Correct -- this is the fifth edition of L5R, not L5R for D&D 5e 👍 I played D&D 5e extensively and still own it, but don't like it, so I generally avoid 5e conversions for most things.

Oh I'll definitely come back to this game line, having had the chance now to fully assimilate the rules and experience the game :) I've also picked up a bunch more books too. No real estimate yet on when the detailed reviews will come, but for sure they will be in the coming months!

Sadly this has always been the case with Star Wars RPGs! Making physical RPG products is fine, but Lucasfilm prohibits the distribution of PDFs in most cases (small freebies are OK). Of course they can be found if one knows where to look, but they're scans and therefore quite varying in quality, plus KZbin would probably frown on me sharing any links😅

@@djthorsilver Thanks. That seems so strange and weird that they do that and don’t let them do that. Personally I think it is a lost to the game and limits the game. But thanks for the info.

Sorry for the late reply! I think running this in the 1930s would be reasonable, but dialing it back to the 1920s would take a bit more work. Also it's very much a pulpy, punch-the-Mythos-in-the-face game, but equally you could achieve that with Call of Cthulhu 7e + Pulp Cthulhu + Masks and not have to do all the conversion to 2d20. Personally, as someone running a classic, non-pulpy campaign of Masks right now using Call of Cthulhu 7e, I'd say go with that rather than using A!C 2d20, mainly because Masks is a LOT of work for the GM even when using the system it's built for :) I'm loving every second of it, but converting to 2d20 would probably tip the prep into the 'overwhelming' category for me if I deviated too far from its CoC/BRP roots on top of just keeping track of the 666 pages of campaign + 300 handouts and everything else!
