Hi Maris, I just found this video and decided to do it after watching your introduction because you were clear, to the point, and explained up front what equipment was required and options. It was my first real yin yoga session and exactly what I was looking for - a slow, deep stretch that was structured and paced. I typically enjoy Iyenga style yoga but after some absence, I needed to start by long gentle stretches, so this is helping me to pick up my home yoga practice again. I can see that it also helps with stress and is perfect for evening practice too. Thanks for your clarity and I will check out your other videos. I see that this one is your first video 2yrs ago, so I imagine your following ones can only be amazing, since you started at a very great level! Thanks again and namaste.

Great stuff Maris, Yin is the best type of yoga. I did a little video on foot activation for safe yoga on my channel. I did it with my iphone and its not that fancy you will be able to do a better version for your site! From my readings so far I can see that foot activation protects the knees in all poses and also paying attention to warning signs the body gives you to prevent over extension. Ego and a restless mind can get you into trouble no matter what type of yoga you are doing I think. Namaste and many thanks for you class. I am very grateful

+Eoin Kelly That's great! I will watch your video. I know I need to do more rolling myself with the yoga tune-up balls that I have. Thanks for letting me know. I will sit down today and write you back. Thank you so much!

I will definitely want to alternate yours and the others. I love the voice over instruction which is clear and at a good pace. I enjoyed this video. It was a little bit above my level (tight hips..) but the overall feel was spectacular! If you haven't already, you should do another one that includes standing poses and vinyasa sequence (dog, plank, chat, ect.). Off topic, is that the right terminology for down-dog > plank > chatarunga > backbend > down-dog. Vinyasa sequence?
@YogaUpload8 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Do you mean do Yin Yoga with standing poses? Yin Yoga is mostly a floor practice of deep stretches. To answer your question - "vinyasa" can refer to the plank-chaturanga-updog-downdog sequence. It also refers to the Vinyasa style of yoga which is the flowing style. I did a video talking about the differences of Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, and Hatha styles. That might make things clearer. Here it is: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZLEeX6agKdsf7s
@timothyporter19958 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The video about the different schools of yoga was very informative. I understand why my request doesn't makes sense. I have a lot of trouble getting aligned in downward facing dog and I was just looking for something that gave me a little more time to get in the pose. (I learned that my down dog wasn't right from your tutorial videos, btw. They were great.) Thank you for your reply.
@YogaUpload8 жыл бұрын
No problem! Glad the tutorials helped. Although I give a lot of tips and guidelines about the poses, we will still all look different when we practice because we all have different bodies (issues, injuries, bone structure, etc.).
