“You’re NOT A WOMAN Just Because You Got Surgery!” Macy Gray on Transgender Identity

American R&B and soul singer Macy Gray joins Piers Morgan Uncensored to discuss issues on racial inequality, transgender identity and even the advice successful artist and singer Prince gave her.
Piers asks the 'I Try' singer what her definition of a woman is and Macy gives her response before telling us the methods of identity have become very confusing. She also believes that getting gender reassignment surgey "doesn't make you a woman". Although she is happy to use whichever pronouns someone identifies with, she explains that she feels women go through such a unique experience growing up that trans women cannot truly be called women.

What's hilarious is that the woke Left's definition of a woman changes depending on the topic. If the topic is athletics, a trans woman is 100% a woman. If the topic is abortion then a woman goes back to being defined by their vagina and reproductive organs. According to the woke Left's definition of a woman, don't men also have a say in abortion since men can get pregnant too?

Agreed. Being born female, being a baby girl, becoming a little girl, a teenage girl, a young woman etc… that is something no one can take away from us, nor mimic it into existence, no matter how much they try. It is an experience that cannot be bought, or operated by a doctor into fruition. Being a woman, having a monthly menstrual cycle, becoming pregnant, giving birth to a new life, breastfeeding a baby; no doctor, hormone therapy or medication can or ever will morph your way into or out of this reality. Have all the surgeries you want. Do with your body as you please. Transition if you feel comfortable doing so. Do whatever makes you feel better about yourself. Be happy and content with what makes you comfortable. More power to ya! However, please, be fully aware that no amount of aesthetics will ever make you or turn you into something you’re not nor will ever be. It is what it is and it’s not what it’s not.

What sucks is that she's actually right about everything, and you can tell that she's approaching all of these issues as an artist/thinker, instead of a politician. That doesn't matter to people that only see politics in everything. Even her more "liberal" points like the flag stuff I agree with her on and I'm glad Piers showed the early American flag so that she had an opportunity to point out how ridiculous it is that people are so precious about our current flag that's only been around for a short time. I don't personally aesthetically like her new flag concept, but that isn't the point.

As I just said to another privileged woman. All trans women want is a better life and TO NOT GET MURDERED (which is happening at an alarming rate). Nothing is being taken from you. Classifying trans women as "women" or "real women" will not harm you at all, but it has the capacity to help them from being murdered. So, it is your choice . . . murder or let them live? I say that if allowing trans women to be classified as women helps save one life, then let it be. Why are you seeing this as such a threat to your life? You are not in danger like trans women are. You clearly are looking at this from some bias, and that is what is most alarming. If I were the parent of a trans child, I would not allow you to babysit my child.

In fact, I work in a field dominated by women, so I can't even remember ever being discriminated against for gender. I'm not saying it's all about clothing or makeup because I've never had to worry about being confused for male no matter how plainly dressed I was. There was disrespect for other reasons sometimes. The transexuals people's problems you mentioned come when they decide to become trans. Our problems/experiences are different and start at birth. That's why they will NEVER know what it really is to be female. Anyway, that's my opinion. Everyone is entitled to their own. @Princess The original poster said that transgender women cannot identify with the “experience” of women. I was making the point that fully transitioned trans women have much of the same experience as cisgender women as they are treated very similarly by society. This means I disagree with the idea that trans women don’t live as women or have a similar experience.
@harigoodman7718
@harigoodman7718 2 жыл бұрын
@Princess I’m not talking about transition either. I’m saying how transgender women present after transition is very similar to cisgender women. This results in them having similar and therefore shared experiences which many would consider a part of womanhood. I understand that the experiences of menstruation especially are quite large parts of being women. However, many women do not get periods (some never start a period). But, they are still women aren’t they? So surely living as a woman in society (dealing with how others treat you, gender roles and stereotypes) is a more significant part of being a woman as it is something that all women experience and throughout all stages of their life? The fact that they can’t have kids doesn’t mean anything. Quite a lot of women are infertile due to conditions such as PCOS. They’re still women. Even women who can conceive, they may have different goals and objectives in life and may not want to have kids. A trans woman can still adopt, have a surrogate, have a child biologically if they are a gay couple (using sperm banks before transitioning). There are plenty of ways a trans women can still be a mother.

No one is "pushing" children to transition. Parents don't want their child to transition, but they don't want them to be suicidal or alcoholic either. We can guide and influence a person. Doctors trained in gender dysphoria are qualified to decide when transitioning will help a child. The parents must also give consent. If a misdiagnosed child starts to transition then stops, they generally have very little change to overcome. If a child cannot transition until adulthood they are forced to endure the wrong hormones for years. It's the same as telling a misdiagnosed child then can't stop taking the wrong hormones until they're adults. It's torture beyond imagining. Let's not forget many children are GREATFUL for their time as the opposite sex. THERE IS NO PERFECT SOLUTION. Yes! Exactly true! So choose the path with the most success. That's what doctors continue to do. The regret rate for children transitioning on hormones (age 16+) is around 2%. For some 2% is too much; yet they don't seem to realize that the reverse means 98% have regret to save the 2%.

Transgender women tend to have brain structures that resemble cisgender women, rather than cisgender men. Two sexually dimorphic (differing between men and women) areas of the brain are often compared between men and women. The bed nucleus of the stria terminalus (BSTc) and sexually dimorphic nucleus of transgender women are more similar to those of cisgender woman than to those of cisgender men, suggesting that the general brain structure of these women is in keeping with their gender identity. Several studies have shown that identical twins are more often both transgender than fraternal twins, indicating that there is indeed a genetic influence for this identity. So, what genes might be responsible?

I'm kind of split down the middle when it comes to transgenderism. On one hand, I agree with Macy Gray when she says trans women and female women are not the same thing. That's a fact, one is male the other is female. However, I also can understand people who state that gender and sex are not the same thing. If you actually research, their argument makes sense. Gender IS a socially constructed thing. For example, females are "supposed" to be Women, who wear pink and womanly things, display softer, "feminine" traits, while males are "supposed" to be men, who wear blue and manly things, display harder, "masculine" traits. These things aren't how some biological males and females are, so it's not fair to force males to be "men" and females to be "women". What if there's a natural born male who caters to being what society considers "womanhood" rather than "manhood", and therefore identifies as a woman? Not as a FEMALE, but as a WOMAN.

Then why does our DNA allow us to transform into the opposite gender, with the right hormones? You are also missing the two points of reincarnation, and auto-philias. 1) We incarnated too many times as one gender. 2) We want more joy of what the other has, but couldn't experience in our earlier life, and %99 found we were correct, and are much happier for it. Why should this even matter anyway? We have nothing to do with anyone's life anyway. Nobody own anyone else, but the right thinks they do, and that's wrong.

And while I disagree with her about the flag I can see where she is coming from and I don't think she comes at it with malice or hate.

What is ironic is that the political party that supports this madness is the same political party that most women support!! This is as ironic as blacks supporting the same political party that used to defend slavery, segregation and then created planned parenthood--which targets black kids in the womb. If nothing changes, the democratic party will succeed at destroying women's sports and many other things that used to belong to women.

This is something I always wonder. How does someone "Know" what being the opposite gender is like when you've never experienced it? How can you feel like something you've never been. I think SOME non binary and trans people have a fantasy of what being the opposite gender is like based on stereotypes. I'm not saying there are no legit cases.

its so so SO true. If you remove biology from the equation then what does being a woman even mean? The trans notion of gender is so sexist. its about clothes. Its also very conservative. Girls like pink and wear dresses and if you like pink and wear dresses then you must be a girl. That's absurd.
@alexojideagu

@@ktwashere5637 Exactly. I saw a fully trans "Man" on youtube complaining he doesn't understand other men or how men think and behave, and wishes he could still play on women's sports teams, and relates to women socially and emotionally. This person clearly doesn't understand men because they're not a man! I don't know how they think they're male.

I agree with this. The stars of the flag represent states, not the color of the people living there. Using her logic, since women are the majority of the country and did not have rights back when the flag was created, should we put a Venus symbol on the flag? No, because it was understood that the flag did not mean power or control over women, it represented all who lived under it, including women of the time.

@@MissJade805 By defining us correctly and not going along with this push for MEN to co-opt our identities, spaces in the world, career opportunities (especially in sports), and essentially set any progress we've made back 100 years or more because MEN think that being a woman now only consists of their saying so--no parts even need to change! I actually received college credit in the '80s to learn all about "transexuals" at SF State, used to think I was so ahead of the curve in terms of what I knew about them, was in a punk band with a transwoman (no bottom surgery but at least hormones) and would always address her to reflect how she presented herself. Just like the abortion issue, this shit has gone too far (like abortion AFTER birth) and classical liberal values have been completely exploited for other agendas, like trafficking body parts and pushing for TRANSHUMANISM. F MEN in women's prisons, shelters, lockerrooms, bathrooms, bookclubs, sports or anywhere else that means WOMEN can't be safe, successful or just be themselves. I am still waiting to read about transmen breaking down the doors to compete against real men. Why is that? Because we have systematically lowered the expectations of what it means to be a man and because it is OBVIOUS that it would not be a fair competition and they would be creamed. Maybe for every transwoman who wants to compete, "she" needs to secure a transman to do the same. Or better yet, create trans competitions. That would be entertaining to watch that group decide on the rules!
