One of my favorite stalls too. Thanks for adding in the additional part on the chilli. Btw his wife also opened a stall at Amoy street for couple years but I think they eventually decided to focus on the stall at Hong Lim.

Hi Greg, great content as always! I think it would be very fun if there could be a series of videos explaining the cuisine of each dialect group. For example why certain groups eat more seafood or why a group prepares their food with more salt. Just a suggestion

The Tekka hawker centre Heng Jee Braised Goose and Duck rice. I had eaten at the Tekka Hawker Centre but it was a long wait and long queue during 11.30am to 2pm. I also patronised Ah Peng Hainanese Chicken Rice at Tekka Hawker Centre. Ah Peng Hainanese Chicken Rice stall is very near to Heng Jee. Just slightly behind Heng Jee can find Ah Peng Hainanese Chicken Rice stall. Run by ah Peng the owner and his wife. You should go try Ah Peng Hainanese Chicken Rice.

The braised duck looks really delicious. Will check it out when I am next in Singapore. Not sure where this stall is located even though I had wild boar meat, prawn noodles and crayfish hor-fun at this food court before.

Have you tried the famous one at the McPherson triangle where Jalan Toa Payoh meets McPherson Road near St Andrew's School? It's legendary & many old Heroes at Chua Chu Kang cemetery claimed that's the Father of all braised duck 🦆 in Singapore since WWII! TQ

Hi Greg, I finally tried it early this week. Had the Kway Chap with additional duck meat. I agree with all the parts of the meat especially the large intestines, skin, and belly pork. However, the duck meat was a letdown because it was rather dry. Maybe I will try it next time and order Duck rice since the sauce might help make it. Thanks for this recommendation.

Greg, names pronounced in Teochew, Hokkien, Hainan or Cantonese always sound more reassuring and authentic than in Mandarin. The latter always sounds SO very approximate. #greatvid

I often eat their kuey chap but duck rice i forget it's taste already. As i prefer duck rice from ghim moh market so i stop buying their duck rice for many years. Hmm maybe i should give it another try the next time i go there.

Seems like an unpopular opinion here, but I LOVED the stall at Tekka market (Heng Gi) especially for the chilli, for how sour it was. But I gotta admit my opinion is biased as my palette does like the sour stuff.

Am also a huge fan of teochew braised duck. Nothing beats that umami-ladened lor! May I please recommend that you try the following: 1. Ah Seng Duck Rice (Serangoon Central / Serangoon Garden Hawker Centr 2. Tai Dong Teochew Duck Rice (Sims Vista) These are my go to!
