I carry two 25 ft lengths of webbing the first one, has a water knot tied in it. Its under my coat liner and down each arm. If I have to do a drag, I can pull the loop out each sleeve and tie onto the injured firefighter. The second does not have a knot. Its daisy chained and in my pocket for utility and bailout usage. I'm glad to see i'm not the only one who carries a leatherman and a knife (Spyderco for me).

I'm no firefighter.. But I don' t guess it why the first of all did not start to attack the delta side where the flames were raging from the upper and first floor window. By the immense amount of black smoke this looked like an oiil tank fire in a refinery. Must have been at least around 1,000 or more degrees celsius. The heat radiation from it might cause the paint on the next house- beta side- to boil. Self ignition temperature of dry wood ranges from 280 to 340 degrees C. My common sense guess might be: attack the flames to apply cooling water/ steam and put up a blocking position/ riegel stellung aka watershield to cool the beta front of the house to the right, attempting to prevent this building from self ignition... Even if the burning building is at a loss, give it a controlled burn down if so. But protect the neighborhood!! I can't tell if a ladder should have been put up in this case or not. But I wondered how long it took until the team started to attack the delta side flames... This videos may be helpful to look into certain fire situations afterwards. Looking what you can learn from, integrate into trainings and finally improve fire fighting strategies, even not two fires will be the same. Thank you for uploading these videos👍

I clicked on this video so scared. With each number I was scared I would be deterred from wanting to join and training for it but what a relief it was. Thank you for making this video. You’ve encouraged and informed me so much. (Even if it was four years ago)

I hope you're doing well! I'm reaching out because I've recently obtained my CPR Level 3 certification, and I'm eager to take the next steps in securing a job in this field. However, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed as I’m unsure of where to apply, especially with the abundance of websites out there-some of which may not be reliable. Could you kindly guide me on the best way forward? I’d appreciate any advice on where I can apply for legitimate job opportunities, as well as suggestions for trustworthy websites or platforms that specialize in healthcare, safety, or emergency response roles. Thank you so much for your help! Your guidance would mean a lot to me as I take this important next step in my career.

One thing I would dispute is with the white helmet idk about other departments around the us but by us a white helmet is an officer not just chief so it could be an assistant chief that is in the video inside of the house not necessarily the chief other then that great video and analysis of what happened

@16:42. Wrong! If someone calls a mayday do not just run out. Keep working to fight the fire so the RIT can deploy while hopefully protecting the area where the mayday has occurred.

@6:24. Keep in mind this is lightweight construction. The stairs took some heat and all 6 are trying to get in the stairs which maybe susceptible to collapse and there advancing with into the fire instead of using the length of the stream.

I think this is bad analysis. You shouldn’t kick the door off the hinges. You need to be able to control the door. Don’t go in until the line is charged. Look with your TIC and find where you’re going. At 4:30 they did not have water in the fire probably because they couldn’t find the stairs.

That's what I often think about while watching firefight videos: digitization. Porbably one of methods to decrease the cost of the tech is modularization: a basic new-tech gear, cool, but w/o electronics; a basic set of electronics that can be installed into the gear, providing most important functions; an extended set of electronics with even more functions; same "tiered" concept for other components of a larger modular system, so you can do the "20% of changes is responsible for 80% of improvement" thing. Anyways, I think that crews should also be trained how to act in case of this system malfunctions, coz cool tech is a huge helper, but sometimes you have to do things "the old way".. The video is almost 3 years old (ah, and the reviewed vid is from 2016?), I wonder if these new smart technologies have anyhow manifested "in the field" by now. Using an opportunity to speak, I doubt I'm ever becoming a firefighter coz I'm not a good fit for the job (though I had a brief experience of volunteering under my father's command during a few forest fires), though watching your videos makes me think more about fire safety, not to mention that seeing the everyday work of emergency services is really inspiring, showing the amount of care people can give to each other.

Bad idea of "kicking" door in. Too high a rack of injury in many ways. Use your tools appropriately.

Listened to this video 3x over. thank you so much. Granted I was shaky in my first 2 minutes but I killed the mid to end interview I appreciate you brother. I will say the department I interviewed with was fairly laid back but I think I cemented a good foundation based on your insight.

Not necessarily fire (though firefighters respond to EMS calls with my people) but something I found out in my first clinical, is that you can’t be afraid of gross things. I got covered in pee, poo, vomit, blood, bile, and cockroaches. All on my first training. I didn’t realize just how many gross situations you will be in.

Thank you for giving back to the fire community in this manner. It's helping the most motivated candidates get a leg up in the ultra-competitive barrier to entry to this career path. This video helped me land a spot on my number one department after my very first interview. Thank you, I'll do my best to give back the way you have done with this channel.

Sounds like a story of something Samson did in Judges 15:1-5 after he found his father in law gave his wife to another. He caught 300 foxes, tied them tail to tail and placed a torch between each and set them running through the wheat fields!

Hey how does working out actually go when on shift. Like have any of you guys ever has a crazy workout at the station and then got a call near the end of your workout and you need to rollout to a potentially long, tough call and your gas tank is already almost empty. What if you have to pee on a call? Do you guys keep energy bars on the truck you can gulp down in a pinch on the way to the call? I have so many questions

Civilian firefighting training at some little fire academy or community college versus United States Marine corps training you got to be a complete idiot to compared to both of them you could compare civilian firefighter training two one week at Coast guard basic training much less Marine corps or any other military basic training!!!😂😂😂

As much water as they are dumping on this fire it hasn't gone out. Why don't they dump AFFF on this fire. You said there's probably lots of unknown liquids on the ground. AFFF would do the trick, right?
