Hello I have a question I own a 2004 mercury mountaineer truck well I have something going that's draining the battery when I shut it off so I have to un do the positive post at night but I went to AutoZone and it was check it read either the battery was charging to fast or to slow I think it could be a short or wire issues

I don’t currently have a video on that, but generally you do a “parasitic draw “ test with a multimeter hooked in between your car and your battery. I’ll add this video to my to-do list because I think it would be a great one to add to this channel. For your case - always start with obvious things like: - any aftermarket accessories (lights, radio, horns, etc) - a really old battery can act like this (normal life is about 5 years, and they usually have a date in the side or top of them) - make sure your alternator is putting about about 13.5v with the engine running.

great video. never knew how that worked! I have a weird problem: right blinker works normal- stalk up and right blinker light on dash lights up and blinks, but when I use stalk down for left blinker both lights on dash come on blinking (like hazards). could there be separate relays for each direction and maybe one of them is bad? can't wrap my head around what's happening there. thanks

The two common reasons for that to happen are: - turn signal switch is broken (it usually feels slightly different when this happens. Softer “click” feeling) - somebody put the wrong bulb in somewhere and its acting wonky Do either of these scenarios sound plausible?

do you know why it offsets sometimes it ticks quicker than usual?

Generally that happens because a bulb is burned out, so the amperage draw through the flasher changes, which then means the bimetallic metal heats and cools at a different rate, and the lights flash differently.

This can also change based on heat, it’s very simple and many factors can change flashing speed

I turned off the ignition and step outside of the vehicle the inside dome would go off but the front and back lights would stay on until I on due to positive post it's a older battery ac Delco
