Busting out those ankle weights today for a quick 10 Minute ABS and BOOTY Workout. Add this one on to any of your other sweat sessions or use it on it's own for a quick workout when you're short on time. We will use a series of exercises and added resistance from the ankle weights to target both the abs and the glutes. Dearest Heather, You have saved my life! This sounds exaggerated but I am about to tell you the most amazing thing. About a year ago I started having piriformis pain. It took months to define what this severe pinching in my right buttocks even was. Every time I bent down it felt like I had a mousetrap clipped onto the deepest part of my butt. It went from bad, to horrific, to unbearable. I searched and messaged up to 20 different physical therapist on youtube that promised this "one stretch would get rid of the pain instantly". It got to where I couldn't do weight lifting anymore because single leg moves like a static lunges hurt so bad. Then it got to where my daily life was hard. Going up stairs, the pinch was always there. Loading the dishwasher, pinch pinch! I went to chiropractors and massage therapists.... nothing brought relief. Fast forward to three days ago. I started your HR4.0 series. I had started it months ago but quit early on due to my piriformis. I just decided to push through the pain and deal with it because I missed working out. I got to day 4...abs and hip mobility. When I was doing the abs, even laying on the floor and pulling my legs in and up for ab work cause the pinching and me to wince. THEN! I did the hip mobility. I had had a headache that day and was pretty focused on that. When I got up from the workout and started on with my day, I realized that my pinch was gone. I chalked it up to the tylenol that I had taken for my headache. Later that evening, the pain was still gone. The next day, I woke (normally hobbling out of bed) But.... pain still gone. I was shocked to my core. HOW could something so debilitated be gone due to 7 easy moves on the floor. NO WAY, I thought. I did some reading and sure enough piriformis can be caused by tight hips. All the videos, stretching moves, multiple devices I bought like Franklin Balls and professionals I was seeing never addressed my hips. And stretching it in pilates form was actually counterproductive. Late on in the day, I ended up sitting for about an hour and had the ever so smallest feeling that it was coming back. I hit the ground in my office and did all of the hip mobility exercises and GONE. Heather, you are wonderful at what you do. I have always loved your workouts. What stands out for me is the easy flow with not much talking. I find it distracting when trainers talk a lot. I just love your format. I know you had no intention of saving me when you filmed ABS and hip mobility, but that was a pivotal point in my life for me. I still have PTSD when I bend down to pick something up off the floor. I immediately expect pain and the fact that it's gone brings tears to my eyes. I have all the exercises on a little piece of paper. And this morning when I woke up, the first thing I did was those hop mobility moves. It's maintenance for me now and it feels so wonderful. I vote for more mobility moves woven into workouts. They are life changing!!!! Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU!!!!
