This entire series on Trinidad and Tobago has been one of the best adverts I’ve ever seen for the twin-island republic. The locations, the cuisine and the genuine interaction with the people has really been an absolute pleasure to watch. As an American, I never knew that Trinidad and Tobago is such a beautiful place. The people, the food and of course the island are spot on! It is refreshing to see how other cultures live. @Trini_Skunt-Troll2 жыл бұрын
The local communities mostly take the form of ‘villages which are long secondary and tertiary roads with dwellings constructed on either side, then villages converge towards towns/centers/commercial hubs and that is where the American fast food outlets exist; and while they are patronized considerably, most people prefer to dine at the local food establishments for superior variety, flavors and cost-effectiveness…main roads link all the towns together across the island, and they too are dotted on either side with homes and businesses (concentrated more in closer proximity to the towns and lesser as you travel further away)…

Another awesome video..Mark's food reactions are priceless..Tobago is a gem of an island, the nationals just don't know what they have. The people living in Trinidad can jump on a ferry or a plane and visit luvly Tobago and enjoy a food vacation..

Trini food will always be crazy due to all of the Asian and African influences. Chili crab just like in Singapore but with dumpling instead of mantou. East African fish stew etc. Trinidad is kind of like a melting pot of the Caribbean similar to Singapore in Asia. Also, the Indian and Chinese influences are a solid foundation of the food. You can never go wrong with food in Trinidad, just from their history, high standards and artistry in the kitchen. It is my #1 cuisine in the world as a Filipino American (Trini, Sri Lankan, Thai, Malaysian, Jamaican are my top 5, dead or alive. 😂). Yes, I will have Italian, Mexican and American Soul Food once in awhile, but my Top 5 are the serious contenders as they have the spice, curries, delicious carbs (bara, festival, noodles, coconut rice) and combined with some mango juice or coconut water put me in a tropical state of mind.

As a trini I've tried and loved sri lankan and thai food but covid messed up my chance to experience Singaporean and Malaysian food 🙃 but it's still on my bucket list!!! All those spices! I want to taste them 😋
@kayflip22332 жыл бұрын
@@alanaramdeen7719 Yes, you can taste the similarities between Trini, Sri Lankan and Thai right? Nice and light curries unlike most Indian curries which are heavy with butter or yogurt. Balance between spicy, citrusy, and sweet with some type of carb (bara, roti, noodles, egg hoppers etc). Makes you feel like you're on a tropical island, that's what I like. Not just for the taste but to take me back to good times.
