Bluetti has full-house options, and of course, base camp options. What I could really use is somewhere in-between. We lose power frequently enough where I am that having one fully-weatherproof panel outside, and a large-ish base camp solar generator inside, so that the battery won't freeze in the winter or get rained on in the summer, would be really helpful. I priced out the fully solar options, and looked at all the pros and cons, and didn't think it made sense for our location. But woodstove plus a basecamp-style solar generator would be a good combination, so long as the solar panel was fully weatherproof.

Wow. Great setup for base camp/getting there. You are In The Zone, my friend. Very solid work.

Great video; nice to see this battery put to work in a realistic situation. The upside to this battery seems significant. Do you have any concerns about charging this sort of battery versus the lead acid battery? Is there a higher risk of fire?

Thanks for watching my friend! Actually as far as I know LiFePO4 batteries are the safest to deal with. Straight lithium battteries can be a severe fire hazard though. Take care👍

@@Woodswalker1965 That is good info to know - I wasn't aware of the distinction. I would be interested in a long term review of this, and of the solar battery systems, to see how they perform after extended use. Thank you for the videos. Be well.🌲🌳🌄

Thanks for the review. We just bought th pt55 and it failed to get down to temperature set first time we plugged it in and every time thereafter . Now trying to get some traction with Setpower.

I’m sorry to hear that my friend, I hope you are able to get a resolution. Sometimes there can be a bit of difference between the posted temperature and actual temperature I have found on some models.(not my SetPower btw) Sometimes they run a bit warm or cold. If you consistently find this you can adjust your temps accordingly. Hope that helps.

Good video. I have the OK1 because it has a longer handle. My JP Peltonen Ranger knife was lost, so I had to get a new knife to replace it. I didn't want to buy an expensive knife, but I still wanted a reliable knife. OK1 seems fine. Maybe the blade could be longer. On the other hand, a knife will never replace an ax no matter how long the blade is. Maybe I'll buy a Hultafors ax too.

Having the right axe for the job = a life well lived. By the way, the Swedish ä is more or less a Canadian e, as in ”eh”. Gräns = Grens, and Fält = Felt. If you want to go for extra points, the Swedish ”rs” consonant blend sounds like ”rsh”. Grens forsh. Once you get the hang of it, Swedish isn’t that different from English, really. I mention all this because these particular words are good bushcraft words to know, if you ever visit Sweden or Norway. Gränsfors (Grens forsh) means something like ” boundary waterfall”. Fält (Felt) means ”field”. The operations where Helle, Gränsfors Bruk, and Casström are made can all be visited, and are not all that far apart in terms of driving time, unless the snow is deep. And there is one more good bushcraft word; ström (strem) means ”stream”. So if you look on the map and it says forsström, expect some whitewater. 🇸🇪

I really enjoy your channel ! N.W. Ohio 43502. Being from Ohio, I really appreciate LT. Wright knives ! You may of awnswerd this already ? Is the gns model your favorite? I'm thinking of buying one , I own a genisis in flat grind and a HC carbon. I'm very fond of the kephardt spear design. I'm down to either getting a gns or a bushcrafter model in spear point. Thinking of trying a different blade shape from them.

Thanks for the support! I own a few LTs and I would say I may GNS with a sabre grind is probably my favorite LT. It has a very sharp point on it but has been very strong. Can’t go wrong with a Woodlore style blade.
