@@RebeccaZungEsq yes please. 8 years dating 3 states and i really believed he loved knew and wanted me. I had many proposals (4) before he finally asked. Thinking back on that day. He didn't even plan it at least it sure didn't seem like it. No ring, hotel, convention of mine (i had stupidly invited him ) with my friends. I never noticed his jealous for my bubbly easy-going and outgoing nature. I didn't realize how much of my personal mind set and conduct would be broken down with his "quietly mastered know everything belittling blame me for his narcissistic controlling mother who basically punished OUR family by being a covert narc big time to me. My boys and my husband never saw how she'd proposally her under my skin with my kids (hair cuts school stealing outfits i has bought on a budget while she'd gift for 20+ years to my 2 boys my 2 nieces, her own 2 sons, and her OLDEST son's wife $13,000 every year. Max she could give individually without paying taxes.... oddly the sister in law was independently wealthy and didn't need her "gifts". Me? I grew up happily poor in a single 2 step dads household. I knew the issues we had in life. My mother Venus, would remind me of when i remembered time my life before earth born. She'd say how i warmed her heart saying i picked her before i was born. And i honestly recall that moment as it was yesterday 50 years ago. Crazy cuz i remember feeling her loneliness knew i needed to be with her. We had teenager challenges but outside of that we were best friends. My mother was loving caring straight forward honest to a fault. Meaning she'd tell you harsh truth if you needed to hear it. David's mom was demanding judgemental and i sadly realize now damaging to my sons as well as toxic to my marriage. Now shes moved away, he has been mentally on an attack against me. He's shown me threats (invited total "girls -scammers tqo come stay in my/our family home. Of courseq he gave these strangers half a million dollars noneq to me none reinvested he never gave me access to more tush his paychecks which he'd spend before i could.... bitch if i needed $100 once a month. I keep asking him what im worth cuz he's shown me nothing. Absolutely nothing. And of course this all happened 2021-2023 and he broke and expects me to BELIEVE that after all his chasing i he still loves me... bologna. I don't feel loved and realize now i never was by him.

My late husband would say " And, what did YOU do all day"? Like I had to account to him for my time. I stopped answering him and would just glare at him until he went away. Their entitlement is off the charts. I am a grown ass woman and I don't have to account to anyone what I spend my time doing.

My narc sister had her personality since early childhood. My mother passed away when we were young. My Dad worked. My sister was self appointed “in charge”. She would ask me the same, inspect my work and beat me up. Looking back, I think for her fun. To this day, I am a hard worker and a good house cleaner, yard maintainer thanks to her abuse. I know how I do not want to be. Good does come out of it.

Totally, My Ex Narcissist Treated me like a complete Nonentity, I think Narcissists Are incapable of Apologizing sincerely and feeling remorseful for their bad Behavior and downright Heinous Actions.
@tenningale

They don't think about how their actions affect other people. For example, my covert narc mom loves to size people up by money and "status," and always wants to know people's financial information and gossips/lying about it. She doesn't understand that that irritates people and makes people trust her less. When they start to distance themselves from her, to her that's something "wrong" with that person. No ability to self-reflect. Even with this one example there are so many angles/behaviors that reveal her narcissism - gossiping, lying, lack of empathy (either need to "get a job" or are a leach if too little or don't deserve anyone's sympathy if too high), disrespecting boundaries, invasive questions, weaponizing personal information, oversharing, making sweeping assumptions, triangulating, entitlement, exploitation (has used men for money her whole life and acted like a victim to get money), envy, fantasies of success or power, fragile self-esteem... They also have very little ability to understand nuance. Everything is so black and white to them.

Having gone through narc abuse most of my life and coming through the healing process, I now have boundaries and count on my gut instincts but the biggest red flag about someone is if everyone gushes about how nice someone is. In my experience both of the narcs in my life were thought of like this by everyone except me. Nice has an agenda. Kindness flows from the heart.

Hello Rebecca. I am finally recovering after one year of her being gone. She physically beat me up the last time we actually were alone in the same room. For the last five years she would make comments like "You're in my space" or "I don't feel safe when you are there". (In the Past) For years I would walk up to her and kiss her on the cheek or neck. There was never a comment of dislike. Then one day she started saying "what are you some kind of an Indian quietly seeking up on me"? Next she started saying, don't stand in the kitchen, give me my space or you are bothering me standing near me or don't come within five feet of me. The last thing she would say was don't stand up when I come in the room, you intimidate me. Finally her statement was "If you come within five feet of me I will call the Police". WOW 45 years with her, I never did anything to her to receive these threats. The day she got mad and it turned into a physical altercation I held my arms to my sides and let her attack me. I did not lift a finger to her. I knew this could be flipped into me bruising her in my defense. I did not want her to be the one calling the Police or I would be the one going to Jail. I let her have her way, I did not fight back, she continued to hurt me. She knocked me down and got on top of me, I was face down and I started to yell out HELP, someone call the Police, she is hurting me. I continued to call out as loud as I could. She continued until I started to choke and struggle for my breath. She then stopped and grabbed her purse and ran out the front door. I had a hard time getting up and struggling to breathe, Then I called the Police on her.

Some life skills I’ve observed narcissist lack: 1) They lack empathy which means that they can’t have genuine relationships (intimate or platonic). 2) Similarly, because their “relationships” are transactional, and they often instrumentalize people, they lack the ability to truly love or feel truly loved (Voldemort). 3) They lack gratitude which means that they can’t feel satisfied with their life because they are comparing themselves to others and complaining about things. 4) They have distorted self-esteem; their insecurity in themselves means that they cannot acknowledge skills, goodness or greatness in others, which also means they are not likely to empower others. 5) They often seek power over others as a proxy for a relationship or want to be in leadership positions but some factors that collude against effective leadership that produces good outcomes are lack of empathy, accountability and, potentially, responsibility (although the latter is not true for the self-righteous narc).

are these narcissists responsible for who they are? who created them? how they became one? should we empathize with them? My husband who is a narc and I suffered a lot because of him , but somehow got hold of my life and still with him because of kids , but managing extremely well even with his presence . sometimes i feel like forgiving him. holding a grudge against anyone is such an ill feeling for myself..I want to set him and myself free from all of these.
