Parkinson is my favorite of the old DnD artist. His cover for the Forgotten Realms gray box is 👌

Eq and eqoa enchanter is still the favorite class I have played in anything ever. I still can't find a system or classes that feels like them. While yes, I understand eqoa enchanter is different from eq enchanter but they feel different enough from all of the other games attempts. Even 5e, the enchanter just don't quite scratch the itch.

I always liked how EQ2 zones looks, however...they really need to do something about spell effects, it's just too much colours at the same time.

I always loved the Scars of Velious box art the most, it had such an epic and overwhelming feel, like no matter what side you were on there were things big enough out there to stomp us all. All of Parkinson's pieces for the game are beauties

Parkinson did the best key art for EQ in my opinion. It was what drew me into the game originally. I will say though that Kerem Beyit does a damn good job.

This might be my favorite episode yet. Keith's art is such an enormous part of the game. I also loved seeing how zones are made. Kudos to Daybreak for sharing the raw media from behind the scenes. Thanks for making this for us!

A real banger of an episode. You have a great deal of craft in what you do, and thank you for putting these out there. Other than the people, nothing will evoke the time I spent with EQ as much as the art and the music, so these episodes have been a real time capsule for me. As an inveterate halfling player, I can't not come back and watch after being teased with the Rivervale theme! And of course I have to say Parkinson.

Keith Parkinson is definitely my favorite fantasy artist of all time. I used to buy his calendar every year, and also bought a signed print of the Diablo 2 art he did. I wish I did the same for the Everquest artwork he did, but of course none of us knew he was going to pass away. I was also much younger and didn't have the money I have now. May he rest in peace. I'm sure it is easy for him to do so seeing his upstanding son honor his work all these years later. Thank you for another great episode Fading.

wow how did this show up... I played EQ back in 99 and started EQ2 at launch... last fan fair I attended was in Atlanta, I actually have a Elmore from that and met him there. After SOE died I figured EQ all of it was gone. Nice to know it's still out there even though I probably wouldn't recognize it anymore.

It's hard to believe they create such beautiful zones in just a year. The character designs for the last expansions and now these upcoming releases are gorgeous. The dragons are just wow. As far as my favorite artists, I'd have to say Keith has a special place in my heart. He was there when I started playing and my memories are tied up in his storytelling. Kerem Beyit is a stunningly skilled artist, and I'm thrilled he's taken over for both games. That cover for Scars of Destruction radiates menace. The cold countenance of Lucan is everything you want in a villain. I just love the Art Nouveau quality of all Kerem's creations.

RIP Bladar! /mourn Some absolutely amazing art work! And it is not just for visual appeal... I really enjoy the way the artwork also tells a story... it really reflects that Norrath is a real world, with its own history and events! To me it really says something when people think about how events, people and creatures impact the environment and put it in! Even putting in the spheres! Truly grateful for the visual story telling! Thanks for highlighting this! And especially the art of Keith Parkinson! I used to have a lot of that art on the wall in my room!

So happy to see this in my recommendations. As Nick said in the interview, anyone who met Keith, no matter how briefly, would have to agree that he was awesome. I would also add that the apple does not fall far from the tree. They paid me a kindness during a very painful part of my life, and I am grateful for it to this day. They hosted a gathering at their house in what I believe was 2002, and it was my first time meeting people from an online community. It was extremely terrifying to me to be there, a clinically depressed and legally truant 16 year old who hadn't left his house in months, but my mother coincidentally had a work assignment in the area at around the same time, and even if she was very confused as to how I knew these people, she was glad for anything that motivated me to actually socialize. She dropped me off for the night, and while I was glad to be there, I was still very much out of my element. I mainly just sat on the periphery, but I remember Nick going out of his way to try to include me, and by the end, I had made some very nice memories. Even more, the next morning Keith was kind enough to bring me to a restaurant with Nick and his brother, where we had breakfast with my mother, and where I parted ways. What an awesome thing to do, to sacrifice your morning transporting and dining with some random kid that your son kind of knows from a message board. It is often said that one is not truly gone until the people who they influenced are also dead, so I believe Keith is very much still kicking around, through his family, through his art, and through his actions. They have very much impressed a change on this world, which I am reminded of every time I see his art.
