Spinach has oxalic acid which binds to calcium and prevents the absorption. It also can lead to kidney stones I think. Anyway idk if I would eat so much raw spinach, as it seems hard to digest. The beginning smoothie wasn’t very calorie dense and I could use more fats/protein.

Or even to help in the summer when you sweat more......
@brian40195 жыл бұрын
The human body has a system to let you know when you need to hydrate: it's called thirst. Yes, the bottled water industry has done a good job of convincing the public they always need to "stay hydrated", etc. But it's silly. It's not going to hurt you if you get a little dehydrated.

Hi Mona, so I've been watching your videos for about a month now and I feel like trying some of the ideas that you suggest. I come from a VERY "meat and potato" type of family so making the switch or transition is going to be hard. I am going to try baby steps and for sure not going to 100% give up on meat but I could use some alternatives now that I'm 40 and it seems harder to try and sustain weight and I guess I would call it overall bodily health with just exercise. Not to mention exercising like I used to do when I was in my 20s is next to impossible now lol. Anyway, I hope this makes sense cause I seriously never comment on things, but felt like I should let you know you are reaching out to guys like me in Texas, who recognize that you are not fake and have a genuine solid personality along with being funny at times too.

A few thoughts...The breakfast smoothie doesn’t seem that calorically dense, I don’t think it would fill a ton of people up. At best, it’s around 200 calories. Plus, using that much spinach everyday in a smoothie would lead one to buying it at least three times a week which isn’t super affordable (neither is buying cacao powder and monk fruit). I also think we should move away from demonizing food (“clean food”). What’s the alternative? I feel like that encourages placing food into categories and if we happen to eat those foods, people feel bad about themselves.
@MLC-melons5 жыл бұрын
You can use frozen spinach for smoothies instead of fresh. Or buy a huge bag of fresh spinach from Costco and freeze the rest before it goes bad and use it later on. It's a lot cheaper. The same principle applies for frozen fruit. You can freeze banana chunks, berries, sliced apples etc. It's not that expensive this way and frozen lasts longer than fresh.
