Your right about benzodiazepines the longer you take them the harder they are to get off , and while your on the benzo, it will not make your anxiety better when you decide to come off them ,,, but may i say the 18 years i was on xanax it gave me my life back , not a nerve in my body , i thank the Psychiatrist for the 18 years , but he did not tell me about the consequences of , tolerance , dependency, a hell of a addiction , and not telling me the right way of getting off this very addictive drug , but thank you for the 18 years i was well , since its 2024 now and the internet is with us , watching all these videos on you tube really really makes a person taking benzos absolutely shit themselves , this lady is pretty good at explaining how to reduce your anxiety and make your brain come back down to normality , it really sounds simple , just like to explain something , back in the 90s i tried that for 5 years with every one , did not do anything for me , but she sounds pretty convincing , if you have really really bad anxiety where you can't get out of your house , take xanax until about 6 months until you stabilize wean off with Valium very slowly , until the addiction go's , then go and see her or somebody as good as her , then may be her method might work until researchers find a cure , if they really want to find a cure

The best way to recognise Obsessive Thought is Anxiety + Urgency to Fix it = OCD. This formula will work definitely in every situation.

thanks for the great video Dr. Pradko. I'm currently in a similar situation dealing with panic disorder, OCD (Health anxiety), cardiophibia, and to some extent, agoraphobia. my biggest fears are palpitations and blood pressure numbers and the little one is fainting. whenever I panic or go somewhere without my safety persons or pills (benzos), I always think of getting a sudden heart attack and fainting. other activities and emotions like arousal, excitement and watching movies or playing video games are somehow triggering my anxiety as they are inherently coped with increased heart rate and blood pressure and natural mechanisms and hormone response happening during these activities or emotions. the odd thing is that all of them are positive emotions but share the symptoms that I experience during anxiety and panic episodes and when I have these positive emotions, they remain literally positive for only 4 to 5 seconds and suddenly lead to triggering my anxiety especially arousal (sometimes I avoid my partner) and video games.

I new i should have taken therapy. I was dealing with anxiety and emotional pain. I didn't need medication. I was functioning well. Just dealing with anxiety and emotional pain di to my experiences in life. I was sleeping like a baby. I new that medication was not the answer, therapy was the way to go because emotional pain had to do with my experience in life,so you have to dig deep and talk release that energy. Medication is not going to take pain away do to life experience . Therapy was more powerful. Unfortunately i didn't listen to gut feeling and listen to my husband im now ruined.

Ive been battling sexual intrusive thoughts. Im recently learning about pure ocd. It so awkward bringing this up to my doctor because of fear of judgement.
@PaigePradkoTherapy
@PaigePradkoTherapy Күн бұрын
I’m sorry that you are having those intrusive thoughts. The advantage of working with an OCD specialist is that there is no judgement about any OCD theme. Unfortunately, a medical professional that is not trained in OCD may not understand OCD intrusive thoughts and themes in OCD.

It is common and normal to feel sensations after eating. Perhaps accepting this as “normal” will help your anxiety to decline.

I need to take my propranolol for highblood pressure but had an anxiety attack and even panic just simply changing to a generic one. But I told myself that this is for both anxiety as a off label use and above all to help save my life. But I now have to take a new generic and a higher dose so I am scared. Funny thing is its ony 10mg higher which my doctor said is such a low dose. I just wish I dont work my self uo taking the increase.

This video is 4 yrs old so is the fear hierarchy not used at all anymore?
@PaigePradkoTherapy
@PaigePradkoTherapy 2 күн бұрын
Some therapists still use a fear hierarchy and it can still be helpful. However, Inhibitory Learning is widely accepted and encourages people to prioritize tolerating anxiety and learning something new in exposures versus thinking of anxiety sensations as “bad” and prioritizing only the decrease in anxiety.

I was doing alot of chores around the house and went to carry my daughter to bed and my heartbstarts skipping over and over for about 5-10 mins. It was beating super hard and fast. When I sat down to check my blood pressure the left arm was 126/76 Pulse 91 then the right arm about 2 mins later it was 124/72 Pulse 86. I'm 5'10 150 lbs. I tried to cough and even do the hold breath vagus nerve trick and my heart skipping and fast beating. It was super scary. I started breathing deep it stopped. For those 5-15 mins from start to finish I thought I was gonna have a heart attack. Can anyone please provide feedback? If I'm feeling OK after the palpitation episode is that a good sign? I'm so scared. Just a FYI I had drunk some iced tea and ate some fried chicken a few hours before this. Please help?!

I'm sorry to say this is not helpful for me at all. Or the info in the first half was realy good. But all the tips on how to manage it is the receipt to make it so much worse. I usally ignore my symptoms and keep doing what I was doing before, waiting for it to pass. Sometimes it does go away. Most times it slowly gets worse. Hyperventialtion will just trigger an panic attack if I'm allready disociated. Staring in a mirror will make the DPDR so bad that I get somewhat convinced it's not even me in the mirror. I really want tips on how to manage this, but all tips in this video would just make it worse for me. 😢

The frustrating thing that keeps me stuck is my safety precautions are necessary due to my epilepsy. Its not like exposure to stressors will just give me a panic attack, they could actually kill me. But if you black out everything in the world that provides a trigger for your epilepsy theres no safe space, theres a potential threat everywhere. Ive definitely developed agoraphobia over the past few years.
