about the consequences of committing a social faux pas. Their relationships with others can also seem less close because they are more about chemistry than connecting through shared interests. They also won't present their identity to the world and it can seem like they lack a "genre." Also, people will try to use their blindspot by using their first and second instinct. For example, sp blinds will outsource their sp needs to other people and will attract people who can take care of them, so blinds will rely on their family and friends to keep them in the loop, and sx blinds will attempt to merge with people in an sx way by using social strategies, such as by finding common interests. Here is a very simplified description of all 27 subtypes: Type 1s desire integrity which manifests in a need to be good and right. SP 1s direct their anger to the SP realm. They can be extremely fussed about diet, finances, and cleanliness, sometimes the 1s influence will counter the SP drives to gratify oneself. SO 1s direct their anger to the SO realm. They are extremely focused on morals and the right way to live in society, enforcing rules and procedures will also play a big part. SX 1s direct their anger to the SX realm. They search for the perfect, idealised partner, but often partners won't live up to their extraordinary high standards, moral purity will also play a part in their attraction strategy. Type 2s desire to be loved which manifests in a strong need to be needed by others. SP 2s direct their pride to the SP realm. They take care of others in an SP way, can be motherly and self-sacrificing in the hope that others will reciprocate. SO 2s direct their pride to the SO realm. They have a powerful desire to be liked and accepted by everyone in their social sphere. Will make themselves needed by becoming the supporting person of those they see as successful. SX 2s direct their pride to the SX realm. Want to be desired and needed by one special person so they will seduce by giving attention to that one special person Type 3s desire to be valued which manifests in a need to be successful. SP 3s direct their deceit to the SP realm. They are the workaholics of the enneagram and work hard in order to acquire the resources that will get their SP needs met. SO 3s direct their deceit to the SO realm. They want to be the image of success and seek status and recognition that they are moving up in the world. SX 3s direct their deceit to the SX realm. They have a powerful need to be desired and will strive to become the ideal of their gender. Type 4s desire to be themselves which manifests in a need to individuate from others. SP 4s direct their envy to the SP realm. They have specific aesthetic tastes and accumulate beautiful objects. There is also a hopelessness attached to SP and are attracted to situations that could jeapordise SP. SO 4s direct their envy to the SO realm. Present themselves as an outsider and have the desire to interact socially but the belief that they can't. SX 4s direct their envy to the SX realm. They will individuate themselves in order to attract the person they desire, with the belief that this person will rescue them from mundane reality. May be attracted to unavailable partners. SX 5s direct their avarice to the SX realm. Will desire to share their inner world with one special person and hook that person in with their strange ideas and imagination. Type 6s desire to be secure which manifests in a need to find support. SP 6s direct their fear to the SP realm. Will alleviate their anxieties about survival by maintaining the stability of their home life and ensuring that they always have resources. SO 6s direct their fear to the SO realm. Look to friends and allies for support, feel secure when they are members of a group of likeminded people. SX 6s direct their fear to the SX realm. Want to attract a powerful mate that will bring them support so they focus on their physical attractiveness and will over do either strength and toughness, or beauty and vulnerability. Type 7s desire to be satisfied which manifests in a need for freedom. SP 7s direct their gluttony to the SP realm. Want to ensure that their basic needs will always be met. Desire comfort and search for material things that give them pleasure. SO 7s direct their gluttony to the SO realm. Like getting involved in social groups and want to have a large variety of friends who can keep them involved in exciting possibilities. SX 7s direct their gluttony to the SX realm. Fantasists who imagine all the exciting things they can get up to with a partner. Can fall in and out of love easily. Type 8s desire to protect themselves which manifests in a need to be powerful. SP 8s direct their lust to the SP realm. No nonsense people who ensure that they always have enough resources to maintain their power and well-being. SO 8s direct their lust to the SO realm. Create powerful bonds with others and desire to be the most powerful in their social sphere. Can be charming and expect loyalty. SX 8s direct their lust to the SX realm. Want to feel as if they have great influence over their significant other and can be controlling partners. Attract by showing their influence and power. Type 9s desire to be at peace which manifests in a need to over adjust. SP 9s direct their sloth to the SP realm. Will merge with self-preservation and seek comfort with simple pleasures. Difficulty mobilising themselves to get their sp needs. SO 9s direct their sloth to the SO realm. Easily merge with people and want to please those in their circle. However, they avoid having too many expectations placed on them. SX 9s direct their sloth to the SP realm. Want to take on the qualities of their chosen person and completely fuse with their partner. I am Type 5, which i expected, but the test i took only tells me that info. Think there were like 30 questions that ask me to rate how much i agree or disagree. .It doesnt tell me which wing i am and tritype, subtype. So are there any free online sources that an give u a detailed test result?

The enneagram test is not a box to put people in. It just shows you when you are at your worst and best, what u shld be more AWARE off. Any profiling tool when used right, can be powerful.

@@TheThirstySisters Yes, if you can get an Enneagram professional in to go through this with you, you will better understand why this model is actually vastly more insightful than the MBTI and also understand why people act so differently when they are relaxed or stressed. It is almost like as though they become different people, although they are the same. It is a great tool for you to use for business also, so that you can help the person you hired/are going to hire to bask in their true potentials.

The test you ladies took was free and thus "simple test". Real test was not simple, needed an amount of money, and involved answering 180-200 questions (depending on different test providers). I love TTS but I must say that this is a truly lousy review.

I agree that the results given by the Enneagram test is quite generic and lack insights. But there is some studies into the enneagram personality type and these come with great insights.
