And to come to the aid of the lec music video parody: it was the cold opener of the show and a comedic start, like they always do. The song was super over in the community, plus it was hillariously well done imo. Also between the troll mv and the games was a lot of more serious content so you had a slow progression from comedic to serious. Yes LEC can be troll sometimes, but as soon as it comes to the games, the teams, the players, etc. it is as serious as it needs to be and puts a lot of emphasize on the games. It's tough to mix it properly, but I feel like they are doing a great job.

I usually have a glimpse of the ending of LEC and then start watching LCS and I just think the LEC looks a lot more polished and professional. I guess its hard to compare because the LEC has a studio. Thats because the pandemic numbers in EU has dropped and things are heading back to normal but in the US numbers are going down but still a lot higher than places like Germany. But just seeing the LEC and then LCS the difference is obvious. I also like how the EU teams have cams in the teams rooms so fans can see their teams/players reactions after a win. Its a nice touch in comparison LCS doesnt have that.

About the froggen void staff thing. Maybe his thought process on that situation was he wanted to bring the full item (void staff in this case) rather than pieces of a different item. You could argue that void in that situation is good on the lb cause a dragon fight was coming up and the raw dps void gives you could be the result in making the picks you need. I'm probably completely wrong on this tho 😅

Aphelios is so OP in NA because everything is 5v5 aram in one line at end game and the champion loves that situation, specially when teams don't have any idea on how to flank or play around vision and TP adventages. Aphelions isn't near op in the biggest regions because you can avoid the teamfights and force the Aphelion team to engage and leave an opening to flank him and kill him.

The reason the weird dance thing worked in the LEC is because that was their song of the week for the week prior, and people in chat seemed to really enjoy it/freak out at the weird as shit music video. The casters were getting into it as well, so they thought: fuck it, lets just make our own version as a joke for next week. Whether you personally liked it or not, I think the fact that they just saw this meme developing in twitch chat and then decided to go all in and double down on it is impressive. Because it means they are obviously paying attention to what their viewers like and they have the resources to act on that and give a nod to the community like: we see you. LCS feels the complete opposite, where they pre planned the whole SushiDragon stuff way in advance, and never even considered how it would go down, and now that the vast majority of viewers is like: no we actually hate this, theyre screwed, because theyre like: shit, we planned to have this going for the entire split what do we do now?

It also just doesnt feel forced. It really feels like whatever they come up with, all the talent and casters are 100% invested. So even if they come up with stuff thats "cringe", or sth I personally dont enjoy, its always so much worse when you have the feeling that the people doing the "cringe" stuff also arent really buying into it. Thats why Ovilee is great. She doesnt do the anime skits because it ticks a "meme" box, but because she genuinly is a giant weeb. So even if you hate that, you can respect the dedication, and you feel that its something genuine. SushiDragon feels like it was just sort of slapped on top of the broadcast without much consideration what the casters and analysts might think of it or how they could incorporate him into the show to make it work with them.

I think there's a grand overarching issue with LCS not having an outlined identity. Academy players with former World's contenders, interchangeable midlaners, more Danish stars than North American ones - all presented with a format that seeks to emulate traditional sports without the prestige and legacy that they have.
