Day 4 Anniversary Challenge | Walking Workout

This 20 minute walking workout will strengthen your cardiovascular system and work your upper and lower body and core, including your arms, shoulders, back, glutes, hips, and legs. It is about 2500 steps and includes a warm up and cooldown. These exercises for perfect for seniors and beginners.
The workout is in three rounds of four exercises -- 30 seconds each exercise with 20 seconds of rest. Each round is done twice.
Round 1
Side step and pullback
Knee up
Front punches
Step back and arm up (right and left)
Round 2
Grapevine or 2 sides steps
Press down and toe touch
Hamstring curls with tricep extension
Heel touches
Round 3
Side step with bicep curl
Side step and one push out to the side (right and left)
Side step with arms forward
Side step with arm up (right and left)
After the workout, do our additional cooldown session to get your heart rate back to normal and stretch out your muscles: • Exercise Cooldown for ...
This workout is Day 4 of our Anniversary Workout Challenge, which includes a special sweepstakes to win a yes2next t-shirt. Here’s how it works:

It's really nice when you have the count down clock on the screen for exercise time and rest time. I find it very helpful.

Yes, Chicago hotdogs with all the fixin's are wonderful, and if you take a slow leisurely walk in the park after you have eaten, you see nature's beauty and hear the singing birds. These two combinations of eatin' good and relaxing are best to calm your soul. ;-)

My favorite video so far! I just love y’all. Makes me miss my sweet mama who passed in Sept. last year at 91. She lived me after my Daddy passed away in 2020. I miss him too. He was a hard working farmer right up to the end. He had a bad back and knees and it was a struggle for him to get around. I want to strengthen my joints. I have a bad knee but I think it is better since I have started your workouts. Thanks so much.💕

I may have missed the Anniversary, but it's never too late to exercise!!! An easy routine to follow, but excellent achieving its desired affect. My favorite routines are those with easy moves rife with variations. Truly enjoyed this one as well as the banter between you and Mom! It made me forget I was working hard. Thanks loads...Anastasia

love your workouts, i am a 61 yr old woman with a bad knee and cerebral palsy and the workouts really help not only with my knee but my balance and my core which helps with my scoliosis. By the was Your mother is a hoot or hot tomalli as my mother would say

Another great workout! You give good instructions and I do not feel rushed. I just started last week and I do 1/2 videos a day. I can feel the difference as I am trying to loose belly fat. I walk 5,000 steps a day weather permitting in Boston, Ma. I am not ready to join a gym again until I know it is absolutely safe. Thank you! So blessed with your videos!

Thank you April for leaving your weights out. You reminded me that I am stronger now and I can begin to challenge myself without hurting my body. Therefore, I did the entire routine with my itty-bitty one pound weights. I am feeling pretty proud. Darling Mom: What fool made you think that you are anything but a beautiful Goddess? You need never worry about your lovely arms! I am the size 18 (and loosing a tiny bit more easch day) and I would kill for your arms! You should wear any color and andy sleeve length you want to. If other folks don't like they can just go look at someone else1 YOU ARE GORGEOUS! Thank you for showing up and shouting out Mocchi. You are one silly kitty and I adore the smiles you bring me. Live in the northwestern burbs of Chicago. The hot dogs and pizza are not as good as you remember. The tamales you remember are made with cornmeal and there is not one bit of meat. Actually the food In Henderson Nv. Is tastier. Remember the hot dog relish that was Neon green. That hasn’t changed. What I miss is El Pollo Loco. Nothing like it here. Oscar Meyer up until just recently had a 60 calorie beef hot dog, but they discontinued it. I'm not sure how healthy it was, but it had a really good taste and texture, and I didn't feel guilty eating it!! Enjoyed the workout today. 😊 Getting stronger!!

Enjoyed this 4th anniv. workout, and all your good humour that came with it. It's good to laugh as well as exercise! They sure don't make hotdogs today like the ones you and "Mom" mentioned! Congratulations on your first year doing Yes2Next! I really enjoy your videos. They are helpful and encouraging, and again, I like the calmer atmosphere, too, unlike the other "go get'em" type workouts! All the best! PS: Let me know if these are available on DVD or memory sticks--could I download them? I know my friend would really like to use your workouts.

I realize this is over a year old, but I injured my shoulder to the point I can't lift it without assistance. I wanted to do some form of movement and decided on this one. It allowed my to do soft gentle stretches for the shoulder (I modified some of the moves) so I didn't feel pain. Thank you, as always, for the video. You both are a tremendous inspiration to so many. @@yes2next Thank you. I did see the doctor yesterday and it turns out it is rotator cuff tendonitis. I had been doing the RICE practice, turns out it was the right thing to do and to continue. I've started an at home PT and feel so much better but still taking it easy so not to make it worse. Doing the walking routines with you so I can still have movement in my life. Have a blessed day.

Great all over workout. Took it kinda easy today as I got really dizzy when I bent over to pickup a package and hit my head on the corner of the wall. I would have fallen had the wall not been there. Have to be so careful as we get older. But I have to exercise everyday otherwise I feel like I’m missing something so important! See you both tomorrow.

This is the first full standing/walking workout I have attempted since I broke a toe 5 months ago. It has been taking much longer than expected to heal, but it's finally starting to feel more normal, and since I have already been able to do much more walking lately, I decided to try the additional moves in this walking workout challenge a few days ago. So far, so good! :) After months of sticking to seated workouts, I was excited to be able to do this workout without pain or fear of further injury, and I hope to gradually include more such workouts in the coming days and weeks. Your gentle, low-impact moves are a perfect way for me to begin!

Greetings Aiko from another Chicagoan! My favorite ingredient list for Chicago dogs include Vienna or David Berg all beef dog, sliced tomatoes (NEVER ketchup), celery salt, banana peppers, alfalfa sprouts, iceberg lettuce, red onions, and mustard. I prefer spicy brown mustard but others say yellow mustard is the only way to make a true Chicago dog. All of this is nestled inside a sesame seed hoagie roll. Do you have a favorite deep dish pizza?

Hey, can I ask you a question? Will it be enough if I do workouts two times per day and stop eating sweets to lose weight? I don't want to start another diet because I get fatter with each jo-jo period. And I can't stick to a diet for more than 3 months anyway. The longer I diet, the more obsessed I am with food. And during a diet, I am constantly hungry. So, what do you think? No sweets, and two sessions per day? Will it be enough?

I applaud you for you for making a commitment to get healthier. 👏 Before starting a new diet or exercise program, consult with your doctor about what is best for you. I invite you to check out our interview with the author of The Whole Body Reset, a plan to lose weight that includes a a combination of healthy eating and exercise: bit.ly/3JTdlVM I'm not a fan of fad diets -- the best results come from incorporating healthy habits into your life -- both eating and movement. Decreasing sweets along with eating a balanced diet of healthy food and exercise can help you feel better, get stronger, and lose weight. Regarding exercise, listen to your body and do what feels good. If you're just starting out with exercise, do as much as you can one day and build up from there. Federal guidelines recommend 150 minutes per week of moderate intensity cardio work (like brisk walking) and 2 full body strength training sessions a week. When starting out, I recommend not focusing on the scale -- your body needs time to adjust to new habits. But with consistency, I believe you will feel better and stronger -- losing weight will go along with that. Increasing muscle mass has many benefits -- including that it burns more calories than fat at rest. Muscle also weighs more than fat so initially you may even gain weight because you're gaining muscle. A better gauge is to notice differences in how your clothes fit and how you feel. So start out by moving at your level.
