All standing low impact interval workout that includes both strength training and cardio
Join me for this packed 30 minute workout that also includes both a warm up and cool down.
You will need a pair of dumbbells for this full body workout. I'm using 8 pounds for most of these exercises, and I switch to 5 pounds for the last set. Just use what you have on hand and always start lighter until you are familiar with the exercises and get stronger!
Any size weights are great to use because this workout uses timed intervals.
Each exercise is performed for 45 seconds and repeated with a second set. If your weights are lighter, you will be able to perform more repetitions. If they are heavier, you will perform fewer reps.
This workout keeps things moving while we switch between cardio and strength building exercises. It's great for heart health, cardiovascular fitness and weight loss.

At age 83 I’ve been doing your videos for three months, and so far my chronic low back pain has disappeared, I can now walk for three kilometers, and I feel ten years younger. I’ve also been on weight watchers and have dropped 20 pounds so far. I used to think I was ready for a retirement home, but now I feel I have a new lease on life. Thank you so much.

I feel the same way. I am 69 and feel tense from sitting at the computer for 8hrs a day. I have been watching these videos for only a week and I feel much better. I also wear a posture correction strap on my back. I’m so grateful for these low impact exercises. Thank you,

I found you at the beginning of last month & I'm so happy I did! Im almost 52 & I suffer from hypermobility spectrum disorder, fibro, asthma, arthritis & some other health complaints. In 2021 I almost died from covid pneumonia then 6 weeks after coming out of hospital I badly broke my ankle! Then 2 days after that & caused by that I suffered a DVT which was ignored by my hospital & doctor for over a year when I was then finally diagnosed. Then it was too late to do anything. I have a mostly blocked main vein behind my knee that causes all sorts of issues. Safe to say I've been recovering ever since! And my fitness has never been so bad... So, I decided to take control & I needed to get fit this year as I felt so terrible. So I needed low impact exercises & weight training etc as I can't leap about & have to eatch my knees, hips, back & neck. And here's where you've come in! 😊 For a start I've lost almost a stone, but most importantly I'm starting to feel like a different person! My stamina has massively improved, I'm stronger, muscle tone is starting to come back & I am not puffed out all the time. Your workouts don't damage my body but make me sweat & work hard & are a challenge to do. Thank you so much for the calming way you have about you, the set up & quuet music as it really helps, plus all your videos of course which are amazing! Sorry for the essay but I just wanted you to know you've really helped change my health for the better 😁

I am 71 and have been doing Silver Sneakers for several years. I lost my Silver Sneakers coverage and found you on You Tube and love your videos. You have a calming and motivating presence. The workouts are challenging yet doable. The thing I love most about your videos is the variety in the exercises demonstrated. Always a new twist to your cardio and your strength training. Repeating each set of exercises is just the right amount to learn them, do them well and yet not get bored. Thank you!

As someone who works in an office I have had a hard time fitting in exercise. Your 30 min workouts work great for me. I can do these 3 to 5 times per week with no commute. I like that you’re informative without talking constantly but mindful of the angles we are watching you from. Very accommodating to the audience. Thank you for your great videos!! I’m hooked!

Just love ❤️ love 💕 your workouts. They are moderately paced for my 58yr old self with arthritic knees. I used to really go for hard core workouts as a young person but now have sort of slowed down. So yeah I find these really good for this phase of my life. For the cardio portion I always have a light weight for extra umph ! Thank you so much ☺️🥰🙏🏽🌺

Lauren,this was such a fun workout. I love all of your workouts but this one had me smiling right from the beginning. Loved the intervals and how you reminded it to keep the heart rate up during weight work out. Definitely be doing this workout again!

Thank you for this workout, I’m 63 and have Fibromyalgia with several injuries from my Nursing career. I’m 45 pounds overweight and I know I need to do something to change this. I found your workout sensible and challenging but did the whole thing. You are very informative about form and several modifications if need be. Well done and I have hope, thank you.

I am 53 I did everything but before the 2 last strength exercises I stopped I felt it was too much for me and I am really disappointed with myself that I quit almost toward the end. It never happened to me with your workouts. I do love your workouts you are my personal trainer.

Don't be disappointed with yourself. We all have "off" days and this is one of my more challenging workouts. You should always feel good from your workouts, you are doing great things for your body :)

I jumped! I leaped! I hung on to my 3 pound weights and felt my sweat band get humid. Haven't enjoyed working out this much since I followed Cory Everson on her workout show back in the 1980's. Thank you for making me feel physically young again or at least some semblance of feeling challenged.

Thank you Lauren! Your dumbbells strengthen videos exactly what I need! I am 58. Petite and lost 15 lbs doing fasting and cut out carbs to prevent diabetes. I also lost muscle mass😢so I am so glad to find your strengthening and resistance exercises. Hopefully I can regain my muscle and more 😊

Oh I love your workouts. Keep them coming. I am 62 and it is very difficult to find workouts that is more tailored to your older body.......these give me a nice workout, heart rate up, muscles nice and sore but not extreme!! Thanks so much.

Nice challenge. The best thing is after doing your workouts for a few months I can hear your sweet voice in my head saying “proud chest! Engage the core!” I have terrible posture! I’m a dental hygienist for the past 40 years so it’s an occupational hazard!

Hi Lauren, Thanks for your wonderful workouts. Could you please post a longer dumbbell workout and also a longer resistance band workout? I love your workouts They are so fantastic. Thanks you.

Thanks so much! I have several that are 40 minutes. Most strength workouts that are longer just do more sets and rounds of the same thing. So until longer videos are made, I would recommend just repeating the sets!

I'm not a senior nor even, strictly speaking, a beginner. I have rheumatoid arthritis. Your videos are allowing me to be active and invest in my health with less risk of a flare up, which I really appreciate. So thank you for making fitness more accessible to a lot of different people. Also, this one made me sweat a lot.

Great workout, Lauren. I prepping for surgery, breast cancer and these workouts get my endorphins flowing. Off to do yoga now, followed by meditation. I do at least one of your workouts five times a week. 🙏🏻 I am me doing me.

I liked this cardio and strength combo video. I used 3lb and 2lb weights, next time I will increase to 5lb and 3lb and see how I do. Thank you, you keep me working out almost every day.

Just what the doctor orders for those among us who are returning to exercise after a significant hiatus. Productive and enjoyable throughout. Constructive feedback: I love-hate the anti-momentum tricep hitch in the last set! I've lost quite a bit of weight/muscle mass due to illness and am working on regaining upper body strength. My temptation with challenging tricep work is to use a slight rocking motion, which feels less intense but is not helpful. The brutal pause at the top effectively prevented such shinanigans-Ouch but effective. Hope others enjoyed as well. Excellent work Lauren. With appreciation, Tara

I love that you know your stuff Tara! It's nice to mix up the exercises and I do a lot of tricep kickbacks because a lot of viewers can put their arms over their heads while holding weights for a traditional overhead tricep press. Feel free to switch that up if you find yourself yelling at me on your screen ;)
