Jeff Jones, I agree with you completely on that! Anna doesn't "love" the cult mentality she was born into and raised on - it's the one and only thing she knows! The IBLP cult doesn't allow divorce, but a few of her siblings divorced, including her brother, Daniel, but she's too weak-minded to "deprogram" herself, like they did! Daniel NEVER liked Josh, and he even called him a pig after learning about his crimes, and that fits him perfectly! He offered to pay her money to divorce Josh, and he even offered to have her and her 7 kids move in with him, but she refused it! She's now paying a terrible price!

I’m just going to say, if I found out my husband did anything to a child especially his own sisters, and continued to view horrific things involving children. My husband wouldn’t have made it to jail number one, a person like that doesn’t deserve to breathe the same air. I certainly would NEVER bring my children to see their father if he did that- NOPE NOPE NOPE.

That just shows just how brainwashed she is. I grew up in IBLP too and even though my family was not as embedded as the Duggars, I often think about having the potential to be as much of a puppet as Anna is. With the amount of crazy stuff they brainwash you with, it because super easy to just listen and do whatever authority tells you to do - in this case, Josh and Jim Bob.

My sister's ex husband was convicted of hurting a family friends 7 year old daughter. The abuse had been going on for a year till the victim came forward and told my sister. My sister is dog loyal but the second she heard what her ex had done she turned him in and cut contact with him. It was one of the hardest things she'd ever done going from married and everything fine to broke single mom over night but she has no regrets. The fact that there are people out there who stay with s*x offenders like that blows my mind. I feel so bad for those kids.

It blows my mind that nearly everyone just turns a blind eye. A trial for one of the abusers of Thoma Valva started yesterday, and nowhere in the trial will they mention the little boys sa and trafficking. Many people talk about the circumstances of the boys murder, but nobody but his mother talks about the clear evidence she has of sadistic sa trafficking of her children. These boys disclosed they were driven to a building equipped with cages where the children were out and sa and injected and more, and my fellow long Islanders don't even think about the fact that one of the buildings on our island house sadistic abuse of children.

I was a correctional officer at an all male prison for 12 years. Inmates get phones from various outlets. One is the commissary is used as money there so he could have paid with commissary to get the phone from another inmate. Also, it could have been put on one of the children or in their diapers which is horrible. He could have also gotten a guard to bring it in for them because guards are dirty. Either way he definitely shouldn’t have it and it doesn’t look good if he tries to go up for parole so they are going to look at that.

Tesha Freeman, it's because they're part of the IBLP cult instead of a REAL church! Sadly, many people STILL live in the Dark Ages and/or Middle Ages! Josh was BORN the way he is, so his parents are only PARTLY to blame, and in a situation like this, you can ONLY blame parents for NOT handling the situation properly! Defending criminals and throwing victims under the bus has happened since the beginning of time, and THAT'S what makes them horrible parents!

I also don’t feel sorry for her when multiple people have offered to take her and the kids in and provide for them and she refused. 3 of her siblings have all said she and the kids can live with them. Well I just hope that when the kids find out the truth about what he’s done (she thinks they won’t but they will) I hope they cut off both parents. I would want nothing to do with my mom if she stood by a pedophile and didn’t protect me from him. I’m glad that the oldest kids didn’t even want to look at him when they visited him.

You also have to take in consideration that Anna has been brainwashed and actually believes that she cannot make it without his family's help. If she were to leave him and have nothing to do with him she believes that her children would go without and would be taken from her. She's been abused and when someone has been abused they suffer from battered women's syndrome and the abuse doesn't have to be physical it can be mental which is way worse. That's why so many abused women stay in relationships. They have been made to feel worthless and that they are absolutely and completely dependent upon their abuser. I have been there, it took me many years of therapy to get to the point of where I stopped blaming myself and knowing that I was worth it and did not need him. It will take something drastic for Anna to snap out of it before she will ask for help. I thought that maybe she would start to realize when Josh wasn't around, but now you have his mom and dad who are telling her the exact same thing as Josh, so she's still being abused and brainwashed. It will most likely take her kids being taken away and made to go to therapy before she realizes that she is being abused before she can fund her voice. She was raised in this type of atmosphere where women do not have voices and you do what and stand behind the man says no matter what!! She's been indoctrinated with these types of ways her entire life, so she may never come around, but I hope for the children's sake someone will step in from outside the family to help the children. It been where Anna is and it is very scary to find your voice and some people are not strong enough to find it for themselves. I say all of this to say, I don't think it is all her fault the way she is, she's been this way her whole life. I pray she finds her voice before it's too late!! Love your channel!!

I think it’s unlikely the children would talk, even if he did something. (He almost certainly did) When I was growing up, my parents were super abusive, but they manipulated me into not telling people about any of it, by telling me about everything I’d lose if I did, and about how the foster parents I’d be put with would be an thousand times worse. I’d never see my friends, family, or dogs ever again. They’d definitely beat me, starve me, and worse. They’d never allow me to keep any possessions, and I’d never be happy again. Sounds ludicrous, but it usually works on children. They’ve probably told their kids the same. @@tiffprendergast - I know he’s guilty. We need to keep him away from kids a lot longer than his sentence will. Like forever. He should be tagged with an ankle bracelet, kept off the internet, and under serious surveillance for the rest of his life if he is released from prison, with enforced threat of return to prison if he pulls any tricks to avoid the monitoring. We can do that and need to move toward that approach. Meanwhile, his kids are safe for about a decade. But we don’t have to wish he has to eat spoiled food or is tortured or otherwise abused. Otherwise we are just like him. We have the means to just keep people like him separate from the rest of society, and that is enough to keep the rest of us safe. In particular, if his naive wife would just stop dragging her kids to the prison to sit on the pervert’s lap, kids are safe from him. And if you or someone you care about ever gets wrongly entangled in the prison system, you will wish that prisoners were treated better yourself. Often half the people sitting in jail awaiting trial are ultimately found not guilty. They have to stay in jail for months anyway because they can’t afford bail. That could be you someday. There have been too many cases where people are finally cleared by DNA evidence or retraction of false testimony after years in prison. Sometimes the person is already dead, either from natural causes or killed by the state for a crime they did not commit. It happens. Always ask what you would want if it happened to you. Treat other people the way you want to be treated. Vengeance doesn’t help anybody, it just destroys your own soul. Keep your eye on the real purpose of imprisonment, and torture isn’t the goal in a just society.

A majority of the time it’s the guards bringing in the phones and drugs. They are normally paid by people on the outside. Guards do not make very much money, at least not in Florida. So the extra money can be very tempting. I have a family member who was a corrections officer in another state, a coworker who worked night duty with them brought in liquor to drink while there.

Hopefully this is useful info: the type of phone that he is going to have had is about the size of your thumb. These are tiny little things, and are bought in via prisoners (in their prisoner “pocket”), by prison guards who are being blackmailed or straight up paid, from ‘throw overs’ or drone drops (where packages of phones/SIM cards/drugs etc are thrown into the prison grounds and fished into cells by prisoners) and occasionally through visitors. If he’s in a high security facility then even babies diapers can be checked, children can be asked to even undo and shake out braids to show there is noting hidden in their hair. Josh is far more likely to have been pressured into ‘holding’ the phone, usually the phone itself is never kept in the possession of the actual owner due to the punishment if caught with it. It’s likely josh was being forced to hold it (keep it in his cell) as his offence puts you at the very bottom of the social hierarchy in custody. Or maybe he was doing it to repay a debt, or to get some credit for something it maybe even that he had it smuggled in as you suggested. There are far far more phones in prison than you would ever suspect. ( from ex probation officer and prison offer wife)

I was never in prison, but work in a very large jail. A phone would be VERY hard to smuggle in by visitors. Visitors usually have to go through extensive security measures (scans or belongings, walk through the mags, pat downs, etc) and aren't allowed to bring in their personal phones, so I'm not sure how they would get it in. Typically, those things are brought in by corrupt officers or staff usually for large amounts of money that the families will venmo/pay to the officer or staff member, or brought in because they are being blackmailed. Once in there, it could be shared among guys on the unit for commissary or favors (nothing would be for free). Also, as an aside, it is horrific to think that he could have access to the internet on that phone! Yikes!

I worked for years teaching literacy in various prisons in both the UK & Australia. A common way for inmates to access phones was to get their wives/girlfriends to smuggle them in using their infants' nappies (diapers if you're American). They place one nappy on the baby. They place the contraband inside a second nappy and then put that one over the first one, fastening it tightly so there is no slippage. Phones, drugs, money, SD cards, thumb drives & letters were just some of the things smuggled in this way. It then becomes a relatively simple matter of feigning the need to change the nappy. During which process the contraband can be handed over. I'm not stating that this is the way the phone was smuggled to him but it is certainly a possibility.

So when I was growing up and the majority of my adult life, all 3 of my brothers were in and out of prison due to their struggles with substances and the inevitable felonious behavior that ultimately comes with it. Many times I've been in waiting rooms waiting for visits and have watched them pull apart ALL the mom's stuff when they bring their kids in. This happens several yes a day in those waiting rooms. Just about everything you would think would not be legal to do to a small child, or more to the point, in their presence... in a prison is a different story. Being in that prison visiting setting as the visitor?? It's an OPTION. It's certainly not a requirement for your small children to be there. Unfortunately, everyone checking in to the facility, is required to be searched like anyone else. Babies too. It's f'n AWFUL to watch! So I don't see her getting it in without being caught pretty immediately. Because she isn't the first to try and fail at the expense of the poor baby or young child who never had a say in what was happening! But she paid for it you can GUARANTEE that! She made sure he had the money in his books to take care of it in some capacity! Either she paid a guard or someone on the street that knows the guard, or the inmate that set it up for Josh! Which is the most likely scenario in my opinion. But I absolutely agree with you... she KNEW however it went down and was more likely than not! We will know exactly what happened before long I'm sure though. They will be making an example of him because they have to. The only other question, can only be answered when Anna is or isn't arrested. Because the fed does not play. That 98.7% conviction rate doesn't maintain itself. And they have NEVER cared if that convicted person was a mom or a dad. Most are. PS... Y'all!! STOP takindy your babies to prisons for visits!!! They don't belong there and the guy checking people in doesn't care if it's a baby! His job is to make sure that the prison is safe from things brought in from the outside. Do they strip search them? No! But what they do is pull apart everything they SEARCH them!! Isn't that bad enough?? Is it worth it to only be able to take in a handful of diapers. And you can only take in fully made formula bottles, because they won't allow you to take the powder back because it could be something else?? Never having enough and always having to leave early because you're baby needs something that you can't bring back with you? Jesus never mind what it does to THAT POOR BABY! I think that goes without saying. Sorry for the rant! This whole thing with this entire family makes my blood boil!! I appreciate you so freakin' much BECAUSE you don't give her the slack that everyone else does! As a survivor myself of a mother who didn't protect me from her men, and KNEW I was being hurt. I couldn't appreciate your viewpoint more if I tried! So much love from me in Montana! 💜

My stepdad has been in for most of my life. It’s extremely easy to get a phone and other things in because officers usually bring it in and you can also trade commissary with other inmates for things too. Unless the officers and rules at visitation are super relaxed or just not doing their jobs it would basically be impossible for Anna or one of the kids to smuggle in a phone. They wouldn’t even let me bring in a hot wheels car for my son to play with the last time I went to visit and when you bring in things like diapers or something it has to be in a clear bag where everything is visible and they go through everything before you can bring it in

My nephew is within 30 days of getting out of Georgia State prison system. It has been an education for me. 1700 prisoners watched by a team of 7 guards. There was no intervention when there were fights. They didn’t have the man power. They just waited and cleaned up the mess. For him to get a phone, it would be a flip phone and it would have cost $1500 to $2000 sent to a relative of the person on cash app. Their relative would then place the funds on that suppliers canteen account. These phones are typically brought in thru an orifice. Then the person, once inside the visitors area, goes to the restroom and pulls it out then slips it into a pocket in the prisoners uniform and they then go to the bathroom to hide it. The other way is through bribing jailers to bring in contra ban. This happens a lot because the jailers are barely paid minimum wage. It also gives the jailer protection from whatever gang they are supplying.

People would be incredibly surprised to know how many inmates actually have cell phones or access to cell phones, it’s a huge issue in any correctional facility. As easy as they are to get I would be very surprised if one of the kids brought it in for him. Also, kids can’t be trusted. 👀👀 A daycare provider once told my nephews to keep something a secret (absolutely nothing major) and the second they got in the car they were too excited and couldn’t hold it in. I could imagine a kid saying “my mom told me not to tell you that there’s a phone in my underwear, wanna see?!”
