I was tearing up just hearing him summarize that end scene. It was so fantastic! It had both me and my boyfriend crying in the theater, and he doesn't usually cry at movies. Thank you Jon for turning this beautiful story into such a powerful film!!

THIS. LOL I love how Bowen Yang said Jon is "one of the good straights". In all seriousness, a huge part of the theater fandom is queer and thus we have grown accustomed to Hollywood condescending to us and dismissing our tastes as frivolous and "unserious." But Jon CARES. He is a real FAN. And that's why he was able to bring this to life so richly and tastefully, with no regard for the limitations stuffy suits always try to impose on musical movies.

They also need to be good in what they're doing. There have been many directors doing their passion-project and failing. Others like Chu or Villeneuve with Dune elevated it.

I love how the BAFTA interviewer lets Jon M Chu talk and dig deep into his process! Some interviewees can feel like interviewers want short answers and soundbites. It is so much nicer and way better when the interviewee, in this case Jon M Chu, is given the chance to just be themselves and give fans such inspiring, thought-provoking, fascinating insight!!!

I was fortunate to watch this amazing film for the third time tonight. Each time I see it, it feels as though I’m transported to a different place, experiencing a whole new world far beyond the theater. Yet every time, I leave with a renewed spirit and a sense of hope. This film has achieved something truly special. It beautifully captures the essence of life’s best moments, taking us back to times when we may have felt out of place, disconnected, or even alone. This film reminds us that no matter where we are, who we may be, or what stage of life we’re in, embracing our differences is what makes us truly unique in this world. It teaches us that our differences are not something to fear but rather something to celebrate. They are the threads that connect us all. This film reminds us that at some point if you keep on walking, you'll end up at someplace. To everyone who brought this incredible film to life, my message to you is this: You have created a masterpiece that will last for generations. It is more than just a film-it is a timeless piece of art that invites each viewer to see a part of themselves reflected in story. Reminding us all of the courage it takes to follow our paths and celebrate the things that make us unique. Congratulations on the extraordinary work and dedication that went into crafting this unforgettable experience. I hope this film continues to inspire audiences worldwide and serves as a reminder of the courage it takes to walk our own "yellow brick road." And remember, this yellow brick road would not have been possible without each one of you. Once again, congratulations, Team Wicked! May your success continue to grow-both in film and in life!

It made perfect sense. Most musicals are two-parters anyway, with a 10-15 minute intermission in between. We're just in a one-year intermission.

Sign me up for the “Madam Morrible” spinoff series! Michelle Yeoh was iconic in this role! I would love to see her reprise the role in a spinoff that could explain her back story and why she was siding with the wizard, and what she was looking for and saw in Elphaba! I am here for it! That would be a really fun show!

I was a naysayer about having two films. I was wrong. At no point in the film's runtime did it feel overlong. The performances are excellent and I'm really looking forward to the next film. It's a hard thing to get a beloved musical right, Jon M. Chu killed it as did all involved!

I didn't realize at first it was only half of the production. Cuz I'm going to see you tomorrow. But now I understand when I was sent a message from the production team fan site saying the reason is the total movie time will equal 5 hours and it's being done in two parts it's a fully flush out the characters and story to give how much both to the theatrical production the original artists in the Wizard of Oz movie and books had to do in a way they can really flush it out and make it magical

Don’t kid yourself this director bot into the poison apple either he survived by creating something exceptional or it would kill his career. Thats why this movie took so long to come to the screen. The talent was always there but the willingness to put your future career on the line was more than most directors were willing to chance.
