Please…accept JESUS CHRIST as your SAVIOUR today before it’s too late! Repent and believe…. John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Romans 10:9-13 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

You left off a big chapter of V. Kenneth Johnson left the second series because it really started from where he wanted it to go. For example, Elizabeth, the first half human/half alien baby was never supposed to be a super being. Lol. So years later he wrote a book titled V: The Second Generation which ignored everything after the first mini series and told the story he had intended to tell. It's a really good book. It picks up the drop plotline that the aliens have an enemy that might help Earth.

She's constantly invading people's personal space and touching them in a manner that clearly makes them uncomfortable. Jane Badler and Jenny Sullivan sold the scenes; believably playing the dynamic of a predator in a position of authority and her victim who is too meek to push back.

Minty just wanted to throw this tidbit in the comments. Kenneth Johnson wrote a follow up novel called V the next Generation. That picked up 20 years after the original miniseries. The book talks about the effects the Visitors have had on society and the earth after being here for over 2 decades. It was a pretty decent book

V was a good old fashion TV sci-fi show weird stuff well got Freddy himself Robert Englund
@someoneoncesaid6978Күн бұрын
The problem with the TV show is that they tried to make it a Sci-Fi version of Dynasty / Falcon Crest (which were popular at the time), which went completely against the show's original demographic of teenage boys. They literally had a subplot toward the end of the marriage of Charles and Diana. So, the teenage boys stopped watching, and transforming it into a Sci-Fi soap opera didn't attract middle-aged women (which is the primary demographic for that type of show). It was probably one of the stupidest network decisions of the decade.

I remember watching it back in the day …one of the greatest TV miniseries of all time. I re-watched it about 2 years ago and it holds up very well. An 80’s classic great childhood memory.

The reboot was ok, but it had nowhere near the emotional or cultural impact as the original. I feel that the lessons that SCI FI movies, books, comics and series taught are somehow lost in the current generation. As the US flirts with Fascism, I am hopeful that someone will wake up just in time

I was too young to catch V on UK TV and I don't think it got many repeats. The more I learn about this show the more amazing i think it would have been to see it. I'm tempted to get this on physical media. The 2011 series was pretty short but I enjoyed it. 1984 was a really good year for TV as well as movies.

Loved V as a kid in the 80s even tho we never got to see the final series. Couple of points : 1) They reused some of the "ships" from Space 1999 2) The V thing with Churchill dates back to the battles of Crecy & Agincourt and is the UK equivalent of the middle finger (We are archers and we still have our fingers etc) 3) There was an unofficial computer game made for the Dragon 32 and Tandy TRS-80 called "Shocktrooper" . It had the theme tune , symbols , space craft etc but couldnt get the copyright to call it a V game.

There is a way to tie this series to a featured movie. At the very end of this first series? They was trying to send out a signal to enemies of the Vistors. (Whom they thought could be help them.) I think that is what was basically the plot of the movie "Independence Day" (I don't think they was any connection.) but ignore that I guess and could be a way to bring this to the big screen. I don't think that would work tho. Probably be better off just making an entire new movie. Too much time has passed now. Either way, I loved this series as a kid. Would love to see a full length movie from it.
