Same thing happened to me with an old girlfriend and one of my best friends in college. It took me years, but I eventually forgave them both, because after awhile, the anger became harmful to me personally. I had to let it go. But even though I forgave them and held them both no ill will, I made it clear I wanted absolutely nothing to do with either of them, and I did not want them in life at all anymore. For your own emotional health, you need to eventually forgive, but you also must maintain your self respect. Let the anger go, but never let these backstabbers and betrayers back into your life.

Had a similar situation like this with a friend who screwed over a mutual friend of ours. Honestly I didn't get mad, sat down and told him that we're not friends as I don't want the same thing happening to me as any man willing to screw over his friend for some quick pussy isn't worth keeping around. So I told him that while we're not friends, if I see you on the street, I'll nod, say what's up and keep on pushing. No disrespect, no grudge, no fight. We're two adults that don't have the same mindset so its best we just go our separate ways

I wouldn't even do the project with him. Go to the professor and tell them you have some extreme personal issues with him and ask for reassignment or other arrangement. Your emotions may accidentally derail your effort on the project and inadvertently negatively effect your performance.
@deridivisstar8845 жыл бұрын
That's not possible. The professor expects you to work with whomever he signs you with. It simulates working with people you don't like. In a real job, you sometimes have people whose guts you hate. But, you still have to work work them. I remember having to do s project with a girl I just broke up with. We barely passed the project, got a D minus.....

that shit's the worst. Getting cheated on sucks big time as it is. Having your good friend doing it is such a betrayal, I would be shaking with rage. I don't think I could even continue talking to them at all. If you can play it like Bill said, it's probably best, but I have had a similar situation that wasn't quite as extreme, and I cut them both off the night I heard about it. Which sucks because the guy really was one of my best friends.

True story, choose to believe it or not: I wrote this email to Bill. It was great advice and I followed it. The dude and I did the project together and it was fine. After we graduated I never spoke to him again, but if I saw him today I'd say hello. I doubt I'll ever see him again though, unless we're both invited to the same wedding or something. The ex-gf I've spoken to here and there but haven't seen her since graduation. I am currently engaged to a completely different person I met after this whole debacle. A lot of people in these comments seem to think I should have fucking killed the guy or at least kicked the shit out of him. I'm glad I didn't do that. It would have been toxic and dumb and probably ruined my life to some degree (all my peers would have seen me as violent and I could have gotten arrested or whatever). Bill's advice was spot on and made me a better man.
