Hello, one thing that is very important is that you get better "proxy" details at full zoom than coming very very close using wide angle, it is not much more but enough for me to never do close shots at wide angle but always full zoom and also with the benefit of not reducing the ambiant light, no shadow, able to ise flash, not scaring too much the butterflies and so on. One thing I still have to test is to add a closup lens in front of the RX10IV lens to see if I can go closer like 40-50cm to get even more details.

I have not worked with the Panasonic Lumix FZ 1000 II, but I see that it has a shorter zoom range than the Sony RX10 IV. I have not made a detailed comparison of the features of the two cameras, but I would choose the Sony RX10 IV as having excellent features and fine quality of photos and videos.

I would find it hard to respond without more information, such as what environment you're shooting in (indoor, outdoor, day, night, etc.), whether the flashes are automatic or manual, and what camera settings you are already using. When I took flash shots with that camera, I often resorted to trial and error, in order to ensure good results.

Hi there - I'd like to use my RX100 M3 and mount to my telescope eye piece. Which pieces do I need to buy? I wasn't sure if I need that first piece that you connected a filter too or not.
@alexswhite
@alexswhite Жыл бұрын
You need to get a filter adapter that attaches to the front of the lens and allows the use of 49mm filters or other accessories. Then, what I did was purchase a 49mm Digi-Kit from telescopeadapters.com. Once you attach the filter adapter and the Digi-Kit items to the camera, you can attach the camera to a standard telescope eyepiece. You have to be careful, because the connection between the camera and the telescope will be somewhat delicate, but you can get good results.

Is it possible to add a shotgun or any external microphone to this camera?
@alexswhite

@alexswhite

@@littlenel17 I haven't done this myself recently, but when I did it a few years ago with Adobe Premiere Pro, it was very easy and quick. If I recall correctly, you would select both audio tracks, right-click, and select a command such as Synchronize Audio. There undoubtedly is a similar procedure in other software packages. If you have multiple video and audio files, that would take more time, but if you have just one long video file and a corresponding file of external audio, you could sync the audio tracks before you start cutting together the various components of your finished product. There probably are tutorials on this on KZbin.

This feature sets the camera to record still images during video recording, but only when the camera detects a scene that its programming indicates as being suitable for a still image, such as a close-up of a face or some other "impressive" subject. Make sure you set the frequency for this setting to High, and aim the camera at a human face, and see if that triggers the operation of this feature. I recommend setting the camera on a firm tripod and leaving it in video recording mode for some time, to see if it captures any still images.

@@alexswhite hello, thank you for these valuable tips. I did the test with a tripod and a 29 min recording and a high frequency automatic dual record. No photos were taken. @@lalyreamicaledepoissy523 I did personally test this feature several years ago, when I first got my RX10 IV camera, and it did work. My recollection of the details is hazy now, and I no longer have the camera, so I can't test it again. But one important point is that you are at the mercy of the Sony camera's decision as to whether a given scene is sufficiently "impressive" to trigger a still image capture. I recommend experimenting with lighting, angle, distance, etc., to see if it will take a picture of a human face at a relatively close distance.

I am a French amateur musician and I often make videos of the orchestras in which I play. Do you know someone who can help me or give me the criteria to respect. thank you in advance
@alexswhite
@alexswhite 2 жыл бұрын
@@lalyreamicaledepoissy523 I understand better now what you are trying to do, but I don't believe the Auto Dual Recording feature will be very helpful to you. As I noted, it is totally up to the camera's programming to decide when to capture a still image, and I don't know what criteria it uses, other than shooting when "impressive compositions, including people, are detected." I know of no way to determine more precisely what criteria Sony uses, though I believe the function can be triggered by a close-up view of a human face. So, it seems unlikely that you will capture images that are useful to you using this feature. I think you would be better off setting the camera to record video in a high-quality format, using Movie Mode (mode dial at Movie) position, and setting the shutter speed to a fairly fast value so you can stop action. You may then be able to extract relatively high-quality still images from the video footage, especially if you are able to record using the 4K format. You can ask Sony technical support for more details about the criteria that are used for the Auto Dual Recording feature, and maybe they can provide more details.

The images are stored in the DCIM folder on the card, but the videos are stored in a separate area. On the card, look in the Private folder, then in the M4ROOT folder or the AVCHD folder. In the M4ROOT folder, the video files will be in the CLIP subfolder. In the AVCHD folder, you have to dig down a few more levels, to BDMV, then others. Here is a discussion thread that lays out the system: www.dpreview.com/forums/post/66193399.
