Everquest - An Exploit or Daybreak OVEREACT

In todays video i'll look at the latest 'exploit' to rock Oakwynd, or is it all it seems? Did Daybreak react to a quest that has been in Everquest since launch. Will Lady Shae continue to enjoy her red wine?

Wait, am I misremembering? Or did Daybreak say they removed all the exploited platinum and it was a non-issue? Huh, sure seems like they missed some.

Their statement was basically this: Total duped platinum was 2.2% of total economic impact. And they removed 90% of that - so it had a 0.22% total impact. If those numbers are true - it basically means that the SG bots farming for platinum already were hoarding multiple billions of platinum. And now the price is inflated on everything because they had to start competing.

I'd say a shit ton cause this had zero impact on me cause it's faster to just get your druid friends to PL you for an hour then to spend your life savings on wine. =D I also just gave them like $150 for the Teek TLP. Your experience isn't the same as everyone else. We are different humans. :shrug:

DB only suspends accounts that don't have significant krono transactions. If you are afk botting 70 toons and trading shitloads of Krono they will ignore you. If you are even perceived to be cheating/exploiting and don't do a lot of krono trading you are getting the 7 day vacation. They give a 14 day vacation after the first 7 day vacation. Idk what they give the 3rd go around. Haven't been testing the waters on that.

I did red wine quest many times over the years and IMHO it was only "worth" doing up to Level 5. On live servers getting to 5 is trivial with the tutorial and CR. DBG borked the economy and plat is worthless. Only on servers with worthless plat and no access to Tutorial/CR is this quest an issue. If DBG did not like the quest, they could have raised the costs or decreased the repeatability without affecting dependent quests (Pally/SK).

Yeah, normally. But when 1 Kr is worth 1Mpp, becomes pretty worth it again.

Mmm… like 4ish years ago you could get up to level 30 pretty easily without breaking the bank.

It's a fine line for them to walk. They have to be seen to do SOMETHING about people using exploits, but simultaneously can't destroy the bot users that most likely account for at least 50% of their income. 🤷‍♂️

Doing a quest that has been in the game since day one is not an exploit.. The automation is but honestly do you trust daybreak to police that without ruining hundreds of other things by accident. Honestly they should leave it in if for no other reason than a plat sink to help start fixing their economy
