what a great video, thanks for making it, i loved how you paused it and showed us what you were talking about. I have 1 silky terrier and 1 mini schnauzer and they both get along great while eating, but we do have to watch the silky because she will steal her sisters pigs ears/rawhide and her sister will eat food out of her bowl too if i'm not standing there watching them loool. No fights ever occur they happily swap bones etc all the time but seeing your babies there eating like that reminds me to keep my girls separate for their own peace of mind too. I'd hate for them to feel like they were competing or had to scoff their food down to avoid having it stolen. Thanks again! Can't wait to see more vids like this :) p.s Luna and Mooky are gorgeous.

This recently happened with my two miniature poodles (they're siblings that share a very strong bond) over an octopus toy. Our male dog LOVES toys, socks, slippers, etc., whereas our female dog isn't all that bothered with them most of the time. It started out in good fun until the female dog got the toy (we bought two of these toys for each of them, but the female got bored of hers and the male claimed them both). That resulted in a stand-off with the male trying to take it back from her that escalated VERY quickly.

is there anything you can do to keep a dog from getting food aggression in a 1 dog household. or is it something that you can only train for when there are signs of it.

What do you do if one of the dogs does become tense or displays guarding behavior? I've been able to work with my dog on resource guarding with myself, but not with other dogs. He is absolutely terrible about resource guarding with all dogs, and will even try to steals other dogs toys/bones/ etc before he even touches his own.
