I feel ya, it feels like it’s a different franchise at this point, hell, almost all the characters are different from when they first debuted, in the first movie Dom didn’t talk about family, sure, he had his team, but even then he admitted it didn’t matter to him when racing, Roman used to be a bit of a tough guy with an authority problem and a smart mouth, but became a dumb fast talker in the later movies, hell, he became dumber as the movies went on, Tej as you said was just a mechanic, but all of a sudden he became a hacker, hell, even the Rock’s character changed for the worse and became softer ever since Fast 7, and he’s not as old as the original characters

Listening to them explain the beginning made me think of when we were kids. And we would come up with crazy scenarios. “CARS DRIVING THROUGH MINEFIELD BUT THEN A HELICOPTER COMES AND TRIES TO KILL THEM BUT THEN KING KONG JUMPS UP AND KILLS THE HELICOPTER”
